Wrath DM |

Having trouble getting a map built (will sort soon hopefully). Initiative groups are 1 - Elsbeth, Anya, Alannah. Group 2 - Kobolds, group 3 - Lev, Alandra, Arianna
The party quickly establish themselves into some for of defensive postion around their campsite. They had done fairly well in preparing, knowing that kobolds would be in he area and a number of fallen logs and scre had been placed around the site to provide cover for those neededing it in case of an attack.
Both Arianna and Lev melt into the shadows of the woods, though Lev's familiarity with these surrounds makes it easier for him to do so.
Before too much time has passed, the sounds of twigs giving way under the feet of approacing kobolds becomes very apparent. There are 6 of the little dragon men, approaching the firelight with some caution, though not spread too much, nor split into groups. With their eyes gleaming read with nightvision, the dragon men have clearly spotted the fire and some of those in the camp, and are readying slings to attack with.
Ok, Kobolds are 30 feet away, in the woods. Unfortunately this means only Lev has a clear view of them, everyone elses is shadowy because of low light conditions (the fire light doesn't extend 30 feet). Until I get a map sorted, post your actions as descriptive and well work it from there. For ease of game play, lets assume the people in the first initiative group are the closest to the kobolds (at 30 feet), the other group are about 10 feet back from them. Lev and Arianna have not been detected so the kobolds are flat footed to them. (Arianna, you cna move stealthily to close the gap and get sneak attack on your go that means, assuming you use a bow or the kobolds get close enough for you to use your swords.

Anya Medyved |

Anya put her weapons before herself in a ready position, and pulled her bow. The kobolds were still in way too good cover to shoot at them, but the moment one of the little pests moved into a clear shot, she would greet it with an arrow - hopefully hitting the little critter by surprise. She didn't have much time to switch back to her melee weapons, but figured if she dropped the bow right away, she should be able to do it.
She waited with baited breath... her hair standing on edge.

Alannah Silverbow |

With blinding speed Alannah looses a shot at one of the creatures, her hand grabbing another arrow before the shaft is half-way throuugh its flight, her bowstring once again drawn taut.
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
1d10 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Make whatever adjustment is needed for light issues
"C'mon you little bastards"the young warrior mutters to herself.

Lev Feybane |

Lev stands still and silent, gripping his sword tightly, waiting for the right moment to act.
Since Lev won't be acting until after the kobolds do, I'm content to remain in place until the map's up and ready. Once the kobolds have moved in to attack, Lev will probably charge in and try to catch one by surprise then.

Wrath DM |

Sorry, havn't got a token for Alannah yet, will fix for next map. At the moment you're Mawj :)
The group move well, using the time that Arianna provided them to good effect. After taking up defensive positions, they readied for the assault.
As soon as Alannah saw the movement in the shadows, she let fly. A high pitched yelp brought a smile to her face, knowing she had hit one of the little drogonmen. She watched as it dropped to the ground, clutching at the shaft in its side and trying to crawl into the bushes.
In response, the air is filled with the whistling of stones being hurled by the little buggers, as they try to target those manthings closest to them. Mostly the barrage is innefectual, given the effective cover of the group, but both Alannah and Elsbeth cop grazing blows from two particularly good shots (1 HP to each of you
From behind the front line, Alandra steps forwards and prays for Pharasma's blessings. All of her companions can feel the lady of graves take a hand in guiding their actions. (Bless in effect as of now)
Group 2 are up. Alandra, you can move up into group 1 when round 2 starts, since your initiative roll was 17. Let's not waste that :).
As long as you stay within the rough cirlce of the tents, you will have cover (+2 AC) because of defensive steps you took when making the camp.
Usual rules apply for trees. They provide cover when in them, and concealment for missile attacks if you're in them or behind them. Tents block line sight unless you're standing next to them. It assumed you can lean around the sides if you're next to them.
Anya, they haven't moved closer yet.

Wrath DM |

Bumping this back up before I go to camp. Group 2 to post. Then group 1 can post straight after. I'll be back in a week. To make it easy for you to resolve actions while I'm away. Kobolds =(AC15, HP4, you have a 20% miss chance until they move within the circle of tents, unless you have low light or night vision). Cheers and see you in a week

Lev Feybane |

Silently cursing at the kobolds for their slow advance and wishing he'd brought his bow, Lev considers the distance between himself and the nearest of the attackers before shrugging and charging forward, attacking the nearest with a great swipe of his sword.
Charge to I-2.
Attack Kobold at H-2: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 6 + 1 + 2 = 16
Damage; 2d6 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (6, 6) + 6 + 1 = 19
The kobold explodes in a shower of blood and gore as Lev's sword sweeps right through its small body.
Lev's AC is sadly at 10 now.

