Shield champion (brawler) and Shield slam

Rules Questions

Shield's ability says:

Quote:
At 7th level, a shield champion can use a thrown shield to perform a bull rush, dirty trick, disarm, reposition, or trip combat maneuver as if she were making a melee shield bash attack.

Shield slam activates when you do a shield bash:

Quote:
Any opponents hit by your shield bash are also hit with a free bull rush attack, substituting your attack roll for the combat maneuver check

Does that means that since the ranged maneuver is treated like a shield bash you can bull rush on a successful maneuver roll?

If you can do that, since you replace bull rush cmb with the attack that triggered it, that you replace bull rush cmb with the trigger maneuver's cmb? Or do you revert to your normal attack roll?

Good Question. Hopefully the errata will clarify things like this, but right now the answer is just conjecture.

Personally, I'd allow it as it thematically fits and doesn't seem overpowered. But from a strict RAW interpretation, I don't think it explicitly gives you that ability.

So, the errata failed to clarify this.
With raw as it stands now, any opinions to if it works?
