Magus Spell strike (not spell combat) with a two handed weapon

Rules Questions

I have plans for the Magusy arcanist dwarf that bashes people in the face with a giant dwarven axe of electrical zappyness.

Can he cast shocking grasp, grab the axe in two hands and then try to cleave someone's head off with the axe?

You can't Two Hand Weapon and Armor Spikes as off-hand. So you also can't THW and Spell.

Spell Combat is a no, but you know that based on the title.

Spellstrike makes no provisions for weapon type. Go for it. It's not exactly wise from a power perspective but it works.

The spell is cast, free action shift grip to wield the axe with both hands and deliver the spell via spellstrike. Perfectly legal. You could even toss a move action in the mix. This has nothing to do with your post. You quoted spell combat, but the OP already knows spell combat doesn't work, it's in the title.

He can cast the spell one round, then the next round he can attack with the two-handed weapon, using Spell Strike to channel the spell through that two handed weapon.

This is legal, just not effective -
Round 1: Cast Spell
Round 2: Attack with a two-handed weapon, using Spell Strike to channel the spell through that two handed weapon.

No need to wait.

Standard action: Cast touch spell.
Free action: Place free hand on two-handed weapon
Free action: Deliver touch spell via Spellstrike

Yup. And as stated earlier, you could also have inserted a move action anywhere in that sequence.

You can even use spellstrike twice in one round.

Step 1: Use a swift action to cast quickened shocking grasp, then use spellstrike to deliver the charge through your weapon as a free action.

Step 2: Use a standard action to cast shocking grasp, then use spellstrike to deliver the charge through your weapon as a free action.

Step 3: Use a move action.

And, of course, you can perform the three steps in any order.
