I would prefer the data stored in your character profile, but this will do.
In order to check the stats I need to know which body type you selected from in the Paradox system.

Male / Ecto: +1 Dex, +1 Con, +1 Int, +1 Wis, -2 Cha

I'll move the data over to my character profile.

stats Clear.

We still have a few spots open.

DM Azure_Zero wrote:

I would like to say that I am interested, however I will not be able to get a character made until late tonight, or tomorrow morning.

I would like to play a Changeling Dervish Dancer or some type of Sorcerer.

When I build my character I will put it in this alias.

Edit: Capitalization.

Another Edit: I also feel I should mention I have never participated in a play by post game.

That is Ok, the RP Town is for characters to get to know each other before the game starts.

Have you read the Opening post?, The players have voted for My home brew world and for use of the Paradox system.

Yes I have, I didn't really have a chance to read the paradox system closely yet though.

Take your time reading it and decide which options you want to select.

First post on Paradox
I do admit to some bad wording errors in the post

Second Paradox post with traits

There are other races available on the first and second pages of this thread, and you can inquire about those that no one has asked about yet.

I am interested as well. I will read the information and see about posting by tonight (midnight or so EST as I am in Hawaii).

Homebrew world Data 1

and there is other data in posts scattered about the thread.

So it turns out I have more time than I thought, and I need someone to check my math...

Spoiler:
Base stats with no modifiers:

Str:14 Dex:12 Con:12 Int:11 Wis:10 Cha:16

With Changeling modifiers:

Str:14 Dex:12 Con:10 Int:11 Wis:12 Cha:18

I also can't quite wrap my head around the Paradox System.

Math is OK

The paradox system is a realism mod, that allows body type and gender to influence the stats

Since Changelings are female only they get these stats
Female: (+1DEX, +1WIS, +1CHA, -1STR, -1CON)

Now you select a body type (6 total 3 pure, 3 mixed)

The pures are easiest to add the mixed are customisable.

Paradox Female body types:

Female Body types
******************PURE TYPES***********************
8 Frame (P Meso) (+1 STR, +1 CON,+1 DEX, -1 INT, -1 WIS)
"Your physical female perfection, the Hourglass figure, but mentally weak"

Ruler (P Ecto) (+1 INT,+1 WIS, +1 DEX, -1 STR, -1 CHA)
"You have a perfect mind though socalially clumsy and physically weak, though accurate"
"Your very skinny and wirey"

A Frame (P Endo) (+1 CON, +1CHA, -1WIS)
"You have a round Hips and thighs, Hardy and cheery, but slow to notice"

******************MIXED TYPES***********************
V Frame (Meso/Ecto) (Select 1 Positive (@ +1) +1STR,+1CON,
(Select 1 Negative (@ -1) -1INT)
P(DEX, WIS, CHA)
N(DEX, WIS, CHA)
"Your body has wider than normal shoulders, a bigger bust and great abs, but narrow Hips and legs, your Strong, and Hardy, but not bright."

O Frame (Meso/Endo) (Select 1 Positives (@ +1), +1 CON, -1 WIS)
P(STR, DEX, CHA)
"Your body has wider than normal sholders, a bigger bust and great abs, but narrow legs, Your Hardy, but not strong willed."

H Frame (Endo/Ecto) ((Select 1 Positive (@ +1) +1 DEX, -1 CHA)
P(STR, CON)
"Your body has no curves, this makes you feel socially out of place, but it's agile and is great for physical feats."
**************************************************************

Been really busy the past couple days. Hopefully I'll get the time to finish up my character sheet and join the rp tavern tomorrow.

See you tomorrow then.

Character Sheet is done, just need to come up with traits and a back story.

Speaking of back story, are there any wandering bands of nomads around in your world?

Also need to sleep for tonight so will finish tomorrow.

Not many nomadic parts, most areas are settled one way or another.

Have a good sleep.

Azure0, if its no trouble, could you give me a couple of pointers for my backstory?

