Class Feature SLA's

Rules Questions

If a class feature is also a SLA, and allows a saving throw, is the DC automatically based on the user's Cha?

Specifically, I'm asking about the Steal Secrets ability of the Secret Broker Occultist archetype. It's a cool ability, but if the save DC is tied to the Occultist's Cha, and not its Int, it's gonna lose a lot of oomph. Is this the case?

It defaults to Cha if the ability doesn't mention another ability score or formula.
Sorry.

man looking at this, their right that it's cha based since it doesn't say otherwise. BUT I wouldn't have put it past the author to have not remembered that and think it defaults to your casting stat if you have one. Cause those abilities being cha based means that the saves will be low for an occultist.

Cha based. Could also be Con based in certain circumstances (from memory and I can't look it up as I'm on a cell.)

Ask your GM to fix for you.

Since Erase Secret costs Focus from a specific implement to activate, ask your GM if it should count as a focus power, because the Occultist entry on OA reads

Quote:
Unless otherwise noted, the DC for any saving throw against a focus power equals 10 + 1/2 the occultist's level + the occultist's Intelligence modifier.

Not identifying it as a Focus power (since it costs Focus) or otherwise specifying the DC seems like an oversight.
