It's been so long since I last played such a high level character that I've forgotten what items are a good options. Any suggestions for the Warpriest?

Your bab is +10/+5, so im assuming your getting +7 from dex/str or w/e ur using and magic weapon, maybe weapon focus.. So your normal none two weapon attacks would be:

+17/+12

Twfing with light weapons give's u a -2 penalty to all attacks so with twfing and imporved twfing your attacks would be:

+15/+10 manihand
+15/+10 offhand


Ok. I have Weapon Focus Kukri, +10 Bab, 20 Dex, Two Weapon Fighting, Improved Two Weapon Fighting and Greater Two Weapon Fighting.

On a full attack, what are my attack values and why?


and a +1 Weapon keen ghost-touching weapon.

You can't have greater yet, cause it demands BAB +11.

You still need a +11 bab to have a 3rd mainhand attack.. No mainhand, no offhand..

Why ghost touch? Why not +1 Agile, Keen Kukri? Would add dex to damage as well..

For ranger feats i would sugest twf, improved, and double slice

Well, I don't know what to say then. I think you would get +15/+10 with your main and +15/+10/+5, but that's just not logic, you would be faster with your bad hand than with your prime.

Do you mind If I make a very optimized character?

Agile is a broken enchantment for sure...


Does it say that no main hand/No Off Hand in the rules somewhere? Because it definitely seems that I can take that feat through the slayer talent.


Because I didn't know Agile existed.

I like ghost touch cause I hate incorpreal things, but Agile is definitely better.

BTW if I were the DM I would not allow a third off hand attack in that case Ixos, but thinking about... a third attack will hardly hit, making basically no difference, since you would get it at 11... So whatever, ask your evil DM ^_^

By the way, the slayer talents now are WAY BETTER than the rogue talents. Argan is not going with a full rogue cause I have no rogue talents for levels 6th and 8th...

Reading up on it by Raw a ranger could have a 3rd offhand attack at 10th level, but at the additional -5.. Seems retardd to me but by raw there it is.. We're doing this by pfs rules so if u wanna have a 3rd offhand attack by all means.. Honestly a better call would be to take two weapon rend.. but your not str based so it wouldnt add much..

With that in mind i would do twf, imp twf, and double slice.. Remember to take weapon finesse ot the finesse rogue talent..

Yea 20pt buy, 2 traits, 62k in gear, core races..

Walter if your going to tank you could always take shild focus and dodge for an extra 2 ac.. I wouldnt use cleave or vital strike.. i wouldnt go step up unless you went following step and step up and strike too.. Until these classes actaully get released there wont be any specific feats for them, so it will get better..

If i were Tanking and didnt have access to alot of fighter only feats i would swap your ability scores around to more like:

Str-14+2human+2level+2belt=20
Dex-10+2belt=12
Con-14
Int-10
Wis-16+2headband=18
Cha-10

Human-Toughness
1st-Dodge
Bonus-Weapon Focus(Scimitar)
3rd-Power Attack
Bonus-Furious Focus
5th-Shield Focus
Bonus-Improved Unarmed Strike
7th-Crane Style
9th-Crane Wing
Bonus-Crane Riposte

About your items in pfs i dont believe you can add stat boost to items besides belts and headbands, so the gloves would have to go but with the above point buy you still have a 14 con..

Afew other things i would suggest..

Trait-Fates Favored, It adds +1 to any luck bonus to recieve.. Thats +1 to divine favor and divine power.. Really good imo..

Spells-Some to think about imo
1st-Liberating Command
2nd-Bear's Endurance
3rd-
4th-Divine Power, Blessing of Fervor

Gear-
Dump the Adamantine imo DR 3/- is nice but its eating up 15k of your cash.. You can swift heal urself 5 times a day..

I would spend something like:
+2 Fullplate(3650)
+2 Light Qucikdraw Shield(2209)
+2 Amulet of NA(4000)
Jingasa of the Fortune Soilder(5k)
+2 Belt Str/Dex(10k)
+2 Cloak of Prot(4k)
+2 Keen Scimitar(18315)
+2 Headband of Wis(4k)
Dusty Rose Ioun Stone(5k)

That leaves just under 6k for whatever else you want.. Consumables etc.. Might wanna have a way to fly..

That gear and feats would put ur AC to 29 and with Crane Style, Wing and Riposte and 3 ranks of Acrobatics you could take a -1 to hit for +3 dodge to ac and auto deflect 1 attack a round, making a AoO against it..


I'll probably finish the rest of this and be ready this weekend. So is it level 10 or 11?

Ixos i have a few questions

Questions:

Why Improved and Greater Fient? I understand u wanna sneak attack every round, but it takes a move action to do it therefore you dont get a full attack.. 5 attacks with chances to crit on each s better than 1 attack with sneak dice attached.. That would free u 3 feats.. Also the Kukri isnt a exotic weapon so you dont have to take ewp for it.. That frees up another feat.. I would spend these feats the following way..

Double Slice-So your offhand damage is the same as ur main
Piranah Strike-Power attack for finesse weapons
Iron Will-Your will save sucks.. Also if i were u i would get a watfinder and socket the clear spindle so ur immune to dominates etc..
Lunge-More opportunities for full attacks with your non-reach weapons..

Just a heads up guys but you might wanna invest in methods of alternate movement.. Consumables at the very least.. I understand mayn of you havent played high level in a while or never so im throwing u a bone.. Many enemies have the ability to fly at this level..

I want to be lethal with out feeling sorry for u so..