Moseby is a soldier. He recently evaded capture following some kind of bloody skirmish in the hills. Orcs maybe? He is a warrior from Odin's tribe. Perhaps it was his first taste of real warfare...as a mercenary or citizen. He has travelled now for days through unforgiving terrain to make it to this tavern.

I could use a little bit to work with. Where was the battle? What were the armies? Just a few tidbits of information. I'll improvise as I can from that. I worry about ad libbing to much and messing up your DM schemes.

@Azure and Moseby:

Spoiler:
I see a link between Moseby and Hack because of them belonging to the same tribe. I am not sure how Azure wants to play out the details, but I will operate under the assumption that we know each other, but we travel in different circles. My background indicates an attack by Giants on our homelands, which is how Hack became a "named man". I see Odin's guards/warriors, like Moseby, as an organized force, whereas a barbarian like Hack, while a warrior, is definitely not a part of the organized force - thus the difference in alignment between the two. We are about to play this out in the RP thread. Thoughts?

Mountain folk clans vary from settled to semi-nomadic.

Odin's Clan has a settlement in the middle of the northern territory, but when crap happens he moves to fix the problem.

The Clan has many, and has given the order for small groups of clansmen/women to guard various areas

The clan is trying to keep the Church of Zarus out of the northern territories, and to stop their dark campaign.

Giants are far and few in this world.

Zarg's Orc army is also trying to go northward on the western side. but has put less effort into it, because of the focus on Zarus is more southward.

I also don't mind some ad libbing as it also make the world, the player's world.

Sounds good, I will change my background to an Orc attack for realism purposes, and it appears that Moseby and my interraction in the RP thread will work. Thanks.

That is why the Tavern is there, to let the characters develop and mesh with others.

So apparently the forums don't like when you take too long to edit your profile. Now that my character is actually up can you take a look and make sure everything is good.

Spoiler:
Also I selected the traits Charming, and Attractive Body.

Deorin wrote:

** spoiler omitted **

And upon closer inspection I can't take either of those traits, so... back to looking.

Charming you can take, because it's not tied to the paradox system's body requirements (I have given it to my non-spell casting talker characters).

And I would prefer profile data in the profile, and not off site.

I had that problem as well, the answer is to hit the preview button once every 5 minutes and backing it up into a notepad file as your editing.

Mai here is a testament to that.

All of the data is there it is just under the spoiler, the myth weavers sheet is more for my own reference.

Gottcha

I will begin working on my back story while I do housework, which I need to go get started on... will likely not be able to get back online until after 5pm Eastern time.

I suppose it's a good thing their are multiple groups I guess their being two dervishes won't be a problem.

Liberty's Edge

Aiiight, I have a character mostly worked out. The one thing I'm not clear on - are standard core races allowed (i.e. halfling)?

The RP Town is Up

@ProfessorM, the players have selected homebrew, so Homebrew race rules apply. That means the only playable races are those with 50% or more Human DNA, but new race options open up in return.

Official 3.5
*Draconic (RotD) (template)

Custom stuff (I made them)
Mountain Folk (base)
*Glaistig Touched (base)
Half-frost Folk (base)
*nymph touched (base)
*Movanic Deva touched (base)
*Oread touched (base)
*Succubus Touched (base)
Visilight Infused (template)
*Yuki-onna touched (base)

*Can go on to half-race version.

some of the above races are viewable on the 1st and 2nd pages of the thread, so is data on the homebrew world.

Hey just letting you know I'm still interested I have my character almost finished I just have to adapt the back story a bit because she was originally intended for a Golarion campaign, I was hoping you could enlighten me a bit on the backstory of your homebrew. I'll post with her alias later today once I have the background all finished.

I'd like to express interest DM, and will begin working on a character promptly, this paradox system is intriguing

Your free to join.

The paradox system is a realism mod for the characters, so choices on body type and gender are reflected in the stats.

Paradox First post
there are some typos and a few wording errors.

So the way I can see my back story going is one of three ways:

Spoiler:
1. My "parents" were members of Odin's tribe, and I lived with the tribe for most of my life

2. I lived in Frosty Hill either with a host family, or in some form of church or orphanage.

3. I was raised by people traveling around, and investigating the lost grounds.(Assuming people actually do that)

After I know what sounds best to you I will develop it farther.

