Brawncho_The_Brawncho |
Ok horse, you'll be safe over there. Just like I wanted. Problem solved, Mortimer.
Brawncho heads over to the goblins, seeing one appear out of the smoke in front of him. He smashes it.
Power attack but no rage.
Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Damage: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (1, 1) + 9 = 11
*cough* *cough*
Smoke definitely kills gains. Can't swing as hard. Definitely the smoke.
Alan Giorgi |
Two shots come silently whistling towards Gabby:
Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 9 + 1 = 23
Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 9 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 9 + 1 - 2 = 23
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
R9 - Larry, War 2, Mortimer, Shaman, Brawncho
Larry_Leadgut |
You have been cursed and fired upon my Queen. By my honor, I shall defend you!
I'm guessing Larry can fit in the half-square north of Brawncho easily enough. If not, he stands behind that monstrosity.
Alchemist's fire:
Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
Damage: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Let's confirm that fail:
Confirm: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
And direction:
Fumble direction: 1d8 ⇒ 7
That's due north of her, so she takes 8 damage, Reflex save for half, DC16.
Mortimer_The_Old |
Hmm...I'd like to keep an eye on that tick, but guess I should heal little Gabby before that archer does her in.
Did I see where those shots came from? The whole vision from the sky thing might've helped me out here.
CLW arcane wand: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Alan Giorgi |
Shaman Reflex: 1d20 ⇒ 4
Warrior 2 take his action:
Longspear: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Crit Longspear: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Warrior 2 makes a perfect stab at the closest thing on Brawncho and stabs through his ankle and Achilles' Heel causing 1d2 ⇒ 2 Dex damage, reducing his movement to half speed until healed.

Brawncho_The_Brawncho |
Brawncho doesn't like little goblin. Brawncho doesn't like sharp needle through ankle. Brawncho RAGE!!!!
Rage, PA
Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
Damage: 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (6, 1) + 12 = 19
Gabby_The_Great |
To the goblin that's kicking some ass:
You are worthy, little one. Cut off your ears and surrender to me and you can join my tribe!
Diplomacy: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (15) - 3 = 12
When that doesn't work, she takes a shot at him:
Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
And squeaks in High Goblin:
Submit to me now or I will take off your head and spike it outside my keep, peasant!
Intimidate: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Alan Giorgi |
R10 - Ranger, Boss, Larry, War 2, Mortimer, Brawncho
Gabby blows a significant hole in Warrior two where his stomach used to be, but some how the bastard stays up and doesn't make a peep.
Ranger Gob fires at Brawncho, the largest and dumbest target:
Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 9 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 9 + 1 - 2 = 23
Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 9 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 9 + 1 - 2 = 11
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Fakraay Utru's tick skitters comfortably along the rocky edges an hops to an out cropping just adjacent to Mortimer, his teeth clatter with the same speed and noise as the ticks.
Spear: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Tick Bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Tick Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Tick Grab+Attach: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Disease (Ex): Red ache: Bite—injury; save Fort DC 13; onset 1d3 ⇒ 2 days; frequency 1/day; effect 1d6 ⇒ 5 Str damage; cure 2 consecutive saves.
R10 - Larry, War 2, Mortimer, Brawncho
Larry_Leadgut |
Sweet mother of all that is holy. My Queen, I have dispatched the crone and that peasant doesn't know what's good for him. But hark, 2 enemies close together!
Aiming for the tick because he looks like the easier target. And Larry wants to watch him curl up on his back and twitch all 8 legs!
Bomb, PBS & Cognatogen in effect:
Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
Damage: 2d6 + 8 ⇒ (6, 6) + 8 = 20
Splash damage 10, reflex DC 16 for 1/2.
Mortimer_The_Old |
Reflex Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Well, now I'm being cooked before being eaten.
Mortimer will go full defensive.
Slothy controls his trembling long enough to draw out the scroll of obscuring mist. He then tries to shove it into Mortimer's hand:
Seriously dude, let's gtfo
Brawncho_The_Brawncho |
Stupid little man, die already so I can throw that tick at that other goblin!
Rage,PA, attacking War2
Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
Damage: 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (1, 3) + 12 = 16
Gabby_The_Great |
Gabby stares in awe at the conflagration in front of her...then snaps out of it and shoots the boss in the head.
Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18 (vs touch)
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Then she moves back next to Larry, trying to hide under an overhang in the cliff so she'll make a less inviting target than that big dumb bag of hit points standing in the open.
Alan Giorgi |
Nodding to his boss at his command, Ranger Gob quickly notches one arrow after another, shifts his sight slightly and fires at Larry:
Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 9 + 1 - 2 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 9 + 1 - 2 - 4 = 18
Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 9 + 1 - 2 - 4 ⇒ (8) + 9 + 1 - 2 - 4 = 12
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Fakraay Utru upon seeing his will delivered, begins casting CLW on his bleeding mount.
CombatCasting: 1d20 + 4 + 3 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 3 + 4 = 19, if needed.