Thanks for the input Werepox, but some things do not match on that count.
You do need a 13 natural dex to qualify for dodge, and that would leave me without any constitutions (unless I dropped the others).
Unarmed strike I could get for free If I followed Irori, and the crane style tree would be awesome, but I do find that feats very very lame. Somehow I keep thinking "Craven" style... They would be optimized, for sure, but it's just not the warpriest's business. I cannot go with the Crane Riposte yet cause I don't have BAB +8.

Besides, I would have to put the shield out, which will make me lose the AC.

Anyway, the adamantium armor is indeed heavy on the budge, but I've never actually used one. I want to see how much difference it make, to be so expensive. If I got rid of it I could add +3 to AC, improving my AC to 30. I'm not used to playing at this level, so, is 30 something you can be very happy about or 27 is enough?

Furious Focus would be a good feat in my opinion, if it were applied to the later attacks, not to the first one. Still, a nice thing to guarantee you will hit, so I'll take it in place of Step up.

Also, the Amulet +2 would cost 8k, not 4, the Full Plate +2 would be 5650, and the shield 4209.


What are the best ways to fly?

A scroll of fly costs 375. A potion costs 750gp!!!
Other than that I know of no good manner to do it. On 3.5 my cleric had a persistent Lesser Holy Transformation. Gosh that was broken...


Hey Werepox, let us be level 11 so I can take Improved Eldritch Heritage so I can fly. :-)


Or let us be non core races. :-p

Ok Walter first off sorry for the mishaps, it was early i had had no coffee yet lol.. I forgot about the hand free thing for crane style.. With that in mind 4 feats would open back up, 5 if u disguarded dodge as well.. Its very odd to me that you would not be granted access to fighter feats.. Thats deff something i will suggest.. Matter of fact im going to start a list of things we see should be changed, afterall this is a playtest..

Back to the talk though, if you get ur AC to 30 than most things in this module will have a hard time hitting on 2nd and 3rd attacks.. Some will need a good roll to hit with thier first so i dont think adamantine is neccessary tbh..

My reasoning for restricing races is the pfs only allows core without boons.. Well Core +Aasimar, Tiefling, and Tengu.. So since im trying to stick to the rules those other 3 races are open for play as well and any associated bloodlines..

AS far as flight goes, u dont need a permanant form of it, but many fo the bouts yall will have might need it.. Just saying.. Consumables would probably get u buy.. Being pfs u will have the ability to purchase consumables at any time so..

If Yodler doesnt wanna play when he returns, than you can all be 11th.. It would unbalanced the module to have 5 11th level pcs.. i would have to rework every fight to not be cake..


I did. I went with the Improved Two Weapon Feint tree instead as that does what I wanted to do. Picked up Double Slice as well.


If we get bumped up to 11 I might switch to Aasimar though so that I can fly.


Though if we hit 11 I can afford to buy winged boots.

Man you really should consider the Fate's Favored trait.. Any luck bonus you have is increased by +1.. Thats +1 AC and makes your divine favor and divine power +4 to hit/dam.. All from a single almost broken trait.. Btw where is your Luck bonus to AC coming from? The Jingasa and the Ioun Stone are both Insight, which stack..

Also a +2 keen scimitar will statiscally do more damage than a +3 scimitar due to its extra 10% crit range..

And talking about divine power, please take it.. Its argueably the number 1 melee based divine spell there is.. Righteous might would be close, but it would grant u +4hit/dam(with above trait), +10hps, and an extra attack on a full attack..

Communal Resist Energy is a solid 3rd level spell i had forgot about btw..

Remember ur Fervor Ability is based off of charisma.. Its a very nice self heal and can allow u to quicken spells..

Int 13 cause I like skills, but I'm swapping it to bring other stuff. The fervor ability to swiftly cast spells is too nice to dump.

You're like narrating the changes I make as minutes go by. It's impressive. Seriously. Divine power is a nice spell to have, but I have only two spells of 4th level. I'm not sure I will select it.

It would be better to get the Keen as a feat, since I have so many useless feat slots, but I can only do it on level 11.

Jingasa is luck, by the way, and I think the broken trait would double that too, right? Man, this is just broken...

It adds +1 to any luck bonus so yea.. Surprised its still pfs legal..

I understand about only having 2 4th, but what else are you gonna take? Blessing of Fervor? Freedom of Movement? I just can't think of any better than Divine Power for melee divine guy.. You shouldnt be picking offensive spells because with an 18 wisdom the likelyhood of someone failing that save isnt high.. I would reccomend picking buff and utitlity spells..

As far as keen goes it you can buff ur weapon +2 for 10 rounds a day.. I would do the keen.. Again if Yodler hasnt returned by the time we kick this off than yall can bump to 11th..

And yea my knowledge of this game is pretty extensive, ive played just about all the classes either as pc or gm, most up into the mid teens in levels so ive seen first hand what works well and what doesnt..

Imo the Warpriest is deff one of the most powerful, if not the most powerful class of the new ones.. The ability to swift heal/swift cast spells, swift buff ur weapon, and swift buff ur ac is very powerful.. U add 2 good saves, full bab with ur main weapon, and 6th level spells is just a really good class..

Edit: Forgot about the Blessings and higher weapon damage(which really is only for 1 handed weapons).. Which btw what diety are u worshipping/what blessings from them?

You're right about the keen, that's why I haven't bothered applying it. The +3 is overall pretty good, and bypasses some Damage Resistance.

All is left is to adjust extra spells and details. Ops gotta go.
