Bruhma |
Talinthal, make a perception check, dc 20 to pick out the elf's voice
solinas: yes, yes they are
bruhma stops. Son, If it was just a single cleric, i could handle that. It's more like the entire clerical order of Chemosh is looking for me. Before you start on me concerning the innocents, yes it is tragic, but the help that we provide now will adversely impact our quest down the road. As i said, speed is of the essence, we must leave. NOW. So, which will it be? honor your oath to me by helping me escape? Or denying your oath, helping them, and threatening the world?
Torald Othric of Griffonstone |
I think, that I should have seen her, because of retreating backwards.
Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (18) + 0 = 18
The Elf is missing. You might be focused on your quest, but I won't loose another comrade in this week. I'll go in who comes with me?
Torald Othric of Griffonstone |
Ok. I thought it would be clear after: "Torald turns to the 4 men approaching and walks backwards behind the others"
Talinthal Uth Mondor |
ok
The Revered Son follows the paladin into the room, glancing around he sees his what the evil cleric has done. He grabs his medallion of faith and with eyes looking up to the heavens he prays in Istarian:
The Lord of Bones has no power here. For these are the sons and daughters of so great and good a god as Paladine, the Platinum Dragon. Grabbing his medallion of faith he begins to pray, "Father, a foul darkness has harmed your children. The scourge of evil harms innocents and causes pain to those you love.
In your holy name, give your unworthy child the power to drive back the darkness, to bring healing. May the warmth of your love and brilliance drive back the gloom of this evil that seeks the death and corruption of all, that all shall know that you are Paladine, the Valiant Warrior and Skyblade. Sifat!.
Using a channel and using selective channel to get as many of his allies and innocents as possible. dice roll is 4.
Torald Othric of Griffonstone |
To hinder the cleric doing harm Torald goes forward and hacks with his fauchard against him.
Fauchard: 1d20 + 7 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (1) + 7 + 1 - 1 = 8 Damage: 1d10 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Asterius Genlon |
"It seems like they won't leave without the others," Asterius observes, looking at Bruhma. "Even if it means facing an opponent greater than they. What will you have me do?"
Rumal |
Rumal is confused by the goings on, first they were leaving, then they were fighting. He's ready to do either as soon as he sees what the consensus will be.
Rumal is delaying until Asterius gets his answer about staying or going.
Solinas Astariel |
Well i guess its all or nothing. Either this works or we are pretty much done for. I could try to crawl out of the main dining room, but i am too weak to stand a chance.
Solinas will use the cover (hopefully) granted by all the bodies lying down around her to conceal her action while pretending to appear unconscious.
if you think that is possible then you can roll my bluff in order to appear out, and cast my spell discretely
Ear Piercing Scream DC 15 Fort Save 1d6 ⇒ 2 + Dazed 1 Rd (at the Evil Cleric)
I gave you a chance paladin, now reach out and take it, The Evil cleric should be defenseless for a few seconds.. I just hope the cleric of Paladine will channel again cause lots of people are still not moving.
RIZZENMAGNUS |
sorry, i had to get off the computer before i could post the action for the cleric and minions, so i am posting it now
The cleric easily evades the poor attack by Torald. Instead he steps away from Torald and Talinthal, allowing his partner that had been hanging around to step between the cleric and the PCs.
Back for more? Watch, oh worthless of worthless. The cleric says as he withdraws a small vial of fluid and a handful of silver powder.
Father of the dead, keeper of souls, my lord and savior, Chemosh, hear my prayer and bestow your presence upon this building. Make it a sanctity for your followers.
With that, he dumps the fluid on the powder and throws it up high into the air.
If you have spellcraft, make a spellcraft check to Identify the spell the cleric is casting.
Torald Othric of Griffonstone |
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
He's tainting this place with Chemosh's foul magic!
@Rizzenmagnus: I assume that the Cleric did a 5ft step back and his partners went directly in front of him.
Because if he went farther away, I get a AoO against him and if his partners went directly in front of me, I get a AoO against one of them.
If the cleric is 15ft away and his partners 10ft:
Torald makes a 5ft step to the cleric and his partners and swings his fauchard against him
If his partners are 5ft away:
Torald makes a 5ft step back and swings his fauchard against the one to his left.
