Arcanist and Pearls of Power

Rules Questions

Can an arcanist use a pearl of power?

Pearls of power cannot be used by spontaneous casters, only prepared casters. Is an arcanist considered a spontaneous caster or a prepared caster in this regard?

The Pearl if power gives back a spell that have been erased from memory because it was used. Arcanists dont unmemorise there spells when they use them, so Arcanists wont have any benefit from a Pearl of power unless the rule text change.

Silver Crusade

My read on the PoP is that it only works for prepared casters.
My understanding the Arcanist applies any metamagic feats when cast, but increases the casting time as a Sorcerer. Based upon this, a PoP would not work since the PoP only refreshes a specific spell slot, not a generic slot used to cast any spell of that level.

Silver Crusade

Buy Rune Stones of Power they function the same for spontaneous casters as pearls of power for memorized casters.

Spontaneous in the matter of casting. He doesn't lose prepared spells when he casts, so there is nothing for the Pearl to restore. He operates like a Sorcerer in that he expends spell slots. So he would need to use a Runestone of Power instead.
