Using Random Terrain Percentages?

Rules Questions

Hi, I was trying to whip up a quick terrain generator in Google Sheets using random rolls on a grid. The tables (such as the one found here) often add up to over 100%, or not 100%.

I know I can just (have the computer) go square by square, roll a d100 and paint the square a certain color representing the terrain depending on the roll (using conditional formatting), but how do I actually use those terrain tables?

To be specific can someone tell me how to decide using the tables for a medium forest what is in the square? Thanks.

If I am understanding the table correctly, the trees and undergrowth probabilities are independent. A tile may have both trees and undergrowth, one or the other, or neither.