Could I get some info on the half-frost folk?

considering an arctic or mountain druid.

Deorin wrote:

Frosty hill is just one location, but it's not the only one of the locations that a group may start at.

Changelings are more common in the central part of the north south axis of the Island.

There are people who have traveled and researched the ruins, but they were either hassled various groups or they find one who will support the research, and give protection, but only want the research for themselves.
Some who have researched the ruins have gone with an entire company of warriors. Only to return alone, and not making any sense, and mentioning ranging from; a feather winged man carrying a long sword who controls azure lighting, A man with a Halberd who can control the earth, a man with a greatsword wearing face paint and an armoured kilt who controls the water and finally the one who wears red clothes carrying two short blades and controls an azure flame.

2 is usable anywhere as each settlement has a church.

3 could interesting (with some of the data mentioned above.)

The choice is yours as

redclover wrote:

Half-frost folk:

Half-frost folk

Speed: 30ft

AC: +1 Natural Armour

Special Qualities: FrostFolk Sight, FrostFolk Resistance, FrostFolk Skill

Bonus feat: Light Armour Proficency

Abilities: +2STR +2DEX +2CON.

Environment: Same as human or any cold.

Organization: Same as human or solitary.

Alignment: Any.

FrostFolk Sight: Gain Darkvision 60ft and constantly under the effect of SnowSight as a extrodinary ability.

FrostFolk Resistance: You gain 5 cold resistance until 10HD where it becomes 10 cold resistance.

FrostFolk Skill: You gain a +2 to Perception, stealth and survival checks, these double when in a frostfell environment.

I should mention that some of my templates have 3.5 racial level substitutions (I'll upgrade them to PF if requested), and a few racial paragon classes were made.

I think number 3 defiantly sounds the most interesting to me, if you have any more information on this it would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a quick list of ruin sites (yes, I am with holding information)

Arche Koeln Falls: An open place with brick flooring on the ground with statues and other stone carvings in and around the waterfall of the River Chrono. It is south of the Keel mountains

Coite-Bodher Fortress: An old run down fortress on an Island on the River Chrono. North of Twilight lake

Great Temple of Caerleon Wedb: Location Unknown

Morrigu Barrow Wall: A large stonewall that looks to be craved into the Cliffside

Briona Gwydion Skyway: This sacred ground is in the Keel mountain range, about 100 km north of the Arche Koeln Falls. Briona Gwydion is a beautifully stone craved and crafted bridge across a very deep ravine.

Grand Forge Alchema: This sacred ground is in a volcano.

Hulle Granz Cathedral: A large stone structure on an island in Twilight lake on the eastern side

Shadow Mortis Graveyard: This graveyard is on an island in Twilight lake on the western side.

You have no idea how much I love you for this.

Anyway you said the town was located north of Briona Gwydion Skyway right?

This being the case, I am thinking that my family will have taken me and several guards to investigate the ruins and something will have happened, and also that I will have learned battle dancing from one of my family's long-time guards.

Your group may start anywhere in the northern two-thirds of the island, so Frosty Hill is just one location you could start at, you could start at Nor-Ham, East-River Village, Dun'lag etc.

DM Azure_Zero wrote:

I have no idea where any of those places are, without a map... So i am going to proceed by assuming Frosty Hill, and will change it later when we decide how the groups are made up and where they are starting.

I am also going to say that my parents were probably searching for clues leading to the location of The Great Temple of Caerlion Medb.

And they are not the only ones looking for that lost ground.

East-River Village is on the river Chrono's eastern bank, south of Coite-Bodher Fortress, but north of Twilight lake.

Nor-Ham is located north of Morrigu Barrow Wall and west of Arche Koeln Falls. Norham is south of the most western part of the Keel mountains and has the western mountains to the west.

Dun'lag is located in the Eastern grass lands.

@All
The area you start at will not necessary be Frosty Hill, there are 3 other locations.
