The RP Tavern

How do you keep all these separate threads straight, do you just bookmark them?

When you enter a thread, a flag is set on the thread. any time there after any new posts will show a number of new posts in that thread, a thread you post in has a dot beside it. I use those to help me find them again. or you could click on your name at the top click on an alias name, then in the post tab select a thread that alias posted in.

Also, one last thing... My actual "role-playing" experience is not that great. The 4e game I play de-evolves into combat. So hopefully you can forgive my initial stumbling.

it's OK, its a learning experience.

Grand Lodge

So I need to post and then go in and edit the character profile. Oh I see.

This is my first post with Clifford (human alchemist 1) and hope this works.

Grand Lodge

And it did I have some numbers down and just need to go over all his abilities to tidy him all up. And if your wonder about the background - Yes Clifford was a clown in another life. ;)

I think your stats are below a 20-point buy

10,15,13,15,10,13 char stats
+1,-1,+2,00,00,00 paradox sys mod total (endo and male)
09,16,11,15,10,10 point buy res + racial
09,14,11,15,10,10 point buy res - racial
-1,5,1,3,7,3 = 18 points

Grand Lodge

Ah I missed adding in the racial +2 for being human as I must have thought you didn't get that as well. Will update here in a second.

EDIT: So I dropped the DEX and upped the INT and then added the +2 racial to DEX for

.

STR: 09 +1 +0 = 10
DEX: 15 +0 -1 = 14 (16 w/+2 racial bonus)
CON: 11 +1 +1 = 13
INT: 16 +0 +0 = 16
WIS: 10 +0 +0 = 10
CHA: 13 -1 +1 = 13

NOTE: Looking for a Trait that makes Acrobatics a class skill.

Log Roller does just that. It is a region trait

edit:
clear on the stats.

Grand Lodge

Can I fluff it out to be Giant Ball Roller - LOL

I can see Clifford rolling along on a giant ball throughout the circus. If not maybe they did use logs.

Thanks

Your almost good to go.

I need saves, AC, attacks, and gear.

Iron Gut is a trait, not a feat.

Grand Lodge

Good to know means I get my much needed Mobility earlier.

I do believe Clifford is complete and ready for a check over.

The RP Town

Lost a few players to real life problems
New slots are open.

What are you looking for, and where are the character creation rules?

For AZ East River game, we need an Arcane Caster, Cleric, and/or Ranger type. Character creation rules are homebrew, so Azure-Zero will have to answer you there.

I do focus more on RP than combat
(not my best RP interactions of NPCs, but still a good sample)
(before they leave town)
Azure Zero's Hollows last hope

Note, I do allow you to romance any single NPC (or PC provided they don't mind), though you could try to romance a married one, but you'd have to be careful.

NPC's are recruitable.

I require players to post ATLEAST once a day (weekends not required, but I still check it) if a player does not post in a day while combat is going, they will miss their turn (I do this even for table-top, except you got 15 seconds to lay down your actions, before I go to the next player)

Base creation rules:
Stats: 20-Point Buy (no stats below ten before racial mod)
Traits: 2
Sources allowed: Official Pathfinder books (through I restrict certain classes (Gunslinger, Magus, and summoner)) and "In Company of Giants"
Races: 50% or more Human DNA, new races are added.
Starting Cash: Max
Starting HP: Max
Character Background: Ideal, if none I'll make one

Add-ons
->Add feat and weapon: Jovian and the Arms and Equipments Guide's "Full Blade."
->This will be decided on by vote, if I add the "Paradox Character Add-on"** which can make for more powerful characters, or weaker ones pending on the match of your choices, and base character build.

Paradox System:
Take your time reading it and decide which options you want to select.

First post on Paradox
I do admit to some bad wording errors in the post

Second Paradox post with traits

There are other races available on the first and second pages of this thread, and you can inquire about those that no one has asked about yet.

