Monster Conversion Booklet

Alpha Release 1 General Discussion

We will probably have to wait quite a while until we see the Pathfinder Monster Manual.
On the other hand would it be possible to make an Update Booklet for the SRD monsters (similar to the one WotC did for MM2 and similar products during the change 3.0->3.5). This would only need to indicate which feats are changed/added, how the new skills are distributed, if any of the abilities got changed (stuff like poison, etc. could be dealt with in a general part of that booklet instead of for each individual monster) and how the CR of the monster is changed due to the now more resilient base classes and PCs.
This would help a great deal in play testing the alpha rules as this would allow us to much better run old adventures in the new system without converting every single creature.

This could of course also be done for other stuff, like important critters from the Tomes of Horrors or the Advanced Bestiary.

They're not working on monsters until after PRPG is done. If you find monsters are too weak, just give them a class level of something or increase the CR of the encounter, or give them more HP.

Can't offer any suggestions on skills until the skill system is finalized. :)

I think one way to do this is to develop a Pathfinder template to apply to existing monsters quickly to get them up to PC's power level for CR balance. I don't know what that would consist of at the moment, but once the full alpha rules are out I plan on trying to devise one.
