Guessing that the blue one must be the Real Hestram, Gianluca closes on him, flying in a wide loop to get to his far side. As Gianluca lands, his wings fade and his sword glows with holy light, which the Honeyed Hand concentrates into one great swing. He takes a large chunk out of Hestram, but the former Pathfinder continues to swell and mutate. His wounds rapidly heal as he grows ever larger and more inhuman.

The beast who is Grommesson roars and attempts a coup de grace on the held Adril, cleanly chopping its head off.

The Hestram on the other side of the beast slams him with an earthbreaker.

Dangit, Jelani, go back and read my posts. The RED Hestram was held! That's the one that should have been CDG'd. Not the one that was already half-dead.

"You won't win, Hestram! And the serum won't work for you," Cladissa shouts. She then sends a hex that will cause him harm if he tries to hurt anyone else.

Retribution hex, Will DC 25 -- fail and he takes half of whatever damage he does in melee.


Whoops. Somehow it didn't show me the second post you made right before the update when I looked before. It doesn't really change anything much though. Red is dead now, and orange made the attacks on Grommesson instead.

Adrenia uses another charge of the Haste wand, bolstering the speed of all the elementals and the two familiars. The elementals then begin pounding away at their targets!

"Our rise to power has little to do with the results of the Serum, Hestram. We are a team, and work together to better the world around us. You, however, are a bumbling oaf whose ambitions are far beyond that which their mental faculties can maintain!" Argor retorts as he works a spell, and sends three fiery beams directly at the morphing man. However, a moment before they would strike, they fizzle from existence!

Shemis continues to stand defensively, in case any of Hestram or his minions break through the line of elementals to attack her.

The man who it is now clear is the real Hestram warps and grows to the size of a giant. His armor splits and grows with him, fusing to his flesh and encasing him in steel. His skin blackens and cracks, melding into a featureless lumpiness. His eyes and what little of his hair remains appear to literally burn with hatred.

The mutated Shadow Lodge Venture Captain turns his now fifteen foot long hammer on Gianluca. "THAT HURT, MAGGOT!"

Hestram turns to Gianluca. "You little slut! How dare you touch my hammer? Let's see how you do in my belly!" He leans down and his huge mouth distends to a grotesque angle. Black, needle-like fangs line his maw in rows.

Due to his martial focus, Gianluca barely manages to avoid being caught in Hestram's jaws.

The most important thing this round is Gianluca's disarm, so I want to clear that up before we continue. As far as I can tell after looking into it in detail, there are a few problems. 1) Disarming provokes an AOO for Gianluca because he doesn't have improved disarm. 2) Enhancement and weapon focus bonuses shouldn't be added to CMB as far as I can tell. 3) Warlords get half their initiative modifier as a luck bonus on gambits, you're also hasted and good hoped.

So, unless I'm missing something, Gianluca's first attempt should be at +30, and it will provoke an AOO. If the AOO hits, it will add the amount of damage done as a penalty to the CMB roll. Also, it takes a swift action to do the gambit, which you only have one of a round. So, you can make one gambit attempt, at +30, and take a bite in the face for it which might make it fail. Still want to try? Or am I indeed missing some thing(s)?

Sure, let's figure this out. First, uggh, I seem to have made two mistakes (one of which you caught):
- #1 the gambit adds +3 to my try, not +6.
- #2 I (and those that flank with me) shouldn't have been getting +6 to their rolls. I built Gianluca with Hero Labs and HL's PoW package claims that...but I think that's something that got nixed between playtest and publishing. Instead, I should be selecting an extra square each round that one of my allies can count as being occupied by me, to determine if they get their normal flanking benefit. (Actually, looking at my sheet, I think both errors were introduced onto my sheet by HL!) :-(

- I think I *do* get my w.focus and enh bonus on my CMB when using a weapon, as per CMB "Add any bonuses you currently have on attack rolls due to spells, feats, and other effects. These bonuses must be applicable to the weapon or attack used to perform the maneuver."
- I (and any ally within 30' of me) don't currently trigger an AoO for using combat maneuvers, due to Gladiator's Presence, "Allies within 30 feet of the warlord gain a morale bonus on combat maneuver checks and to their CMD equal to the warlord’s initiation modifier. In addition, those allies do not provoke attacks of opportunity when making combat maneuver attempts."
- I didn't count my +2 from Good Hope in my disarm roll, since it's a morale bonus, and superceded by Gladiator's Presence. I did include it in my subsequent attacks.

Given that, I think my first roll should be: Disarm+flank+presence(morale)+haste+Gambit(luck): 1d20 + 29 + 2 + 6 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 29 + 2 + 6 + 1 + 3 = 50.

I believe that one has their full turn to succeed on a gambit...but I'm not finding text for that right now. I'll see if I can get clarification, but if the 50 doesn't work, I'd try again anyway, getting either a 58 or 55 on the next roll...depending on if I can use the gambit bonus on one disarm attempt or on all disarm attempts.

In an explosion of blood and armored hide, Thrassk rockets from Hestram's gut! With an angry roar the dragon-man enters back into the world, leaving Hestram's body cavity a ruined mass of leaking ichor.


Gianluca once again manages to knock Hestram's hammer from his hands! The former Venture Captain roars in annoyance as Gianluca slashes another wound into his massive blubbery body. His other two strikes don't seem to inflict any damage.

Grommesson's blows don't seem to do anything to the thick armor coating Hestram's back.

The heavily enervated Hestram succumbs to another of Cladissa's hexes, cursing him with bad luck.