Homebrew world Data 1

Calendar

and there is other data in posts scattered about the thread.

Links don't seem to be working.

Links should be fixed

I'll have to give it some thought, but definitely looks interesting.

@Sunshadow: It's me - Filios - would love to have ya guy!

The question is will my job situation let me, as I'm currently in the middle of a job hunt.

Take your time on your decision, I will not rush you.
A job hunt is a higher priority than a game.

Sunshadow21 here. I have this character still around from an old game. I can change background, equipment, stats, etc. as needed, but the current profile should serve as a place to start, at least as far as concept is concerned.

Ok

Garlon has had the required changes made to him. He's a bit socially awkward, but a solid secondary healer and scout.

Should be a great fit! Would like at least one more character...maybe an arcane caster?

If there is still a spot open I would be interested. I always like a good thorough homebrew. If it is an Arcane Caster you are looking for I have been wanting to take a look at the witch. I have a few ideas kicking around.

Make sure that you both thoroughly review the HB rules and stat bonuses for HB racial adjustments. Would love to have ya submit the witch. It would round out the party nicely. AZ is great at reviewing characters and making any corrections.

I just saw the full scope of the homebrewed race choices, so his race might change, but tentatively I am thinking a male human [ecto] witch.

I think I get the Paradox system but someone should check my math anyway.
Point Buy Stats:
STR:10 DEX:15 CON:13 INT:16 WIS:10 CHA:10

+2 goes to INT, thus
Final w/ body type adjustment:
STR:10 DEX:16 CON:14 INT:19 WIS:11 CHA:8

I know that I am planning on taking a compsagnathus familiar and either the Decpetion or Time patrons depending on exactly the flavor I am aiming for. Full character crunch coming soon, followed by fluff after I read some more about the setting.

EDIT: Am I allowed to take the Ability Focus feat for one of my hexes? I suspect not but I just want to check.

You got the numbers a 100% right.

No, you can not take the Ability Focus feat for hexes.

If you want data on the HB races just ask

List
Official WotC
*Draconic (RotD) (template)

Custom stuff
Mountain Folk (base)
*Glaistig Touched (base)
Half-frost Folk (base)
*nymph touched (base)
*Movanic Deva touched (base)
*Oread touched (base)
*Succubus Touched (base)
Visilight Infused (template)
*Yuki-onna touched (base)

*Can go on to half-race version.

I think that I am going to go with human for his race, but I am curious about the Visilight Infused template.

Also I have a few more questions. I noticed in the RP thread that you were allowing the heritage feats from 3.5 If this is the case, I would be interested in taking some from the Fiendish Heritage line to fit in with a point of my backstory. Second, how strictly will you be enforcing alignment descriptors of spells, I ask specifically because of Infernal Healing. It fits my character as a healing spell better than CLW but I understand if you are averse to the idea of my casting it.

Full profile coming soon.

Backstory for DM perusal:
For generations, the inheritance of the House of Kelson has gone to the eldest child with a talent for the arcane arts. As a consequence, the house has produced many of the eminent sorcerers and archmagi in the world. Coross Kelson was born into this family as the eldest son, but with no talent or inclination for magic. He squandered his life away with few friends. As a consequence he was disowned. He left home and wandered the world aimlessly for a time, attempting unsuccessfully to seek his own fortune. One night, however, as he sheltered in an ancient ruin, a voice in his dreams told him that the power to take what was already his was already in his blood. When Coross awoke, he was a witch, practitioner of the arcane arts at the whim of the voice in the ruins. He now seeks to return to his family and claim his inheritance which he believes is now due to him. I also would like for there to be a reason for Coross to have been chosen by his patron (feel free to develop an identity for said patron) for a reason which he (and I) do not know. I was thinking something which related to the Feindish Heritage feat which I will take if I can.

Here is Coross Kelson, Human Witch. I am almost done with his profile, I just need to choose feats and traits and buy the rest of my starting equipment. Someone should also check the math on my familiar, it has been a long long time since I played a character with one.

