After selling the Alchemist Fire, I was able to purchase the LB. Someone needs to claim the Sickle if we are not selling it.

HP 2/15 | AC 15; Saves STR, CON; Perception +2; Init +2

I will do it! I will take the ring to Mordor!

Ill grab the sickle and potion.

Sweet lord, what are these Duergar made of? I've piled enough hurt on this guy to kill me twice over. Is this really a WOTC adventure?

Lantern Lodge

Male

Yes, run strictly by the guidelines.

HP 2/15 | AC 15; Saves STR, CON; Perception +2; Init +2

What happens for a TPK in adventure league?

Lantern Lodge

Male

At level's 1-4 your guild will revive you for free, but at the cost of nothing gained from the adventure.

Let's make sure that don't happen!

I do hope all is well. If you need some more time, just say the word...I can wait. I am enjoying the game so far.

Hmm, did I read that the duergar does not have disadvantage for being prone? I believe Kelend can grapple, and then knock prone the duergar while not being prone himself. Effectively, 1 hand is holding the duergar on the ground, while still remaining standing. I believe in that case, that your second d20 of a 1, turns his crit into a miss. Thoughts?

Lantern Lodge

Male

See I was just reading it as you grabbed him and knocked him over either releasing the hold or going prone yourself. Looking at it from my MMA background it is impossible to control a weapon and a shield and your opponent on the ground without going prone yourself. I will have to look over the rules and get back to you.

Lantern Lodge

Male

He either has disadvantage from being prone and advantage from you being prone which cancel out or he has disadvantage and then gets up and negates the grapple. But like I said I'll get back to you later on.

Lantern Lodge

Male

Okay kelend I have looked at the rules for shoving and grappling and I am going to rule in your favor solely because you stated that you sheathed your sword, no crit he missed you.

Thanks DaWay!

Sorry for not posting every day. Sometimes I forget I'm supposed to post if I don't feel I have anything to contribute that would actually move things along. I'm usually more of a lurker on boards, but I really like to play. I will try to post more regularly.

HP 2/15 | AC 15; Saves STR, CON; Perception +2; Init +2

I friggin' knew it with the were-beasts.

Lantern Lodge

Male

not exactly, they are jackalweres, a separate creature that is not cursed with lycanthropy.

Male Human Bard AC16, HP 1/10 THP0 Init:+3 PP:12 Spells: 1: 0/2 Bardic Insp: 0/3 DS: 0/0

Any particular reason why they have advantage against Kelend? Some special feature of the creatures? Or is there a special rule about creatures grappling grant advantage?

Lantern Lodge

Male

Pack Tactics grant advantage whenever an ally is threatening their target.

Ok cool :)

Sorry missed it, it ran together with the other posts. You should really think about getting an avatar.

I can't find one I like. Is there a blank one, solid white? Or an upload option? I haven't seen any.

Lantern Lodge

Male

There are literally thousands. Surely one or two depict a drow.

HP 2/15 | AC 15; Saves STR, CON; Perception +2; Init +2

Is sleeping the same as in Pathfinder?

None that I like. I can be very picky about my avatars. That's why I had to buy and paint my own minis - nothing else was quite right.

Male Human Bard AC16, HP 1/10 THP0 Init:+3 PP:12 Spells: 1: 0/2 Bardic Insp: 0/3 DS: 0/0

Someone can spend a standard action to wake you up

Lantern Lodge

Male

yes, spending an action or taking damage wakes you, so same as pathfinder.

I assume that it is this game, DaWay?

Lantern Lodge

Male

correct

Well, I've got a couple of characters I can throw in. Fandryn is a Dragonborn Sorcerer but I also have a Tiefling Warlock. I'm happy to play either but you know the group better, so which would be the better fit?

Also, do you want to finish out this adventure first, or shall I just jump right in?

Lantern Lodge

Male

Going to finish this one, it is this battle and wrap up.
Whichever you wish, it seems you want to play in Aesheera's game with your Dragonborn, but ultimately the choice is yours.

Well I can't deny that I fancy giving the Warlock a spin, even if Aesheera's game is full. I'll give him a profile and then wait for the go ahead.