Elsbeth Volarius |

Seeing Lev too much exposed and with too many enemies around, Elsbeth calls her infernal blood once again.
Move action:moves to H-9
Standard action:casts Magic Missile on the kobold in H-1
damage 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
c***o never a high result on damage when you need one

Wrath DM |

Combat errupts in full after the initial exchange of missile attacks. Lev leads off with a wild charge into the midst of the reptilians. His broad axe obliterates his opponents, leaving its companions gasping in surprise. At his feet, the wounded kobold wimpers and clutches the arrow in its side, desperately trying to stem the bleeding.
Arianna moves stealthily up on the group, positionining herself to deal with any that try to flank the party.
A burst of magical activity sees another of the creatures felled, as between Elsbeth and Alandra, they send two bolts into the creature. The sound of its blood freexing and cracking from Alandras ice bolt is something many won't forget in a hurry.
Two more arrows fly from the campsite as Anya and Alannah add to the carnage. Anya's shot is true, killing another beast and clearing Lev of most of his opponents.
The remaining creatures look shaky, but continue the assault. The two closest to Lev charge in and engage him with their little spears, both of them landing good blows (Two hits, 4 damage total). The remaining kobold whirs its sling vigorously before unleashing a rock at Anya, striking her heavily despite the cover she stands behind (Potential crit but unconfirmed. 3 damage)
Obvioulsy the fact the creatures were in their home territory made them far braver than normal.
Over to you guys again :). Group 2 need to complete their round 2 actions, group 1 can get their round three actions in.

Lev Feybane |

Lev grits his teeth at the pain as the two spears pierce his skin but he simply brings his greatsword around for another attack.
Attack I-1: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 1 = 8
Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 3) + 6 = 13
Unfortunately the wounds he's suffered has knocked him off balance and he stumbles in mid-swing. Cursing, Lev steps to the side, deeper into the thicket of the tree in the hopes that he could better expose the kobolds to the attacks of the others.
Five foot to J-2.

Wrath DM |

Lev desperately swings his great sword across in front of him but misses his target by a wide margin. The big hunter quickly steps back, giving his companions more room to attack.
Alandra backs his play almost immediately, again unleashing the icy shards of her goddesses wrath at another of the dragonkin. It strikes the creature heavily in the chest, but fails to drop it despite the ice that lines the wound.
Arianna, moving stealthily forwards finally sees a chance to strike one of the creatures. After taking a bead on the beast, she releases the shaft and watches as it narrowly misses the creature, despite it being unaware of her presence.
Elsbeth further backs the group by bringing forth a magical fugue of confusion on one of the creatures, causing it to momentarily forget why it was there.
Giving the others another night to try and update before I roll for them :). Cheers

Anya Medyved |

Anya darted towards the Kobolds that forced her brother to retreat, her blades turned towards her ellbows. These slashes were something she had been thinking about, training and now finally feeling confident enough to actually try. Turned like this, she was able to slash with either weapon quickly, but with all the power of her upper body behind it - and losing reach wasn't so much concern against the small kobolds

Wrath DM |

Alannah's shot carries across the forest and strikes the chest of heavily injured kobold, finishing the little dragon man in a spray of reptilian blood as the arrow punches though its small chest.
Anya, rushing in to support her brother swings her duelling sword with precision, but is foiled by the shadowy light the kobold is hiding in.
Not realising how many of its companions were now dead or incapacitated, the little warrior follows Lev into the scrub, stabbing him with its spear yet again (Hit AC 19, 4 damage). It shouts in glee, yipping to its companions in its own language, before glancing quickly around and groaning in dismay as it realises it is most likely about to die.
Ok, back to you guys again. Only 2 alive and capable. One is stunned until its intiative, the other is fully active. It is in cover now so has and AC of 17 plus extra concealment against missile attacks. Technically 5' stepping into the scrub isn't allowed but I'm allowing Lev to do so this time and will let the kobolds as well.
I removed the dead kobolds from previous rounds to clear the map a little. Also note the spangly new Alannah image on the map :)

Alannah Silverbow |

Hearing the cry of exultation and the grunt of pain Alannah focuses on Lev, barely able to make him out she, can only guess at the position of his attacker.
She closes her eyes for a second, her breathing calm, all distractios fading as she reopens them.
She breathes....and fires, a shot that whistles past the wounded ranger's hip to strike with a satisfying yelp.
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
1d10 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
1d100 ⇒ 99

Anya Medyved |

Anya hissed, and struck a quick and decidedly deadly combination attack. She intended to slice this last kobold down as quickly as she could - maybe prompting the last one to surrender. There was something curious about this site, after all - why trap some random clearing that massively?

