I have a Hunter / Inquisitor: Sacred Huntmaster and I am wondering what to do with the Animal Focus ability. They both have it. Although the rules don't specifically say the levels stack--And I am more than happy to have two occurrences of the power that can be used at the same time--but I was wondering if there was something more official.
I would think it was simply an oversight, and like so many other powers that are the exact same, the level stack. But I was wondering if there was something more official out there.
Thanks.

They would not stack because they specifically don't say they do, per the FAQ. I would imagine that same would be true for the Inquisitor: Sacred Huntmaster's Animal Companion and Sylvan Sorcerer's Animal Companion. Neither says they stack, so multi-classing them means two animal companions? The animal companions would stack as long as the companion is on both lists. This is an exception to the above class feature stacking rule.

Channel Energy: If I have this ability from more than one class, do they stack?
No—unless an ability specifically says it stacks with similar abilities (such as an assassin's sneak attack), or adds in some way based on the character's total class levels (such as improved uncanny dodge), the abilities don't stack and you have to use them separately. Therefore, cleric channeling doesn't stack with paladin channeling, necromancer channeling, oracle of life channeling, and so on.
I would say Animal Focus qualifies for the adds based on class level.

Based on that interpretation then Channel Energy should also stack, but clearly it does not. The fact that they called out Improved Uncanny Dodge as an example shows us what they meant by that oddly worded part of the FAQ.
Improved uncanny dodge is unusual in that levels in classes that grant uncanny dodge (not just the improved version) will stack with the improved version which is technically a different ability all together despite the name similarity. That is what they meant by "adds in some way based on the character's total class levels".
