So I've been playing as a merciful healer for over a year and will likely change my character soon, be it from dying or retirement. I happen to like the versatility of the Ecclesitheurge, but no AC bonuses are killer. Since my wisdom modifier is already going to be high, I figured I might as well go monk for the Wis to AC. Someone suggested that if I do that, that I take weapon focus, guided hand, power attack, but doing so will rob me of selective channel.

Coming in at level 9:
Ecclesitheurge of Sarenrae 8/Monk 1
Custom Race

Str 14
Dex 16
Con 12
Int 10
Wis 20
Cha 16

AC = 25
Touch = 19 (22 vs incorporeal)
Flat footed = 21

1 channel smite
2 Dodge
3 Guided Hand
5 weapon focus
7 crusaders flurry
9 Power Attack

So between no selective channel and not being sure where to go with feats from here,I ask-any suggestions as to what to do with the character? Was thinking maybe going with Dazzling Display but not sure

Or am I better of ditching the concept entirely?

Maybe if I ditch the custom race and just go human...

It's not a bad concept at all but we do need to fine tune it a bit. First off whoever told you to take channel smite and guided hand with this deity is DEAD wrong. Your style, desire to channel, and more are in conflict and we need to change it around unless this is pure roleplay.

First the trickery domain is your best friend in the world because of mirror images. Even if its not your primary domain choice it's a prefered spell candidate. Sarenrae doesn't have trickery so she is as at a disadvantage. Any other with trickery you might want to play?

Ecclisitheurge is at its best when not using weapons IMO. It can use weapons and use them well but if that's your focus then a crusader or evena vanilla cleric fits better. If your using a scimitar (don't knowing you are) then you want high dex not high wisdom. Also weapon focus is a waste as Sarenrea has heorism which boosts you and the group already so free that up for something else, anything else as your accuracy is already higher than norm for a 3/4 BAB.

Finally get con to 14 if you can even at the expense of strength and power attack. You need to be able to take hits one way or the other. If not with mirror images or such the. Raw health

Its very tempting.... I'm not a fan of the archetype at all but it can be botched to a degree

Essentially do you want to give up a level of casting in favour of what will probably end up being worth +11 AC in the long run..... tempting!

I would give up even trying to hit anything and focus everything on casting.... possibly even ditch channeling (and thus CHA) too

Get your holy bonded item as a ring (there is precedence on this!).... to give you effectively a bonus feat and get craft wonderous ASAP too.... you will need magic items!

Well originally I was planning on only taking the class of monk for the AC bonus when someone pointed me in the direction of that particular batch of feats, with my primary issue with it being it uses all my feats, so like I said, I'm open to suggestions. Con at 14 isnt an issue, could easily do that. What I would then ask, though, is what would you suggest I do instead.

Focus on casting was my original plan. No need to take Craft Wondrous as we have a wizard who can do that, and I believe the bard is about to take Forge Ring. So what would say I should focus on in terms of casting? I'd still like to go the route of Sarenrae, again, for flavor, plus heroism on the party will be great, plus the occasional fireball from me while still having solid heals will be helpful.

My issue is that often times we're in combat and everyone's healthy, thus I have nothing to do, thus why I went for the scimitar.

You have a few options:

1) Go unaligned/Cleric of a "Philosophy".... pick 4 domains and 4 subdomains and mix and match your way

2) Worship a Great Old One or Outer God... there are some Neutral Ones.... a few have some decent domains but most importantly it gets you access to the Dreamed Secrets feat

You really shouldnt be in combat but if you absolutely feel the need, access to the Trickery subdomain for Mirror Image or the Feather Domain for an animal companion to ride on the back of are the only ways its feasible IMO

REMEMBER you can have.... 1 primary domain, 1 secondary domain for the powers and 1 secondary domain for the spells.... which is why Option 1 can be v.feasible

IMO if you're lonoking for a v.good archetype Herald Caller is prob the best of the bunch

Caster-focused stats

Str 10
Dex 16
Con 14
Int 11
Wis 22
Cha 16

So then in terms of feats...?

If we are a caster ecclisitheurge of Sarenrea then your pretty much a blaster with heroism in support. Just say to heck with weapons and let your spells murder the masses. I've done this before with Ra and it works beautifully. If you need specifics I'll get you some upon request.

Specifics would be extremely helpful-been trying to figure out primary/secondary domains all day. Especially since I think my party wants me to have high heals, so healing domain is almost definitely my secondary

Starting stats at level 1... For a human

10,14,14,10,16(18),10 if you don't like dump stats lower int to seven if you do and get a 12 to cha and STR.

Traits:wayang spell hunter and its twin

Ecclisitheurge X/cross blooded sorc 1. (Maybe). Grab elemental and one of the damage dealing bloodlines. I like dealing lightning. It honestly acid is safer.

1) spell focus (evocation)
H) spell spec (burning hands then fireball)
3) empower spell
5) intensify spell
7) dazing spell
9) quicken spell
11) pentratin spell
13) improved initiative
15) spell perfection

The basic idea is just control with dazing fireballs, heal out of battle, use heroism all the time , and use burning hands to clean up. Despite fireball being your main spell keep
Heroism as your level 3 domain spell, especially prior to level 8.