Fauchard: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20 Damage: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16 (+3 AB, +1 Damage if against the cleric)
If an AoO occured in the 1st round:
Fauchard: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13 Damage: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 (+3 AB, +1 Damage if against the cleric)
If an AoO occurs in the 2nd round:
Fauchard: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24, Confirm Crit: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16 Damage: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12 +if Crit: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 (+3 AB, +1 Damage if against the cleric)
Actual AC: 19 vs partners, 22 vs cleric
Rumal |
Rumal, having waited with the Minotaur, follows closely behind the creature as it climbs down. Clinging to the rope, and being as cautious as possible he makes his way slowly down. He hopes that if he stays close to the big thing it would be able to catch him in the off chance he falls.
Please tell me it is a knotted rope, with a wall to brace, and that I can take 10? Otherwise I would imagine that the time it takes, and the height of the tree, that there would be a fair amount of deaths by anyone not PC level trying to go up or down the thing.
Talinthal Uth Mondor |
Skyfather, again, hear the prayer of your unworthy son. Bring forth life from death and light from darkness that this abomination be stopped; that evil die and good endure. Palado Piloforo! Sifat!
channel positive energy again. Dice roll was a 3 targetting allies and the taverners and not baddies with selective channel.
Solinas Astariel |
Round 2:
Cast: Ear piercing scram on cleric DC 15 Fort Damage 1d6 ⇒ 6 + Daze
Move 30ft away trough the front door (as she was close to it) and down the stairs leaving her backpack)
Torald, Talintahl Now is the time to run, you can't kill him yet. you have done enough. Retreat now to live and fight an other day. Sor the sake of your paladin and you cleric let this spell work E'Li she thinks while she runs away
RIZZENMAGNUS |
talinthal, i will only accept dice rolls made using the built in dice roller. so please take a moment and re-read how to setup the dice roller command, which is found below in the how to format your text button.
and yes, this is the start of the 2nd round
the cleric did a 5 foot step away from torald. so you would get an AOO on the companion. But, if you step forward to attack the cleric, the companion would get an AOO on you. Since the cleric moved at the end of the first round, your first AoO would be used. You also dont get an AoO on the guy who moved into your threating area.
there is only 2 enemy combatants in the room. the cleric and a partner.
Torald Othric of Griffonstone |
Not really, you must concern, that Torald uses a reach weapon. When the Cleric did make a 5 ft step back, Torald can make a 5ft step to the front or diagonal to follow him without provoking an AoO.
But if Solinas and Barefoot manage to retreat, Torald would withdraw to a position right in front of Talinthal to cover his retreat in the next round.
Solinas Astariel |
As she is bolting trough the front Door and on her way down the stairs Solinas will yell the Following:
I have Stunned the cleric for a few seconds, but it wont last longer than that. If you are not out of here when he recovers you will all die. Flee for NOW is your only chance.
Torald Othric of Griffonstone |
Talinthal run!
Torald makes himself ready to withdraw in the 3rd round.

2nd round summary
Recognizing the spell that the cleric has cast, Torald is aghast with righteous fury. Leaping forward, he brings his polearm to bear upon the cleric, slicing savagely into the clerics side. issueing a hiss of pain and a curse from the cleric.
A moment later, Solinas cups her hands around her mouth and issues an odd noise from her mouth. It is barely audible to everyone in the room, but to the cleric it hits him with more power than the paladin's smite. Leaping to her feet, she screams at everyone Leave now while he is distracted. suiting her own command, she bee lines to the front door and dissapears.
A shake and rattle issues from underneath a pile of bodies in the middle of the floor. A kender, forgotten about, struggles to his feet.
Adventure time! he screams, running past the cleric and paladin into the kitchen area.
Torald and talinthal, seeing everyone retreat, withdraw from the tap room, walking backwards, their eyes upon the clerics partner. The partner lowers his blade in a recognizable stance of hold, and just seems content to watch the pair leave.
Asterius and rumal
Getting to the bottom of the rope, hands slightly burned from the rubbing, look around, attempting to ascertain if the area is free of combatants or not.
perception checks
Bruhma |
Hmmm... i thought you were getting the elf woman? Bruhma asks torald and talinthal as they retreat into the kitchen.
no, dont explain, i watched the whole thing. She ran out the front. We must get down below and link up with her, before she is captured.
Jumping again onto the rope, he slides down with ease, his armor not hindering his movement.
Asterius Genlon |
Kender. Adventure Time. Pfft, haha.
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 19
Asterius lands on the ground, relieved to have solid footing again. He looks around with a keen eye, wary of danger.