EDIT: I have taken the Cauldron Hex, as long as you are ok with players crafting magic items; I know that some DM's are not. I also took a Golarion specific trait, which does come from an official Pathfinder source however. If the trait is not ok, I will probably drop the Potion Brewing angle altogether.

Update: Forget about the trait, I realized that there is another reason that I cannot get away with what I was trying to do. I would like to keep the Cauldron Hex though.

Infernal Healing is a no unless you slowly want to become evil,
at witch point the character becomes an NPC.

Fiendish Heritage is the most risky of the heritage feats for alignments.
Abyssal(FC:I) or Succubus(custom) Heritor feats gets more of an OK from me while being tied to evil outsiders.

Visilight Infused will be posted after after work.

Note to self Nor-Ham needs a fighter or a cleric.

@Coross & Garlon: Thanks, characters look great, and after AZ gives you the ok, I look forward to meeting you both "in character" in the thread.

Unfortunately I do not have the required CHA to take the succubus feats, which look very cool, so I think that I will go with the Abyssal Heritor feats. I am unlikely to take more than one or maybe two.

DM:
I know that you specifically called out CN as risky alignment-wise, but I think that Coross' overall character arc should be a gradual transition from CN to CG, fighting against the (probably evil) nature of his patron who has chosen to grant him spells due to his unknown demonic taint.

Coross is done, should I move on to the appropriate discussion thread?

best you could get at level 1 with out boosting feats is 8.

12 = (1(rank (max @ level 1)) + 4(int) + 3(trained))= 8 + 4(??)

DM Azure_Zero wrote:

The +4 is his perception. I just added that stat there since my familiar might be making Perception checks independently of my but he would probably not make a separate initiative roll. His initiative is the same as mine.

The Cauldron hex gives me +4.

Then where is the +7 init coming from

Init = +7 = +3(Dex) +(??) <----I'm guessing the familiar
Compsognathus is not listed as a familiar with my quick check of the books
can you refer me to the source and page that states it can be a familiar.

You are correct, the last +4 to initiative comes from my familiar. I found it first in the SRD here.

I took me a while to track down the source, but it is under the compsagnathus entry in the Bestiary 2 (pg 90).

Found it,
but the World has no Dinos.

Mammals, birds and modern day reptiles exist in the world,
I could make an exception of you finding an old nest and it being the last one of it's kind.

Ah, I was not aware of the lack of dinosaurs. I would like to keep the familiar though, since I like the image of the small dinosaur curling around my neck.

My backstory does say that I got my powers in an ancient ruin. Maybe I found a fossilized egg and the night that my patron first interacted with me it hatched into my familiar. Does that justify me having a dinosaur familiar even if they no longer exist?

It would.
Though most of the ruins are Lost sacred ruins, The only a few that might support a dino.

One being the "Forest of Pain" which is located in the southern part of the center and center northern part of the south. You would have to be a lucky SOB to come out of there alive at level 1.

The Oasis Plateau located in the east, would require a good climb up.

I was going to keep exactly which ruin I got my powers in vague, but the Oasis Plateau in the East sounds cool. The Forest of Pain seems a little intense for someone who is only level 1 as you mentioned.

Which party am I joining once I get the OK?

If you have no further revisions needed from me, I am ready to start as well.

The choice is yours, Recruitable NPCs will be arriving shortly (a game day or two)

East-River
Current Characters: Hack(fighter), Clifford(Alchem)

Nor-Ham
Current Characters: Deorin(bard), Artanthos(Wiz), Foux(witch)
(*This party has expressed interest in the lost sacred ruins)

I'll go with East River myself. I don't see Garlon particularly being intersted in ancient ruins.

If Garlon is joining the East River group does that mean I should join the Nor-Ham group. That would be interesting to have a party will all of the arcane spellcasters.
