Whaugh! Amelia says as she tumbles down the steep slope and into the brambles. Painfully standing back up, she raises her head only to see a dragon's head framed by pixie-like wings. Riddywipple then? 'Funny's not the word I'd lay down. I tend to prefer a pun or impression to 'made-you-looks', especially when the glance the other way distracts from a long step down.

Luckily only Garrett and Eramos are in real danger and they made their safes. Amelia and the Wizard were close but could be helped by Guk and Galandro who saw the danger.
The little dragon replies."Well, you are on my turf, and how do I know that you are no enemies, but you helped each other and that is a good sign. You know how dangerous the forest has become with all this undead?"

"Hmmm, I suppose you have to be careful, living alone in the forest. Did you also put that piece of metal down there to distract people?"

Very dangerous I'd imagine. Amelia says, somewhat less frustrated in tone as she picks up on Riddywipple's nervousness.
Luckily we're not enemies. She holds out a hand. Amelia Acher, Kortos Chronicle. We from the Pathfinder Society. Got sent out here to help out old Ignizi but apparently the dead aren't staying that way and made off with one of her friends. I'm sure she'd be pleased as a peach to hear you're all right though.
As she talks of the undead, Amelia reminds herself to get a club, and starts pulling at nearby branches to find one with good heft.
Can I acquire a club in these woods. Wouldn't mind a weapon that's not awful in case more skeletons abound.
| Aurora the Fairydragon |
Riddiywipple smiles at you. "Yes, yes I am Riddywiplle Aurora."
Garret sees a ring on a skeleton down there and Amelia finds a thick branch quite useful as a club.
"I like you. I really do! Well you can make camp here at my fallen log and while you wait I will ask around among my fey forest friends." Weaving a good bye fly he adds."I will wake you in the morning and we find the source by first daylight!"
Garret
|
"Does anyone know anything about this ring?"
Garret gets a small fire going and prepares a meal

As Riddywipple flies off, Amelia turns to the others.
I'm not sure I quite understand the dragon's sense of humor, but I think he means well. Can't say the same from all these undead out there though. Do you think Dijjit can afford to have us camp here and wait another day?
Guk
|
Guk blinks twice at the pseudodragon, then bursts out: "You are nothing short of amazing, *Ribbit*-wipple. You and I are going to get along great! So, will you help us find the missing Pathfinder?"
| Aurora the Fairydragon |
The next morning Riddywipple returns.
" In the night last night, I flew over to my friendly pixie friend Pollinia, a trixie youngster who lit out with me for a bit of a fly-around, where we chatted about all the happy happenings in the forest as well as some untidy tidings. As it turns out, the carved cave near my pegasi friendlies has a new body that everybody agrees is disagreeable. The old cold cavern used to be used by humans long before long ago, but it's been empty as a log si nee then. " Now it seems an unseemly creature has wandered in from the bit of bog near Wartle and taken to torturing and terrifying the forest. The monster's name is Marigana, and trappers chased her from her Wartle morass after she kidnapped some napping kids from the town and turned them into deadly undead. Now she's taken up taking over Sanos, and wants to spread her terrible territory. We can make a joint journey to see the poisonous new occupant, but it will be doubtlessly undeadly."
Wizard of the Coast
|
"Well this is a handy item... it helps you craft traps, and more importantly, disable devices... I'd like to hang onto it if no one objects.. at least for now." He slips it on his finger and hopes it's not one of those tricky cursed items that only SEEMS to be something special.
Garret
|
"Errr, so there is a undead monster called Marigana who is the cause of all this? We should lay it to rest permanently! How far away do you think it is for us who walk?"
Wizard of the Coast
|
"I agree Garret... although we don't know she herself is undead, only that she makes undead... she could be a necromancer... but whatever the actual situation, we need to stop her. Your guidance along the way would be most welcome, Riddywipple! Thank you for offering to accompany us."
Galandaro Tinalmathian
|
Wizard- are you still injured? according to your stat line it says you are down HP. If so I will expend one use of my infernal healing wand to get you back up
Galandaro puts a book away and will walk with the group towards the desired location.
Wizard of the Coast
|
yeah, but I have a wih too, I'll just use a charge, thanks for the reminder.
Amelia Acher
|
Marigana. Amelia says. Well, at least the fiend has a name now. Always better to have a name for a thing; strips the mystique from them, makes it a real thing and real thing's can be beat.
Even as they walk towards the cavern in question, Amelia continues to pepper Riddywiple with questions. Did Pollinia know how the Marigana is making the undead? Is she a necromancer? Or you said she's 'poisonous': is that because of her personality or should we be worried about a toxin?
| Aurora the Fairydragon |
Rippywipple replies."None of us is quite sure what sort of creature Marigana is, but she has been seen with an entourage of skeletons and zombies, which leads us to suspect she has necromantic powers. Marigana lived in the swamp near Wartle, but the locals chased her off after she started stealing children from the town to add to her zombie horde. Now
she's moved into Sanos and is beginning to carve out an undead territory."
Riddywipple looks at the rising sun and smiles. "If you are ready... we should move out and use the sunlight!"
Garret
|
"Let's go. Can you warn us when we are getting close?"
Garret will cast barkskin and ask for another tap of mage armor when the group is close to where the undead are supposed to be (within 10 minutes distance)
Wizard of the Coast
|
Mage armor seems like a good idea to Kel, too, and he casts it on himself.
| Helikon |
Riddywipple tells you that they are approaching the home of his longtime friends, pegasi who might be able to offer assistance in defeating the
undead. You follows an overgrown road until they reach a muddy, reedy lake surrounded by underbrush and large stones.
As you approach, you see the silhouettes of statuesque pegasi grazing in the glade. However, as you grow closer, you see that the pegasi are covered in deep wounds and dried blood, and that they graze not upon grass, but upon the carcass of a fallen creature. The blood-encrusted pegasi turn their attention to you and clumsily lift into the air.
Seeing this Riddywipple lets out a heartcrushing scream."NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

Looks like we posted nearly at the same time. Sorry!

Amelia moves to position herself under cover from the pegasi, but her thoughts are momentarily filled with a fixation on the lake. The cool, calm, refreshing lake. And I do need a bath....
The reporter shakes the thoughts away quickly, but the feeling is strange. There's something fishy about that lake there! Seems like something wants us to go inside it - and based on our luck so far I don't think it's just for a nice chat.
She looks to the sky warily.

Better avoid it for now, at least until we've handled these three. I'm sorry Riddywipple but your friends are gone now. We'll take care of stopping more form having the same fate, but right now we need to put them to rest!
Amelia will begin lecturing what she knows (from the Knowledges above) about the undead pegasi.
Starting Bardic Performance about the pegasi. +2 to attacks, AC, and saves.
