If you guys want to know each other before hand, that makes things a bit smoother. Not required though.
Tlaezicuilolli (a painting made with blood) is the slides for the game. Not much there now, but if you can verify that you can open it and see the blood splatter that would be appreciated.
Also feel free to dot into gameplay.

I can see the Tlaezicuilolli.
So it looks like...
Galtar - Warlock
Lidras - Hexblade Warlock
Daniel - Monk/Rogue
Ken - Paladin or Cleric, or Fighter or Ranger
KingHotTrash - ???
Lidras, is that from the Sword Coast book?

I played a very enjoyable wild magic sorcerer, and I am currently playing a wizard in my in person group. :)
I'm getting the feel for a druid now, so I think I'll go that route unless the party balance needs something else. How are you doing hit points? Max at first level, average+1 each level after that?

Galtar Gorbesh |

I need to spend a little of the cash still, but here is what I am thinking.
So full at 1st level (8), plus Con bonus * 5 (5), plus 4d8.
Hit Points: 4d8 + 8 + 5 ⇒ (5, 4, 6, 1) + 8 + 5 = 29
Taking 5 instead of the 4 and the 1. 8d1 + 5 + 5 + 6 + 5 + 5 ⇒ (1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1) + 5 + 5 + 6 + 5 + 5 = 34

Geez, I always forget something, thanks. Max first level, then roll once per level. If roll is less than average take average, otherwise take roll. Definitely a fan of druids.
Lvl 1: 8+4=12
Lvl 2: HP: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9Lvl 3: HP: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Lvl 4: HP: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Lvl 5: HP: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
HP: 12+12+10+9+8=51

Pisco |

Well if anyone want to have some background with Pisco, he was taken as a cub by Amnish adventures who sold him to a pirate. When the pirate ship was finally taken by a Waterhavian galley, he decided to join the crew who freed him as a sailor. For several years he traveled with the ship, until he learned of an expatiation heading back to his homeland. Taking all his savings, he purchased passage on the ship.

So, I completely passed on 4th edition early on and missed the part where Maztica no longer existed. During that time, it was "Returned Abeir" when Abeir merged with Toril. But now Maztica is back again.
Yada-yada-yada, the interesting part is that Maztica was transported to Abeir during this time. So, your character could actually be from Abeir (a primordial dimension).
Here's kind of a funny writeup someone did on the matter:
Before the first bit of the Forgotten Realms was ever released way back in the day, when creating the books the TSR people thought that the world should be the first thing in the books glossary. Given that its name was Toril and the glossary was in alphabetical order that was difficult. So they added "Abeir" in front of it and made up something to explain it.
Later they added a big amount of extra worldbuilding detailing the planet of Toril and added america/matztica (including some colonies from the old world), the far east/Kara-tur, Arabia/Al Quadim and more. And then those parts of the setting were forgotten again and never got more material. So when after 3rd edition the FR design team at wizards thought about how to make the Realms more interesting they decided to cut out all the areas people didn't care for and that never were popular.
As for that they went beck to the "Abeir-Toril" thing and some of the old explanations, creating the parallel world of Abeir where basically the equivalent of the greek Titans went to when the gods too Toril. They had a magic catastrophe interplanar happen to explain some of the more drastic changes and changed some geography. Matztica got replaced with a new continent full of draconic and elemental rulers and people as did Mulhorand and a few other places. Kara-tur and Al Quadim however stayed were presumably also affected in some ways and as before not talked much about.
Those lands got exchanged with corresponding parts of Abeir, so the Matztican tribes of native americans were suddenly in a world full of dragons and elemental lords and with no way to contact their gods. What happened then nobody knows as that isn't part of the Fr setting to a degree anybody wrote anything.
The undoing of the changes is basically "Everything is as it was, the bad things were undone and it is all better now. So let's not talk about it" As before there is little said about these places and nobody knows anything, but the whole "undoing" thing with 5e is basically a way calm the people upset at their Realms being changed while still allowing authors to make changes if needed. Given there hasn't been much of setting material published what actually changed si mostly up in the air.
1361 Maztica discovered
1385 Spellplague that switched around geography (including Maztica)
1395 Maztica returns
1487 Word of the lost continents returning reaches the Sword Coast
1491 current year
edit: Guess it would be even weirder if you were a Maztica native of about 150-200 years old. All of a sudden warped to another dimension filled with dragons and demons, losing all contact with gods for 40 years...

Pisco, that sounds great. I think you have another language to pick.
Anyways don't feel too pressured to work on a backstory or anything, its usually better to just start playing and make it up as you go. Plus its a short module.
I'll get the first post in gameplay tomorrow night.

Not sure if you'd allow this, but...
Lidras has Resistance Fire. Which is *really* good. Can I trade it for Trance?
As I see it, whatever it is that changed Lidras could have easily burnt out his fey ancestry advantages. However, Trance *feels* really elven. It doesn't give much in the way of mechanical benefits, as warlocks get their slots back after a short rest anyways.

Sorry, just at that point of 90% done with a character so the “Do I want to commit to this concept?” cold feet start. ;)
But I’ll be a fighter and will get an intro up in the morning.
And you GMing is the reason I wanted to jump in on this. You are definitely great at getting and keeping momentum going on PbP! So no worries about getting things started.

GM Infinity |

Thanks Cloud, trying to keep things interesting and really enjoy GMing 5e compared to pathfinder.
Looks good Katra. I think that's the first time I've seen an AC that high in 5e.
The site has been off and on for me last few days, but I found I can usually get in typing "https://www.paizo.com" instead of "http://www.paizo.com" if anyone else having same issue.

Up to you, but there are certainly dragonborn on the continent both native and foreign. Foreign ones maybe heard about how Maztica was warped to a realm of dragons (Abeir) and back again. There is a certain percentage of dragonborn that is slightly higher than normal one might notice. Foreigners would be headed south into the jungle.

Cloudrunner, I think that you still need to pick an uncommon magic item. As your character was a soldier, might I suggest the sentinel shield? It gives you advantage on initiative and perception tests. That certainly feels like something that a soldier would have. Plus, it gives you +5 passive perception (due to the advantage). I could certainly see such a shield being given to the vanguard of an army.
Or perhaps a Periapt of Wound Closure? As a fighter you get second wind. This doubles what you heal. It also auto stabilizes you. For a soldier on the front lines, I could see this as being a (literal) lifesaver.

Thanks, I have some ideas already but just didn’t get a chance to make a decision on that as well as spending some gold. But didn’t want to draw out my intro even longer since i won’t be able to finalize that all until sometime later tonight. Thanks!

When you are nearly at the temple, the sound of creatures crashing through the underbrush comes from behind you. You turn around to see people moving through the woods toward the clearing around the pyramid.
Then, suddenly, the earth shudders and gapes open beneath your feet and you are falling amid the roar of collapsing masonry. Dust fills the air and the light disappears as the darkness swallows you...
Are these people we see like the villagers, or the demons? Do they seem to take notice/react to us at all?
Do any of them appear to have made the fall with us?

Heads up today, its parent/teacher conferences at my school so I will either be:
1. Not posting hardly at all because of so many parents
2. Posting lots because so few parents came
There is no middle ground. Usually a crazy day, and wont be home (in my comfortable posting position) until very late.
