Hey all,
It's rare for players to snag a GM, but we're going to give it a go: we have a sorcerer, a swashbuckler, and a druid who have bonded well in their brief time in Serpent's Skull. We aren't ready to throw in the towel, but our GM has poofed and our barbarian has had to put school over gaming for the time being. Our campaign gameplay thread is here:

If anyone wants to lead us onward, let us know. Thanks!

I won't be taking this one over, but for the convenience of others looking: here's the link.

Maybe we could offer our styles, Helio, and let the PCs decide who they would prefer? That way, they can be assured they get the GM they are looking for! If it's me, that's great, if not, that's great too, because I love when a PC-GM match is perfect! ^_^
If the PCs are interested in this, just post a prompt and I will respond to it in my style! :)

We have not really used Skype yet, though I am not opposed to using it. Roll20 was used almost entirely for mapping the island and combat, though we did all of our rolling on these forums.
Support the vote for a rap battle to the death, though an alternative would be to duel using the rules on the sidebar of http://www.reddit.com/r/DuelingCorner

Ok, here we go with the rap battle... embarrassment lane, here we go!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
WURST RAP EVERZ!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
My name is Red Velvet Tiger, won't find a GM that rolls no higher!
I come from the East Coast, better watch those nat 1s PC or I'll turn you into a ghost!
I've been playing this game since middle school, I'll get my Goblin Dogshanker and shank a fool!
I'm a GM cold as ice, mistress of murder with 'dem dice!
Now I don't know what you heard, dude, but you get munchkin with me, I'll GM fiat crit and turn you into monster food!
You hear these ill rhymes I'm dropping? I thought so, because from across the net I can see your eyes popping!
This girl don't need to learn no music, that's too hard, I'll just Sound Burst you with my level 20 Bard!
But what's this you say? It's a rap battle? I'll throw you overboard in the Shackles and make you dog-paddle!
Roleplay isn't just for sex, son, it's for gunslinger and the poor schmuck staring down the barrel of his gun!
Now that I've laid down the law, are you going to roll that tongue back up in your jaw?
That's all I've got today, PCs, feel free to throw me some GPs!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
How's that for a horrible rap battle? XD

Oh boy. Internet embarrassment is the best kind - it never, ever goes away.
-----------------------------------------
The name's Helio, the game maestro, commando, virtuoso,
Boss at so many games, ain't even got the move to reload my crossbow.
You want rap? Forget that- Think this a game, son? Damn shame!
Welcome to the jungle - no fun or games on the isle!
Keeping it realer than the realest of reals, scramble after spottin' them cannibals.
Safe? Nice? You'll be eating roast cockatrice.
Here, I'll share some advice. Minmaxin' exacts twice the price.
Playing the roles, rolling the plays; best keep that up the whole day!
RVT, your rhymes are clunky - the only GM fit for this game is me!
-----------------------------------------
Sorry RVT...
What have I done...

That was fun! What about this particular campaign is attractive to you as GMs? When you GM do you trend toward any particular genre when you add your own touch to something pre made? Or do you prefer to play things out as written as much as possible?
For example, I tend to sneak in a bit of elder gods and madness into most games, but only when appropriate. Most players are not 'afraid' of giants or dragons, but plenty get a shiver from a gibbering mouther or voices from the beyond the void.

I typically add or remove things from the adventure depending on the group. If there's a particular interest they have or develop, or something that ends up particularly compelling, I'll expand upon that, or minimize things that seemed less enjoyable. I don't *think* there's any one theme in particular I use more than others...
As for Serpent's Skull, I've always thought it was a great concept. That whole Indiana Jones ancient ruin adventure through jungles and caverns and whatever just seems really cool. And different enough from the typical adventure that I haven't run anything quite like it yet.