1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
The mount, feeling much better, rises and moves away from the horribly noisy, bomb tossing enemies.
R11 - Larry, Mortimer, Brawncho
Alan Giorgi |
Upon second thought, you are correct, I did not take into account the exact positions Larry and Gabby were in relation to the Ranger and his elevated position. Considering each is small and using partial or greater cover as well as elevation changes, lets say that the Ranger, nor Larry and Gabby can see each other at all. Assume the shots continued against Brawncho for 22 and 16, respectfully, to-hit. In that same vein, Larry and Gabby would have to move south 5' have visibility to fire. Does that seem fair? I assume both hit Brawncho's awesome AC? I'll let you manage the damage (-6 and -7 HP) as I don't know if you applied it to Larry already and need to fix. The trials and tribulations of working Paizo, pfsrd20 and rolld20 on a laptop screen while "working". Mia Culpa; will you ever forgive my infinite faults? To bad I don't care.

Mortimer_The_Old |
Hmm...that tick wandered off again. Stupid curative magics. Let me see where it went.
Mortimer's standard is to put his eye in the sky back on. His move will depend on where the tick-monster is. Larry delays until after Mortimer and his action will depend on what Mortimer whispers to him about the tick-location.
Alan Giorgi |
Mortimer "casts his spell" by tying a balloon to Slothy and having him float lazily into the air to point out enemies, MEEP, meeeeeeeeeppppp....../meep. meep meep meepymeeep [WHATTHE, nooooooooo...../sigh. creepy enemy spotted.] Slothy points to two locations where enemies are sighed then hangs on his string, dejected, reconsidering what his parents warning about his choices in wanting to be familiar. "A world of adventure", the flier had promised, and the Familiar's Readjustment Act of 3944, or W.I Bill, promised a range of benefits for him and his family.
Larry_Leadgut |
Larry has ascended the mountain. He can make it to there if it's just difficult terrain.
Can he see the tick? If so, he lobs a molotov cocktail at him.
If not, he'll aim in that general direction.
Alan Giorgi |
Yes, all grey, rocky squares and half squares should be considered difficult terrain. If Larry makes it onto grey land with his stubby legs then Larry sees the nimble tick that seems to have no issues with this terrain and he considers a new mount as he tosses. If he does not then his viability is blocked by the rock as similar to the Ranger question.
Larry_Leadgut |
That would make a fine mount, but it will also burn exceptionally well.
Another Alchemist's Fire at the tick...
Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
Damage: 1d6 + 1 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 5 + 1 = 8
8 damage to the tick, 8 splash to the rider, DC16 RSv for 1/2.
Brawncho_The_Brawncho |
Brawncho looks down at the arrows penetrating his manly hide. In fact, the tiny sword that goblin stabbed himself looks like an arrow through his cloud of rage. He looks up at the goblin holding the bow, and rage-charges up the hill after him.
Technically not a charge b/c of difficult terrain and the gimp leg, so you get to watch an angry Brawncho carefully pick his way up the hill, then go rawr and have to wait to smash because his heel is really killing him.
Rawr! No more pincushion for you!
Gabby_The_Great |
Don't get yourself killed, Larry! I'd hate to have to find another goblin to throw fire for me!
They just won't quite be the same...
Gabby walks up the hill and takes a shot at the tick-beast. Even if it looks dead, she wants to make damn sure this time.
Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
She doesn't have a chance to reload at the end of her turn because she already used her move action.
Alan Giorgi |
Fakraay Utru, now burning softly whispers something and the Ranger nods. Also seeing a lumbering oaf storming and steaming his large and loud way, and remembering what his hammer did to his peers, the Ranger silently withdraws.
Fakraay Utru begins casting CLW on his bleeding mount again.
CLW: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
The mount's busted legs begin working again, it creepily rises again and continues to move away from the group.
R12 - Larry, Mortimer, Brawncho
Mortimer_The_Old |
The oaf has a point. Even a monkey throwing feces at a canvas eventually creates a work that would please Shelyn. These Goblins are unusually quiet.
Kn:Local: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
Does Mortimer recognize them as some specific tribe?
Alan Giorgi |
They appear to be members of a side branch of Thistletop Tribe you do not recognize, they have symbols of a stylized grinning, knife-like, half moon partially covered obscured by blood red clouds. They wear shadowy garb of the forests move with far more grace and tactics than you have seen before. You can study them more once we are out of rounds.
Larry_Leadgut |
Can I still see the tick? If so, bomb. If not, then follow and bomb.
Wizened elder, can you see the tick? If so, where should I direct my fusillade to maximize the potential for an arachnid conflagration?
Brawncho_The_Brawncho |
Come here little Goblin, stop running from Brawncho!
Mortimer stops raging because while infuriating, it's not the right kind of infuriating to keep the blood hot. He raged for 3 rounds, so will be fatigued for 6. :-(
