You play a group from the dead kingdom of Martell as nomads to the sister kingdom called Nirvana on the other side of the world. Includes system changes, new feats and new, better Martial classes! ^_^

Your town is overrun!
A wave of undead monsters of every rotting description have destroyed your kingdom. Though you have some skill, you are no match for their numbers. Through some miracle, your own cunning or strength, you have escaped the burning wreckage of your homes with whatever you can carry.
You begin play as level one characters the morning after the destruction a few miles away from the tower of smoke that was your town.
You get max starting gold for your class.
This campaign will be using a few new systems and changes that greatly effect magic, weaponry, and also makes a few new classes!
These are outlined in campaign info. (Or will be if you get here before I figure that out.)

it is built enough, but seems a bit weak character wise if you have anyone to fight you for the class.
If that does happen, feel free to do another character. :)


Hmm...the legendary Aasimar Fighter sounds intriguing.

Although, the legendary Vishkanya Rogue does as well.


how are we doing stats?

also I have an idea for a race but I may need to modify the base race a bit.

I wanted to play a changeling but change the size from medium to small.

this is actually my first take but the concept seems to work well this way.

also if I do in fact change to size small should I adjust stats for the size change?

medium to small:

per the monster advancement chart that would be: -4 strength, +2 dex, -2 Con

per the reduce person spell effect it is -2 str and +2 dex only.

I could just apply the young template which is -4 str, +4 dex, -4 Con (this template would allow me to actually begin at level 2 since the Template gives a -1 level (CR) adjustment


Note, in my original plans, the ledendary rouge is the only charecter allowed to be evil (so long as he still cooperates)

The ledgendary rouge should have stolen at least 300gp's worth of stuff in his lifetime.

Those are a few things i forgot to give magic in the write up.

20 point buy.

I don't think starting at a different level is ever a good idea.

As per race points, there is no change in stats between the two.

we have one applicant with LR, but you're the first to look at L. Fighter.

now that we have new people, we need to say the part nt everyone might like.

Because Icehawk and I are running this as Co-DM's Ice is running the encounters and I am running the story, we are both going to be running player characters. Mine is a blacksnake summoner with another archetype that removes all but cantrip spells and Ice is running a Sorcerer with a Divine Bloodline to be our healer as that tends to be the one people get "stuck with."
Ice has his character so he can experience the story as a player, which he rarely gets to do as he gm's most of our games. It will remain as mostly a supporter and will not be a deciding factor in any of his encounters, but will aid players in taking them on.
I am operating my character as a combat character, but also as a Semi-Leader that allows me to assist in guiding characters in-character as opposed to using deadlines and story things to rail-road people into the story.

Some people greatly dislike dm's with pc's, but i can assure you, these are only to assist the story that your players will be the spotlight of. :)

Yes, that's what i suggested.

It's not for me to decide, though. I'm just providing baselines.

no young template. different level characters are not a good thing.
just do -2 str and +2 dex. cmb and attack roles balance it out enough.


will take a bit to figure out how to make this character work at level 1

i built it as level 7 before, and that is the level i really start to mesh with my original concept.

I just wish there was a way to get baleful polymorph earlier.

working on a new spell will post it when done.

another thing. i am houseruling that sorcerer can use any mental stat as their operative casting stat wherever cha is used.

It's a lower level save-or-suck spell, negating an opponent for nearly an entire combat, as a 3rd level spell, and, now a 1hd creature, you can kill it effortlessly.

The lowest level save or die is phantasmal killer (4th level) and it requires two saves, and the penalty for failing only one is just str damage, not instantly becoming a useless combatant.

Is this going to be a creepy nature kid who transforms people then makes friends with the animals?


ice, Ed's thing is a you question.

in case you havent noticed, i like home brew and i am sometimes prone to giving ad-hoc bonuses for creative problem solving.

i like a story and i dont like rules to totally define my game.
this is rules mid-light.


Actually, looking at it again, it's not as bad as i thought.

It doesn't remove HD, and you still get 2 saves.

It's alright, not too disruptive.

one thing to consider too. is the fact that without prepared casters (arcane at least) actual class level is higher to get access to that spell (level 6 sorcerer)

may have to change it to a level 3 summoner spell also.

I also did not care if you said no anyway, I just was throwing it out there.

It's no more broken then other 3rd level spells.
(Spiked pit, for example)

This campaign looks very interesting, but I'm a little confused on how to apply to games on this website. It already appears that character sheets are being shuffled around. Is that something I have to do to apply? If so would it be ok if I use mythweavers instead? My last question is what time would the game start?


I forgot to say what I would be playing, I'd be another contender for the Legendary Fighter. If I don't get picked for that I'd like to play a ranger.


What most people do is build a character sheet as an alias.
I'm not sure what Mythweavers is but I'm guessing it's a character sheet building site.
If so, you can build it there and copy paste calculated information into an alias under a spoiler tag to keep things short.
I would like your alias to be fully inclusive, with all of your stat information, a physical description, and a short back story leading up to the point where the city is destroyed.
If you need any help on this, let me know. I can link a point buy website or something else.
The game starts when I have a balanced party to choose players from. :)

For Everyone: We have a group of semi-experienced players here and your DM's are here to help! If you need help with /anything/ feel free to post it here or PM Ice or myself. I am better with story and flavor options, while Ice is better with rules and building things. yeah I do alot of posting from work and mythweavers is blocked (along with google docs, which sucks) but I can manage as long as I have something on these boards to work with.

I wish they would upgrade these forums to be more like Giant in the playground forums. allowing custom pics for your profile and also display images in the post. you can even assign a signature that will appear at the bottom of every post you make automatically.


They have stated that they don't want signatures because they clutter posting. They have a part in the site rules FAQ for it. And I think pictures would take a lot more than people think. Lots of copyright and licensing issues, plus a major posting code overhaul. They would have to look at /every/ picture to make sure it isn't bad, and formatting pictures for profiles would be a nightmare.
I think good enough is good enough. :)


I've created the character and I've created a message board alias, but I'm missing where I put my character information... Do I post it on this forum thread?


go to my account up in the top right corner of the screen
go to where it says create new alias and then follow those instructions (ignore the bit about factions unless you really want one)


Put it in the profile of the Alias. :)

Angelic blood and flesh cannot be taken as traits. they are feats.


How do you have fly at 1st level?

I assume you're using angelkin.
Also, i see where you got flight, but you have to roll to get that, or ask the dm if you can just take it.

also, how many traits are we allowed, 2 or 3 or a different number (most of the time I see 2 or 3 I have once seen 5 and once "one of each kind" but usually it's 2 or 3 + any from drawbacks)