First of all, I'm super honored that both potential GM's are willing to come in here, present ideas and their epic wordsmithing to boot. That's purty unusual, as it's a seller's market for GM's, who often have hordes of potential players in a frenzy to join their AP. So, for starters, many many thanks just for considering us.
Here are a few questions I have, and we're happy to answer any questions proto-GM's may have. No right or wrong answers, mind you! 'tis all about compatibility.
-What posting frequency do you prefer?
-We're currently a trio: sorcerer, druid, and swashbuckler. How would you determine any additional members (or would you leave it at three! daring!)
-Would you want to reboot entirely, start where we are, or rewind to a particular scene?
-Any rule modifications or stuff that's off the table?
-Anything else about your style and what you look for in players would be great to know!
As for me, I've been in a bunch of PbP games, used to play 1E back in the day along with CoC and other Chaosium stuff, and I'm far from a rules lawyer, although I read the rules when I can. Roleplaying is great fun, as long as no one is too precious or long-winded. I try to post once a day, although weekends and life do intervene.
And as for the group of Koro, Belor, and Malick...we've only just begunnnn...but it feels like a solid little team. Our departed barbarian was even more gung-ho, but school spirited him away. Anyhow, we feel pretty solid (and I'm cool with new players as per GM's discretion). We wouldn't have tried to resurrect the game if it weren't. :)

Honestly, it's the hordes of potential players that scare me away from starting a whole new game. I hate having to sort through piles of potential characters and then turn away really cool concepts. It always makes me feel dirty turning away players ;.;
I like 1/day and 1/weekend kind of games, though obviously life stuff happens. A smaller group isn't necessarily a problem, so long as the players are consistent and dedicated. For a while I was actually running a 1 man PbP after everyone else dropped out, and while the player opted out eventually, we finished pretty much an entire module at that rate (with a few extra resources and an NPC thrown his way, of course).
So I'd leave it up to you guys if you wanted to add more people. If you're comfortable with the crew you've got, then I wouldn't rock the boat with more players. I'd rather have that nice, cohesive group anyway! That would also mean it wouldn't have to be rebooted, and save you from retreading all that stuff. I'd just roll with whatever's happened so far and build it from there.
Also, I just looked at the game and realized that Belor is also Captain Andoran. Greetings from Pipernortin :)

Sorry about the lack of posts, I was busy with the Khans of Tarkir prerelease stuff the last few days!
To answer your questions.
1. I typically expand on pre-written material, but keep it all within the flavor of the preexisting material. For example, gibbering mouthers in Carrion Crown, but none in Reign of Winter.
2. I prefer 1+ posts a day. I try to post more than once, but some days are busy, especially on MtG days! I am also ok with people missing posts due to real life, because it happens. I would be a hypocrite to not say it, since sometimes life has kept me from posting!
3. I agree with Helio, it's up to you all whether or not you want more party members! As I plan on tweaking all encounters anyway, it will not be stretch to make them survivable for just you three! And I am, of course, amenable to giving you all boosts to increase survivability, if you would prefer that!
4. We can reboot entirely, rewind to a scene, or continue on, as you all see fit.
5. As for rules modifications, that depends on you all. I generally run games with higher power levels on both sides, because it makes the game much quicker and more intense, but if you want to stay with your current rules and stats, that's fine. I'm also gestalt and 3PP friendly.
6. As for my playstyle, I can post something for you. Give me a prompt! :)
7. What I look for in players is good roleplay, friendliness, and non-D-bag stuff (No rules lawyering, no interparty warfare, no trolling, ect!)... good spelling is a plus! I'm fine if you misspell some words, just don't have a 'wut arrr yu doin' type of speech, unless your character has a heavy accent or a mental disability!
So, what do you think?

My bad guys! I switched to TSP's phone plan and cut my internet, then went WAY over on his data! Went 6 GB over, so I owe him $90 on the phone bill/internet bill lolz! I wanted to try that Forsaken World MMORPG, because a good bit of people seem so obsessed with it, but it was like 22 GB in download and patches... so whoopsie! I can show you all my messages, if you want to see the message about how bad I went over the data usage! Thankfully, he's a sweetheart and didn't get uber-mad about it, so I've been trying not to use too much. He said I could let you all know the circumstances, since I was sort of squirming wanting to let everyone know what was up. The data resets at the end of the month, so only a few days delay!
