Where to go with an extreme stat array paladin? PFS

Advice

I've been playing PFS for awhile now but all of my characters are ranged, caster, or support. I have yet to play a melee focused character.
Partly that is because I enjoy Single Attribute Design characters and most melee characters are pretty Multiple Attribute Design since they need Str, Dex, Con, and either Wis for will saves, Int for combat feats, or both.
But I often hear of Paladins who boast of being nearly unkillable with Lay on Hands + Fey Foundling and who boast that they deal 200+ damage a round. Note those boasts are from 2 different paladins.

However Paladin is a very MAD class as a rule. They need the stats I mentioned + a high charisma.

But what if I tried to force the Paladin into near SADness, Focusing on 2 primary stats.

Nagaji are a good choice for this since they get a bonus to the 2 primary stats and once you decide to tank Int there is no difference between a 7 and a 5.

So consider the following stat array.

Strength 16 (18)
Dexterity 7
Constitution 14
Intelligence 7 (5)
Wisdom 7
Charisma 18 (20)

The high charisma helps a lot on all of my saves. Dexterity saves just means I take more damage which I can heal easily. I won't be good at perception but honestly your party wouldn't like traveling with an overly observant Paladin.

The obvious way to go with that array would seem to be a level of Oracle for the Nature's Whispers ability and use my Charisma bonus in place of Dexterity for my AC and CMD.
But while 2 levels of Paladin make a decent dip for some classes, Losing a level of abilities and delaying my casting even further would hurt a lot.

Is a pure Paladin with that stat array ridiculous? Is there an Archetype or build that an array like that would be ideal for?

If you ever run into dex/int/wis damage this will just be sad. I hesitate to have a single stat dump, let alone 3 with one of them at 5.

If memory serves most of a Paladin's damage comes from smite evil. In addition, you've just neutered the advantage to saves you get from Cha. a 20 cha gives you +5 to all saves, but with 7's in dex/wis, you're only getting a +3 over all.

If you went for an 18 cha [start at 16, 7 points less], you could leave Dex/Wis at 10, and have an overall +4 to saves.

You can still get away with a 5 int... but honestly a 5 int character shouldn't be smart enough to be a paragon of their church.

I personally would start at;

STR 14 [16]
Dex 10
Con 14
Int 10 [8]
Wis 10
Cha 16 [18]

Much more balanced. Just my opinion.

The main thing you're missing is Oath of Vengeance for extra smites.

I do tend to agree with some of what Redjack_rose said - there's a lot of pain that you're looking at with that stat array. Some of that is fixed with feats and/or a 1 level Nature or Lore Oracle dip. I would STRONGLY recommend that dip if you're insistent on 7 Dex. In that array, your first level feat should be Noble Scion - War (ISWG) to give you Cha to initiative instead of Dex. 2nd level, dip to Oracle for the appropriate revelation to get CHA to AC. Yes, you will be "behind" in spellcasting, but there's really only one spell you absolutely need to prep (that immediate action LoH when you go unconscious) and you open up a world of wands and basic level 1 casting with that level in Oracle.

Personally, I have no problem with your proposed stat outlay if you take the proper steps to mitigate its risks.

Of course, using the CHA to DEX-stuff feats means no Fey Foundling unless you're willing to be Human instead of Nagaji.

Kind of off topic for PFS, but if I were a BBEG I would LOVE for my enemies to use this stat array. They would be so dumb and gullible that I could just point them at any rival and watch the fireworks while eating popcorn. And if they ever caught wind of me, they have 3 different ability scores that I can target for incredibly easy takedowns.

So its not going to be a big problem in PFS where GM's have a script to follow, but be aware of the major weaknesses that come from dumping...
