Item creator here. So... the answer is both yes and no.
The special ability doesn't specify the base shield needing to deal bludgeoning damage, so you're fine there. I believe their attacks are still classified as shield bashes, so still good. However... since bashing can only be applied to "light or heavy" shields by RAW, and the dwarven war-shield lacks that classification, it's technically not a legal effect. (A home game GM could easily houserule it, but PFS does not offer that option.)
If I recall, their base damage is fairly competitive anyway, and you're also getting the increased shield bonus. Dealing with DR could be an issue, of course.
Hopefully that helps. Sorry to disappoint. ^_^

Thanks for the response Isabelle! I am not disappointed. You phrased the answer much better than I phrased the question. I was trying to wrap my head around how a war-shield works from a rules perspective.
Based on the above, the war-shield's attacks are considered shield bashes, so they would be usable with the Improved Shield Bash chain of feats. I just can't apply the Bashing property. I can handle that.
Thanks!

Sorry for the necro, but a heavy shield does d4 on a bash attack; a spiked heavy shield does d6, and does not stack with bashing. A warshield is a light weapon, and does a d6 on a bash attack. Bashing, if legal, would make it deal 2d6 as a light weapon.
EDIT: I double checked, because I looked this up a year and a half ago, and I believe it does not stack because Spiked Heavy Shield has an armor/weapon entry separate from a Heavy Shield, thus it cannot be applied to a Spiked Heavy Shield. If this ruling stands, then the best you could do is an Impact Heavy Shield (minimum +3 enhancement bonus to accommodate the +2 price of Impact). Kind of expensive for a light weapon that does 1d8, but it counts for any shield bashing feat I can think of.
