ranger companion atks for me or do i get double?

Advice

Starting a ranger and got my horse companion which is sweet! Got it combat trained and now his hooves are primary weapons which is awesome! But i havent really used his atk until now. Do i get to have him bite/hoof/hoof AND shoot? Or do i pick? And if i have to pick why would i ever choose, why pick anything else but shooting?

Thanks!

Also any other tips u guys have for mounted ranged combat would be awesome too! So far gave my mount the overrun tree and for me, took rapid and manyshot, presice and improved presice, deadly aim, point blank shot, and weapon focus longbow.

Also i read a guide somewhere thay suggested using large arrows? Cant find anything in that o.o what are they and how get? Do I need to be large in order to use? Or just can use them since im on a mount?

My understanding is that your mount gets a full turn on its own during your turn. As such, it gets to do all of its actions. Move and standard, or full round. You, as the rider, get a full round as normal, unless your mount moves and you need to melee attack, in which case you have to use your move to essentially wait for your mount to get you into melee.

Both you and your companion get your full actions, so yes both can attack. However you will need to remember that you don't have your turn at the same time: either you go first then your mount, or vice versa. ie you cannot have the companion move, then you attack, it then attack and finally you move (barring possibly using readied actions and the restrictions they bring).
