Sacred Fist Warpriest, the more different resource points to manage, the better :D

I have some unreasonable dislike to being beholden to some sentient being. Kind of keeps me away from the whole divine thing.

Hunters and Shamans work best for me.

I love me some cleric. After that probably Paladin.

There's a reason my usual Username isn't Kayerloth but Doomguide, in particular mine was a masterful archer and scout.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Inquisitors by far. They're got a bit of everything and if they come short in an area, judgement can fix that.

Oracles and druids have tons of ways to build them. Paladin is fun if the player isn't playing lawful stupid and the gm isn't out to find any excuse to make them fall.

Frankly, I keep forgetting the ranger is a divine class since its casting is just about the least of its features.

I would definitely say that my top 5 Divine Casters would be Shaman(I Love this class to bits not cuz its a 9th level caster, but because of the Spirits), Oracles(Same reasons as the Shaman except I Love the Curses as well as the Mysteries), Reliquarian Occultists(because Implements are awesome), Hunters(for the Animal Companion Love!), and Inquisitors(for just being plain Fun).

Cleric - I'd love it more if there were a feat or item that would allow channel healing and still take an action in the same round. Too often, the GM uses too many Blaster enemies, and Cleric becomes Healbot. Why do they have all these cool Domain powers if their action every round is "heal"?

Paladin - incredible offensive power, and a fun roleplaying challenge. I'm lucky that my regular GMs are Paladin players themselves. The times I've played Pallys, I've never had an issue with Code Violations or Kobayashi Maru Falls.
And some of the best games I've ever played in had a Pally/Rogue pairing where the Pally knows the Rogue is keeping secrets, but the Rogue is working toward the greater good and keeps his unlawful activities quiet. The players have generally loved those campaigns.

I'd like to try a Warpriest, but I'm not sure about Inquisitor or Oracle. Quizzies don't seem to have enough healing, and I haven't quite got a hand on where they would shine. Oracles - I don't like the drawback. I understand it, I know why it is there. But I haven't found one I want to play.

Druids - too many bad Droods and Nature loving clerics, wild elves, etc. back in 2nd Ed. for my tastes.

Shadow Lodge

I think I'm Gnostic rather than Orthodox in my divine class preferences. I like the ones that feel like the person talks/feels/understands the divine at a bone deep level, as opposed to those who have gone to seminary for four years or so. So I tend to like---

Oracle/Shaman--This comes closest to what I feel like a close personal relationship with the divine looks/feels like. This is the person who talks to god or seeks it out or are asked.

Druids--the connection to the natural world feels.

Witch--Though it's not technically a divine class, the feel is there.

Ranger/Hunter

As opposed to---

Cleric, War Priest, Inquisitor, Paladin. That said if I can come up with a good background to make the connection feel "organic" I'm okay either way. For example, I'm using my changeling boon in PFS on a Chosen One Paladin of Falayna because the origin story of her future familar warning her off from her "mother" seems organic.

I pve clerics. So many role playing options, so much variety in approach, so much role playing fun doing different gods’ approaches to things.
