I'm good with cutting some of the filler fights. The narrative is what is important and at this point the only question of mechanical success or failure is with a boss fight.

...he shifts to his normal form then wades into the water. His flop is not as dramatic but he does push off from the bottom to come to lay next to Quasit.
There is a pleased smile on his face as he reaches out and takes her hand.
For some reason, this feels like it could be a scene from a music video by The Cure. :)
In the video of course, Quasit and Kalchine sink forever, hand in hand...

It ends with them sinking too deep to be seen then a pair of bubbles rising to the surface then an irising fade to black as the last note lingers, then the title of the song in white on the black background.

Enjoying everyone's reactions to the sudden tropical beach. :D

I read the description for the islet we are on to say that there was no vegetation at all. I also gather that it is rather small. Can we see the whole expanse of the islet?

It's about a quarter-mile in diameter, no vegetation, pretty flat... yeah, no reason you wouldn't be able to see the whole thing.

Quasit Typo: should be “…I’m NOT trusting anyone in any of these pocket dimensions…”. Can’t believe I missed that.

Interesting idea I had,
Living Lich,
A caster that is subject to a permanent Magic Jar spell, and the soul jar for the spell is also a once per time period cast of Clone spell so when the character dies their soul goes to the soul jar and from there they activate the Clone spell to recreate their body. Or they can use the Magic Jar spell as normal, switching to their body or the body of another.
The jar is also permanently invisible and can cast unseen servant.
The jar is made out of a used ioun stone making it difficult to do anything with even if noticed.
The downside compared to normal liches is the requirement to keep the soul jar near their current body but the upside is being alive and far more flexible as far as bodies go. Also, minimal new magic required as it is basically a slight variation of existing and not even top level magic. Quite expensive though given the material components requirements.
