RACE BUILDER; creating racial feats for a homebrew race

Advice

I've been searching the Internet and can't seem to come across any solid answers. In the advanced race guide many of the uncommon races have feats specific to that race. So I'm trying to find out if you can create feats for a created race. Would that be something to discuss with a game master and find what is apropriate or is there a point rule system out there that I'm just not finding.
I ask because I'm trying to create a half construct race similar to gargoyles and I can't find some of the gargoyles abilites in what would be an at will magic ability so instead of just giving them to the race I thought it might be fair to have them be feats. If anyone have any advice or experience with this your input will be greatly appreciated.

Your best bet is comparing the feat with other feats.

If I make a custom race that is meant to be really good at sneaking around, I'd know that making a feat that grants them Hide in Plain Sight with no prereqs would be too good because that's a high level ability...

So I just go around looking for other ways for feats to grant Hide in Plain Sight -- and there's one!

You need character level 11th, 15 CHA, Skill Focus (Stealth), and two feats on Eldritch Heritage (Shadow), to gain the third power of the Bloodline, which grants Hide in Plain Sight (that's a total of 3 feats and 15 CHA).

So I would probably ask my GM, knowing this, if he'd allow me to get a custom feat that granted me Hide in Plain Sight if I had 15 DEX, Skill Focus (Stealth), and the Deceitful feat, as well as character level 11th.

You should basically do the same. If you want a spell-like ability at will, find one feat that grants a spell-like of the same level try to make similar requirements.

The GM is supposed to create the races so she Can also make costum feats. When you GM and you allow your Half gargoyles they Can have the costum feats you have made. Luckily Paizo have not "blessed" us with a point based feat built system yet:)

I should have clarified, our GM told us to create a race for what's esentialy a rags to ritches campiegn. So most of the races backstory will be prewritten as a slave race with each of us throwing out own flair. For mine it's that this race was created as cheap labor in a society that in irony disapproves of forced labor so they are not granted human rights. they're property no people. It might cause problems or not. I'm unsure. Our GM tends to place a lot of realism when it comes to judicial punishment. I remember a session that was pretty much a court hearing for one of our other players. I ended up being his lawyer since I had the most knowledge and people skills (bard). I kinda want to take a little bit of advantage of his play style. Since they're not technically a people it can't be classified as anything but industrial accident. Meaning my owners are responsible. Not me *meniacle laugh*
As far as what class to play I'm unsure. It gonna be a dex heavy race but rougue seams like a bad choice for something that sounds like we'll be in front lines fighting a lot.
