Rules Questions

Hi,

Good afternoon/whatever to all of you :P
I have a question, just to know what people thing around here if I get an official response the better xD

Sticky Bomb

Prerequisite: Alchemist 10

Benefit: The effects of the alchemist’s bombs are persistent and continue to damage creatures for 1 round after the initial damage. Creatures that take a direct hit from a sticky bomb take the splash damage 1 round later. Bombs that have effects that would normally occur 1 round later instead have those effects occur 2 rounds later.

Do all creatures take splash damage or just the one recieving the direct hit?

Is it direct damage or it can be avoided with a Reflex save?

Only the one receiving the direct hit take additional damage. It clearly says so: "Creatures that take a direct hit from a sticky bomb take the splash damage 1 round later."
Creatures in the splash area will still take normal splash damage though, it just will not be doubled due to this discovery.

It's not actually splash damage, just the damage of the splash, so I'd say it's certainly not avoidable with a reflex save. This is especially the case since it's already a direct hit and the name of the discovery is sticky bomb, which implies the burning is sticking to them and hence could not be dodged since they're already hit.

i will disagree somewhat.
if it was only effecting the diract target then the entire 1st sentance is not needed you can just start reading from : "Creatures that take a direct hit ...".
the last sentance also make more sense as some bombs effect later even on the splashed targets. and if they get no 2nd round damage why would they be effected in a 3rd round?( i mean why would the lasting effect wait to 3rd round to happen and not in the 2nd?)
i think the first snetance is actuly telling us that everyone who was damaged by the bomb in the 1st round take splash damage on the secend. the "Creatures that take a direct hit from a sticky bomb take the splash damage 1 round later" is there to tell you not to roll all them d6's on the main target as he too get only splash damage. which would be reasnable as the main target get hit by an explosion(the d6's) in the 1st round while anyone neer get the splash at them, and that splash is what sticks for the 2nd round.

as for the ref save id go as you said. the main target got hit and get no ref save in the 1st round. so he's covered with it and take splash damage the 2nd round(maybe he can scrape it? idk) the others, it doesn't say what damage they take. id say those who failed and got full spalsh damage get it again as they are covred by it all. those who saved and took half still has that dealing half damage. and those wth evesion who took non are actuly not taking any as they didn't get any on them.

imo 1st sentance is the general description.
2nd sentance is the rules of what it actually do.

it clearly said: creatures who took a direct hit.
direct hit is only on the main target

so it only affects the main target.

as for delaying the effects, it is for things like acid and etc that on the 2nd round they continue tickling for half and etc. it basically says that they don't take that damage on the 2nd, instead they take it on the 3rd+ round (when the "main" bomb damage (direct hit+sticky) is over)