Wrath DM |

Both arrow and blade saw the last two kobolds dropped. Both creatures were struck multiple times, and they died with pained yelps, leaving their wounded companion sobbing in fear.
Lev and Anya both wrinkle their nose in disgust when they realise the shock and fear the kobold has gone through has caused it to evacuate its bowels.
The night forest is eerily quiet, the combat having driven most cretures into hiding.
Combat over. You have a prisoner this time, on 0 hit points but not dead. Take stock of your injuries and spells consumed please. You're in hostile country here and may not get a full rest in before another encounter.
Anya

Wrath DM |

Having finished the battle, the small party quickly searches through the corpses and drags the wounded Kobold back to the relative safety of their camp. The creature whinces in pain with every jostling move, its hnds never straying from the arrow it clutches to prevent it hurting any more.
While Lev stands guard over the beast, Arrianna takes stock of the posessions. Not much to talk of, this was clearly a hunting party, though hunting for what is anyones guess at this stage. (You each get about 5 gold from them. Their wepons and armour aren't worth anything. One of them had a potion it was carrying, but after a wuick check, it tuns out ot be no more than muddy water and berry juice.)
What are your plans for the prisoner? Can I also get everyone to make a perception for me please.

Lev Feybane |

Perception Check: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25
As Lev stands over the prisoner, holding his greatsword in both hands to make it clear to the kobold the penalty for escape, he asks, "Does anyone speak the language of these filthy beasts? Perhaps he has some information of value."

Arianna Ravenswood |

Perception check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Arianna will attempt to stanch the blood flow from the unconcious kobold.
Heal check: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Unable to stop the hemmoraging she calls out "Can I get a little help over here? This was just a hunting party, which means that there's a nest of these little buggers around here somewhere. Maybe we can get some information out of this one."

Wrath DM |

The wounded creature looks up at Lev, beyond where Arianna is trying to staunch the blood flow. It babbles something in its own tongue, before switching to very broken common
"I can spekken warmblood. Save em from the long dark and em talking you aboot Sootscale Rokka"
Rokka sounds like it might be a word from its native tongue that doesn't translate overly well. Possibly tribe or clan based on its use here.
Beyond the camp, the forest is dark and silent, something that Lev picks up on as unusual, since enough time has passed since the fight that things should returned to normal. The hunter is tense, watching carefully while Alandra goes about her business outside the campsite. Somewhere not too distant a branch snaps and something big grunts and shuffles through the foliage.
Alannah and Arianna both hear it too, something moving ponderously through the bush. At this stage it is some way off, but the fact its noise carried so far and that all three of them can hear it speaks of its size.

Wrath DM |

There is time for folk to slip some more armour or gear on before whatever it is gets close enough to engage. Those of you who wear heavy armour, you can only partially don it. (No one wears heavy armour I think). However, if no one stays on watch there's a chance it will come in while you're all getting ready. Let me know specific plans given this new info

Lev Feybane |

Lev frowns at the kobold. "No harm will come to you if you tell us what we want to know. Do you know what it is that's coming now?"
Without turning away he calls out to the others. "Can someone bring my armor from my tent? I don't want to leave the prisoner unwatched."
Assuming that his armor is brought to him...
Lev shrugs on the studded leather armor, tightening the straps but keeping his eyes on his prisoner as closely as possible.

Wrath DM |

After some time in which the group hurriedly prepares, the sounds of teh creature get closer. A deep rumbling growl comes from the darkened bushes near Arianna, and she hunkers further back into the scree in the hopes of not beng seen.
The kobold at Lev's feet squirms in pained fear as he hears the thing get closer "It a cave Ursa warmblood. You em being etten ifn' you em staying"
As the words are said, the great beast shambles into view. Standing nearly as tall as Lev's shoulder, the animal is a massive ball of brown fur and solid muscle. It's nose lifts to the air as it sniffs then snorts out a puff of air and mucous as it locks the fires location in its sights. Another growl comes from its throat and it prepares to charge forward into whatever it had found encoraching on its territory.
It's a BEAR! A big one too. This is what the kobolds have been trying to capture/kill since it wandered into their territory. Unfortunately, this one is aggressively territorial.
I rolled inititives to save some time. Group1= Alandra (21), Alannah (20), Ariannah (15). Group 2 = Bear (14). Group 3 = Anya (11), Lev (8), Elsbeth (2). It seems even my dice roller is deserting you Elsbeth hehe
Go ahead and post round one actions. Arianna, the bear doesn't know you're there, giving you sneak attack advantage if you want it.