Introducing Malikar the Red, tiefling warlock extraordinaire!

Welcome, Malikar!

Just a note: I may or may not have a lot of time to post this weekend - my sister and her family are coming to town, and I will be spending a lot of time with my nephew (he's two and a half and tons of fun). But I will be checking things.

Glad to be on board Alyks!

From what I've seen Warlocks are great fun.

I figured I was very close to one of my sleeping allies. I wouldn't have given up grappling the jackalwere to wake him up. Could I have waken up my other ally? This is definitely one of the challenges of PbP. But to be clear, in the rules, you are able to drag a grappled enemy at half of your speed.

http://5thsrd.org/combat/making_an_attack/

Moving a Grappled Creature. When you move, you can drag or carry the grappled creature with you, but your speed is halved, unless the creature is two or more sizes smaller than you

HP 2/15 | AC 15; Saves STR, CON; Perception +2; Init +2

Thorgund I'll give you the scimitar if you want to add it to your sheet.

He's just borrowing it...but thank you.

Male Human Bard AC16, HP 1/10 THP0 Init:+3 PP:12 Spells: 1: 0/2 Bardic Insp: 0/3 DS: 0/0

Oh, am i reading this wrong?? Does it say that an action is required to maintain? It if already pretty low powered, an action to grab, and usually another action to knock prone. Can i get a quick run down of the grapple rules from your point of view, DaWay? Just so we don't hit this situation anymore in the future.

Lantern Lodge

Male

Man is this conversation getting tiring. You grappled and shoved, you had a few options from grapple such as move, pin, shove prone or damage. Instead you wanted to use an action to go help an ally out and wake him which was fine. You never stated you wanted to maintain the grapple while doing so because of your lack of attention to detail I assumed you prioritized that over the grapple.

Because in your post it says you drag the jackal were over. Nowhere does it say you were holding onto him.

End of discussion.

@Adyl - Yes I can heal him, but that would blow my last 1st level slot, and I don't know when we'll be able to rest again. Alternately, I can cast Spare the Dying and stabilize him. Unless someone has has a healing potion or something. What do you recommend?

HP 2/15 | AC 15; Saves STR, CON; Perception +2; Init +2

I've got a potion

Do you recommend using it now, or ...? I don't think resting in the middle of an enchanted forest is really a good idea...nor is carrying an unconscious comrade...

HP 2/15 | AC 15; Saves STR, CON; Perception +2; Init +2

I already used it, we can continue on.

yeah, sorry for the delay. I hate being sick. but at least i got to stay home from work today...

Temporary hit points are coming from:

Inspiring Leader:

You can spend 10 minutes inspiring your companions,
shoring up their resolve to fight. When you do so, choose
up to six friendly creatures (which can include yourself)
within 30 feet of you who can see or hear you and who
can understand you. Each creature can gain temporary
hit points equal to your level + your Charisma modifier.
A creature can’t gain temporary hit points from this feat
again until it has finished a short or long rest.

Lantern Lodge

Male

Malikar go ahead and join in.

The Prophecy

Quote:

There is a message from this land's new master, but it is hidden five-fold.

New Master?
The first is at the place where dandelions rise above and cover the people. The virile and the virulent can be one and the same. The hell-tinged one is lost, and then several are found.
Farbough Farms. It must be!
The second runs red with the blood of roots, where an heiress lies and hides her pain in long wooden boxes. She hides more than that though, but only to keep what is hers.
Beets? Goodroot, perhaps?
The third is at the spring of blessed life, where the haunters protect and the protectors haunt. The water runs on, of course, and must be freed for all.
The Spring of Blessed Life. Rumored to be haunted.
The fourth holds the great thundering beasts, but the beasts are gone, to give way to a greater thundering beast with death in its eyes. They await at a place of ancient elven evil.
Rothés? Undead?
The fifth lies where the ancients lie beneath night's marble, forgotten but not gone. The lost wealth of a forgotten time pays terrible dividends now.
A temple of Waukeen? Definitely not Tymora…

Lantern Lodge

Male

They are currently on the fourth.
