Silver Crusade

Hellad nodded before Talonvor receiving the cloak.

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

To the cloak.

Gudbjörn accepts the ring, studies it quickly, then slips it into a belt pouch. Well Lord Murbark, it seems that there is some civility amongst this crowd after all. Many praises for your most generous offering, I might add. Gudbjörn, Voice of the Forge. Forgive my cynicism and skepticism, but all these rapidly unfolding events are a bit much to swallow. And it would seem that the majority of your fellow highborns might be quick to agree with that.

Appraise: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 for the ring, just to get an idea of its base value.

Accepting the ring, Azura nods slightly in gratitude, before examining the ring, attempting to learn what its magical value is.

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26

Azura you think it maybe a ring of some form of energy protection. Infact you think it should protect you from the cold or flame, though you are not sure which.

Gudborn, you think it maybe be worth at least 1000 gp.

Hellad you can't tell what the cloak does.

Silver Crusade

Since everyone is more calmed. Hellad grabs a sit and eat something while listening to what the people that looks like authority say.

Gudbjörn reaches into a large pouch and retrieves a leatherbound tome, and from a second smaller pouch a small wooden stick sharpened to a point and charred. He begins to make some sort of an entry, sometimes pausing to close his eyes, and then returning to his entries.

Hmmmm.....

Knowledge, history: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16 Orb of Dragonkind
Knowledge, religion: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21 Orb of Dragonkind with regards to its significance to the Kobolds.

Knowledge, history: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9 Cyanwoods, Wolf Castle

Gudbjorn,:
you are able to recall that each orb of Dragonkind is made of n unborn dragon, and can grant special powers. You also know that Talonvor has destroyed more than one.
You know that Many Kobolts go out of their way to protect the unborn souls of their Dragon relatives. When found, hundreds of Koblots could flock to it to make sure it is untouched.
You can remember little of Wolf Castle, other than the fact it was Made by Taggerung, after a drow invasion, long ago.

After pondering for some time.... Well, good Talonvor, I have a final question. What would be our fate if we are to refuse this "prophecy," this fate of yours. Not to say that I am...but for arguments sake. What if one or all refused to take on this errand of yours?

Then The Chromatics will win. The world will burn in Dragonfire, and everyone you know and loved will never make it into heaven, Elysium, or Nirvana. There are many powerful magics on the side of the Chromatics. You six are the only ones who can stop them. All the rest of us can do is help.

Well, comrades, what say we grab what provisions we require and make our way towards our fate? Say, two days time, enough to get what we require and complete any research that may assist us on our journey?

Talvon vor looks at both of you. Good luck we are counting on you

So are you taking the two days?

Female Sylph Sky Druid 1

Sure

Silver Crusade

I will remain in the castle.

Grabs his gear and walks away.

Well there are some shops around the area. A potion shop and magic shop being obvious.

Silver Crusade

Spoiler:

Actually, I will remain in the castle gathering information by following servants and eavesdroppings conversations.

I will take a few hours of these days to write a letter to my brother and inform him of the situation.

I intend to visit any local libraries or dwarven temples to further research the history of these orbs and any tangential information, mythology, folklore etc, that may help song the way. I also purchase a mountain and rock climbing kit, as available.

Available. The temples tell you nothing, but you do find a book about it, in a Dialect you can't read. A wizard there says its in Sylvan.

As the evening wanes, I retreat back to the Dwarven temple to further study the book and gift from earlier in the visit. After prayers and meditation, I cast detect magic, focusing examinations on the ring. I then cast comprehend languages (40mins per cast) and spend some time studying the text. Before retiring for the night, I meditate further to restore my default spells.
