I missed the soap opera stuff
It had been a while, but I figured it was time to tee it up.

And, hey! How about that American Pharoah? First the Derby, now the Preakness. Can he take the Belmont and be the first Triple Crown winner since 1978?
My own knowledge and experience of horseracing says "hell no". But I'll probably watch anyway.
Although I didn't watch the Preakness. Was busy pulling the whole single parent job off.

Yesterday, for dinner, I cooked a beef roast in the rotisserie. First, I tried something new to us: a pre-mixed marinade in a re-sealable bag. This one was Roasted Garlic Balsamic. Very nice. However, the instructions tell you the minimum time to marinade is half-an hour. I disagree, but I was rushed for time so only did it that long. Next time, I'll know better and marinade overnight.

I think perhaps the multitude of changes I've seen over the last 2 years is finally starting to catch up to me. I left government service, moved to Texas for a new (better) job, gained a new gaming group, abandoned a new gaming group, became a father again, bought a new house, adjusted to the wife going back to work, abandoned one of my favorite threads to noobs, lost my father, and now I'm beginning to wind down on the project I've been with this entire time.

Changes. It's not just a Bowie greatest hits album
Reflecting on yesterday's anniversary of my spawning I have to say the last two years have seen an awful lot of change. Death, divorce, new jobs, old jobs, new gaming group, new game system, and now the prospect of moving. My birth mother just offered to let me live in her house for a year and go to school there if I wished.
Choices, choices. Changes. Some good, some not.

Morning, all. What did I miss?
Well, despite video footage to the contrary, Scott continued to insist he was not the one who programmed a giant penis into the production facility model. Meanwhile, Patrick's attempts to create a device that would forever put an end to winter were continuously foiled by Gary. And, across town, Max decided to take a visiting Holger on a tour of......No, wait! That's my soap opera!!!

So, the wife's sinus problems got really bad right before her trip to Brazil. The day she was set to leave, she went to the urgent care and got some treatment, including a prescription for an antibiotic. That was well over a week ago, and she's just now telling me that she might start taking the antibiotic.
After our boy caught a cold and had to stay home yesterday.
After I started sniffling this morning in what I hope is not the same thing.
Why, you may ask?
Her stated reason was because a side effect might be upset stomach. Her real reason was because she wanted to be able to drink margaritas and wine on her trip.

Happy-ish Friday. It's the start of a 3 day weekend, since the office is closed on Monday. So far, however, other than the usual crap, we don't have anything planned.
I believe my wife's friend is throwing a (birthday?) party on Saturday, and we're supposed to go to that. Not something I'm particularly looking forward to, since they live somewhere closer to Galvaston. That means a long drive there, probably in traffic.
And, since the party isn't until four o'clock, that means we probably won't get home and get the kids to bed until late. Typically, my wife frowns upon us staying somewhere late and keeping the kids up too long past their bedtime.
Except, of course, when it's her friends.

Day One of the yardsale
I find myself curiously intolerant of stupid people and their insistence on treating me like I am a customer service rep at a box store. Perhaps I have been in retail too long.
No, there is no warranty. Yes it is five dollars. Yes, it works, no, you cannot return it within 30 days.
Can you not see that I care not for your concerns? Buy it, or not. It means little to me.
