Startoss Style & Martial Versatility

Rules Questions

If I take "startoss style: daggers", can I then take Martial Versatility to allow me to use startoss style with all weapons from the "light blades" weapon group? (Provided I'm throwing the weapons)

I allowed this. But I think you might have to chalk it up to table variation and discuss it with your GM.

I would allow it in a home game for sure but Stargin is right if your doing this in a home game check with the GM, if for PFS I would recommend a backup weapon just in case.

The issue is that Martial Versatility is open ended as to if the other weapons would have to qualify for the prereqs of the feat chosen. Compare to Weapon Specialist AWT which says you get the legal choices from the weapon group. And It wouldn't be unreasonable for a GM to rule versatility to follow that same logic.

I'll make a FAQ thread for this later on tonight, because this comes up way more than it should.

Thread made, head over to FAQ it.

Darksol that isn't the problem. No one is trying to take a feat that only works with one weapon and make it work with others. He is wanting to take a feat that only works in one group and apply it to another group by choosing a weapon that is in more than one group.

Martial Versatility doesn't say the other weapons chosen have qualify for the feat I am choosing. If I take Martial Versatility for Startoss Style(dagger as chosen weapon) can I apply the feat to all weapons in the Light Blades group even the ones that aren't in the Thrown Group.
