AP extra feats and goodies, legal in all PFS play?

Silver Crusade 4/5

Paizo has a number of free PDF downloads for the guides of the various available Adventure Paths. I recently played (GM'd?) a game where someone used a feat from one of those free PDF downloads, but we were not playing as part of that AP. Is it legal to use anything available in those free PDF's as part of regular PFS play even though the character may never play in any part of the AP from which the feat/trait/item/etc came?

Silver Crusade 2/5

If it is available in Additional Resources, then yes. If not, then no.

Got specifics?

If it's called out on the Additional Resources page as legal...it's legal (as long as the player has the source).

If it's not called out on the Additional Resources page as legal...it's not legal.

The character does not have to play through any specific scenario/AP/module to use a legal resource. The only caveat to that is that some illegal resources are made legal by specific chronicles, and those are listed as legal on the chronicles.

The Top of the Additional Resources page (as an example) wrote:

Curse of the Crimson Throne Player's Guide

Equipment: all equipment on pages 12-13 (except hide shirt); Feats: Acadamae Graduate, Crossbow Mastery

So, yes, some Player's Guide content is legal.

Actually, this was the exact example I saw during recent play. Thanks for bringing this up. I forgot to check the additional resources.

Acadamae Graduate is a delicious feat.

I still love how Butterfly's Sting is a combat feat in the Inner Sea Gods book..... One, more, level.....

But remember that, now, you also have to worship Desna, and that also means you can only be CN, CG, or NG for alignment, to take that feat.

So many new face on the butterfly walk when that feat came out...

Sovereign Court

It blows my mind why they didn't allow "Shingle Runner" as an option in Curse of the Crimson Throne for PFS. I'd like to make a jumping acrobatic character and that feat has so much flavor. *sigh*

Agreed, which makes it kinda fun as how it can be played!
