Shocking Grasp

Rules Questions

If a snake had a child grappled and the Wizard
hit it with a Shocking Grasp would the child be hit with the
spell as well?

Would the electricity transfer through both?
And the Snake is wet and slimy...

no,

You can target a fish in a lake, pool, ocean or river and you only damage it and nothing else.

No, Shocking Grasp affects only the creature touched.

Even if this were real and not magical electricity, the child would still be unlikely to be affected by it. Electricity takes the path of least resistance to ground, and if your contact point was the snake it is unlikely that the child would form such a path, and thus the electricity would not pass through him or her.

If you're having trouble with it, remember that it's magic. Also its a game and putting in too many rules slows it down and makes it less fun. We don't usually track where an arrow goes if you miss your target, even though it could hit that child behind the snake.

Phew, I almost missed our weekly "dead baby" thread.

Close one!
(yeah a snake and a child was a pretty specific example)

Also just FYI sankes aren't usually wet or slimy. This one might have been though ...

If it is a goblin baby that is also a fallen paladin then I think we've completed the weekly checklist.

Are you the sort of DM who wants that level of realism? Or are you the type obsessed with RAW for pathfinder society who doesn't believe velocity of an object with substantial mass means it does any damage because there isn't a rule that says it does?

Or are you the "I just want to have fun and move on type, so what's the most fun?" type?

Or you could be the "had a few drinks and is about to crash but still wants to post on paizo just cause" type?

Just FYI, there are actually rules for that sort of thing.
