Torald Othric of Griffonstone |

Talinthal, regarding your mention of leadership. I think that in such a small group a dedicated leader makes only in a few cases sense. All of us are specialists for separate areas.
If you think of an speaker for our group or something like that, I think, that Solinas or myself would be appropriate.
RIZZENMAGNUS |
As you approach the spear in the road, you begin to glance about, wondering why there is a spear in the road, questioning its existence. Looking to your right and left, you see that both sides of the road have a slight rise, well within bow shot of anyone who would seek to ambush you.
Looking closer at a rise, you see it covered with odd looking bushes and shrubs, most are brown and faded from being dried out, others green and lush. You take a moment, finding this odd since the grass is rather withered.
As you stare, you see a bush twitch, as if blown in a wind, yet, there is no wind.
Willow Greystream |
Willow whispers quietly to everyone and puts up his hand to signal a halt...
hush! Be still!........ Helen, stop day dreaming and pay attention.... There are people up ahead... Hiding in some bushes on the ridge... I am sure of it...
He will attempt to silently nock an arrow without being noticed
stealth: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
do the "bushes" have a clear line of sight to us, or are we still hidden from their view? Also... You all have horses, do I get a horse?
Torald Othric of Griffonstone |
I don't see them, but I see what you mean, Willow.
Unfortunately, they see us too. We have no possibility to surprise them.
I think the best option is to storm one of the ridges. I propose the right.
Asterius Genlon |
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 20
"So be it." Asterius takes out his weapon, a large foreign-looking club with metallic barbs. "If we charge, it is on your count, Paladin."
RIZZENMAGNUS |
hope everyone had a great weekend!
As you all approach the side of the hill, 10 of the bushes shake and shiver, and a moment later 10 goblins burst through the shrubbery. All of them roar with anger and charge towards the approaching group.
i shared out this spreadsheet, and have set it up so that anyone with a google account can move their character around. please dont abuse this please ;)
[ooc]so take a moment, look at your location on the map, and if you dont like it, move it to somewhere on the map, so long as it is on the road. you are not in the bushes yet.
Everyone, roll for initiative.

round one
Having noticed the goblins hiding in the shrubs, the companions all move into defensive positions..all that is, except Talinthal.
His faith in his god shattered while seeing the unholy goblins, talinthal turns and flees, shedding himself of his arms and armor, leaving his horse behind.
The rest focus upon the goblin scourge, set themselves and attack. Solinas starts things off by snapping out a shot at a random goblin, striking it in the chest, yet failing to stop it.
Trapdodger, momentarily distracted by something shiny, refocuses upon the goblins upon the hill and shoots at the same goblin as solinas. His shot drops the creature.
Asterius sets himself, ready to defend himself against any goblin that comes near him. took a liberty there
Torald strikes out at an approaching goblin, stiking a most viscoious hit upon the creature, cleaving its body wide open.
The goblin, upon seeing Toralds incredible strike upon his companion, stops in his tracks, not wanting to face such an awesome opponent.
Other goblins close in upon the rest of the companions, howling for blood.
Yet, there is one that sits with his own guard, watching.
Torald Othric of Griffonstone |
Usually a summary of the round through the DM means the opening of the next round.
Torald makes 2 steps to his right side and strikes at the goblin threatening Asterius. But he misses.

Willow Greystream |
Willow casually steps towards Talinthal's now abandoned horse...
The cleric be damned, I claim this horse! Bah, he was a grumpy feller. Don't worry horsie, I appreciate you!
He then notches another arrow and lets it fly on the goblin up on the hill by himself.

round 2 sumamry
Torald, seeing the minotaur in danger, shifts to the side to engage the goblin attacking Asterius. Swinging his might blade, he misses the goblin.
Asterius, taking advantage of the goblins lack of focus, attacks, only to slip on a hidden rock, but manages to stay on his feet.
Willow lets fly an arrow up at the goblin leader standing upon the hill top, only to have it fall just short.
Solinas steps up and swings at one of the goblins, cutting it down with the curved blade.
Trapdodger rushes forward, putting himself between a goblin and Torald, slashing ineffectivly against it.
The goblins strike back.

i guess I didn't realize the map has been updating, and didnt see that someone was on me
Willow takes a 5 ft step before fireing his arrow at that goblins face (the one close to him), instead of the one on the hill.
do you want another attack roll, or should we use the above one? Also is that link to the Map lying around someone :)
RIZZENMAGNUS |
yeah, i know he can, but he never said yo, i be takin a 5 fut step back ya'll, and den be pepperin dat goblin. wuerd. he just said im attacking the goblin. Course, i could have been evil and just left it alone and attacked him with the AoO, but i give everyone a free-be.
Doogan Mudge |
Wanderins roads makes Doogans hunry Doogan thinks to himself and as he spies an old decaying log on the roadside. Mmm, could get me some good ets in der fer sure as he dives face first over the log he starts digging underneath in the rotten bark he grasps something and hauls it out Jackpot! he yelps as he pulls out a fat yellow slug and eyes it hungrily. I ain't ever et so good as this. Woulda left me that ruin a loooong time ago ifn I'da known whats out here. And with that he pops the slug in his mouth and chews it greedily as he roots about under the log for more delicacies.
After eating his fill of grubs, slugs, and night crawlers, Doogan curls up next to the log to take a satisfied nap. He isn't asleep long when he hears voiced on the road. He carefully peers over the top of the log and he sees the strangest sight. A couple of humans, one heavily armed and armored, an elf, a wee man, and the biggest burliest man thing he'd ever laid eyes on. The creature towered over the others and was covered in brown fur and scars and looked like he might have had a pair of horns at one point. The group on the road was talking in hushed tones and looked to be moving cautiously. They seed me? he wondered to himself just as the cow-man pulls out a huge club and one of the humans shoots an arrow at some bushes up the road. Then all hell breaks loose.
Terrified Doogan crouches low and peers over the log to see what they were attacking and immediately his skin begins to crawl goblins! he says out loud. I hates goblins. He watches for a few brief moments and decides the crazy group on the roadside cant be bad if they are killing goblins ... can they? With that he grabs his long spear and springs into action!
Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Doogan hops the log and charges the goblin directly in front of Solinas yelling his family's fiercest battle cry I make you deads! and tries to thrust the tip of the spear into the goblins rib cage.
Attack: 1d20 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 1 + 1 + 2 = 23
Damage: 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 + 1 = 7
Edit: the extra +1 TH and Dam are for the racial bonus vs goblinoids. Also, the +2 for charge.
