What is a ship feat?

The scenario Dangerous Waters has the reward "Gain a Class 0 ship feat". What exactly does that mean? I can't find it defined in the rulebook.

Look on the Fleet card. Getting a ship feat means you get a new choice for your starting ship. I was confused at first because I thought why would you want another class 0 ship after you seized a higher class ship? But seizing a ship only lets you use it for the rest of the scenario. So your stuck starting with your "legit" ship until you get a ship feat.

Yes, that is basically what I thought, too. It's just strange that the reward uses a rules terms that hasn't actually been defined.

They don't specifically call it a ship feat like they do Card, Skill, or Power feats but they do mention getting a reward to check off new ships on your fleet card in a couple of places.

Page 19 comes closest, though it doesn't use the actual work "feat" in describing it.

That is an awesome typo. It should read "with a ship feat."

Is it gonna be added in V2 of the rules? If it is, I wonder if anyone will notice the addition of a new word when it comes out.

Hopefully, there'll be fewer needed rules revisions than there were in RotR, since many of the issues are already fixed in V3 of the RotR rules and S&S was built with those as the base. Good luck to you, Tanis et. al. Keep up the good work!

I think at some point in editing, we wanted to make sure that we could also give you a ship; that is, "here, I'm giving you this ship card called the USS Awesomesauce." But we never did that; instead, we always give you a ship feat. So I agree that's what it should say.
