New PC build help

Advice

A new player is joining our current game, and wants to play a Stealth/Archery/Magic build at level six.

I told him that this wouldn't be quite effective until level 12 or so, but he is pretty adamant about it.

I told him i would look into making him an effective build for it, but i have no idea to construct such a widely unfocused character.

And now i'm here, Help?

Ninja.

Use Ki as magic, take the one that does swift-action invisibility and maybe some other ninja tricks that do spells, like Minor Magic and Major Magic. Maybe go pyromancer gnome for some racial spells too.

best bet would be to look at one of the Prestige class
http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/coreRulebook/prestigeClasses.html

Sugesstions: Assassin: Shadowdancer: can be done by 6th level

But I think Arcane Trickster is your best bet now it will need a total of 7th level

At 6th player would be 3rd wizard and 3rd Rogue so can still do what he wants but has a build to focus on at later levels to develop the character and class

But I think it is what you looking for as give the character a good mix of Sneaking ability, Spells and ability to hit and damage

Think about invisability to help with stealth and (true strike + Silent Spell) will do the job

Race Elf for the +2 dex / +2 Int and the Weapon Prof Bows also take a look at the Alternate Racial Traits Silent Hunter.

Stealthy- easiest requirement to meet. Hes going to be an archer and a spellcaster so you already have the necessary ingredients. Dex + Invisibility + max ranks in stealth. Easy enough to get +30 by lv3

Magic- requires caster levels and a couple of feats. The question here is how much magic does he want. I'm assuming he wants arcane spellcasting because it contains most iconic fantasy spells. For 9th level caster see below

1. Early Entry EK. Depending on how optimized the rest of your table is and how powerful you are ok with your players being, let him use early entry tricks to get into eldritch knight. Fighter 1 + Wizard Lv1-5(depending on your preference). This gives a near full bab character with nearly full spellcasting. A few extra feats but almost no class abilities

2. Hellknight Signifier. Gives moderate BAB and the ability to use armor(reasonably). No caster level drop if your willing to pay all your feats

3. Lv1 snakebite brawler + lv3 Wizard + LvX Arcane Trickster with Accomplished Sneak Attacker. Low BAB and difficulty of getting ranged sneak attacks are the issues here. Focus on volleys of arrows and getting sneak attack

4. Wizard VMC Oracle into EK with Prestigious Spellcaster. Still no BAB and no sneak attack for extra damage. Pretty sad build actually but no dropped caster levels.

Archer- This is where it starts getting hard. He needs high bab, many feats, good dex, and a decent str. The trick will be mixing this with 9th level casting. Crossbow/guns would be easier but less powerful if he is open to that.

1. Eldritch Archer Magus

2. Arcane Archer- higher BAB version of the magus. Goes online later and is more awkward to build

3. Child of War Fighter

Last note check out Mage's Crossbow if he is ok with using a crossbow

stealthy warpreist archer or a stealthy archer monk with quingon powers would do the trick, but the most optimal one would be a sneaky eldrich archer(magus archetype)

If the player is kinda new my advice is not to mess around complicated things and just guide him to a stealth oriented ranged bard.
With many skill ranks and all the stealthy options as class skills he'll do OK, and he will be able to cast invisibility.
I know that a bard sounds counter intuitive as a stealthy character but I've seen them come to play and they do a great job.
In CoCT I played a ninja and one of my group members was a stealthy bard archer. He never did worse than my character in stealthy missions and I often depended a lot on him to enhance my own stealth capacities.

Does magic mean spells or just magic abilities?

Magus has a nice archetype for a magical archer.

Silver Crusade

He could be an Inquisitor, or did you mean arcane magic?
