Also, friend Monkey, you should totally come visit Houston. If you visited while it was still "winter" we could grill outside without it being too hot.

Scarab Sages

Not that I recognize such a thing as "too hot", except of the flesh searing variety.

Scarab Sages

What a stupid a@~!~$~.

Scarab Sages

Every so often, I find myself having to go back and re-hide a ton of troll threads. I wonder if it's flaw in the system. Or if there's deliberate time limit built into the time Buick.

They have become, for me, an sort of replacement for comics. Not that I stopped collecting comics, but I have vastly reduced the amount I collect.

Plus, the minis (along with continuing to collect the APs) help me feel like I'm still gaming.

You should PbP with me! I'd find you a spot. It's fun

Who knows? I'll likely have a winter break from school :)

Huzzah!

Scarab Sages

Aaaannnndd....yet another conversation that really doesn't need to happen on these boards. It never ceases to amaze me, how many people seem determined to make these messageboards unfun.

Scarab Sages

Happy Birthday to A.E. van Vogt!

Scarab Sages

Oh Hide Function! Why do you vex me so? I swear I just re-hid some of those threads the other day.

Focus is your friend. You can't click what you don't see

Scarab Sages

True, but sometimes I can't help wonder why some people just feel the need to ruin these messageboards with their trolling crap.

I mean, I know some do it because they're idiotic young punks who think they're smarter and cooler than anyone else, when really they're just little s@#%heads hiding behind a keyboard.

Others, well, they just seem to be a$#~&$!s. And not the cool kind, like me.

Scarab Sages

And people wonder why I don't go back.

Scarab Sages

WTF? I swear to Christ I hid that f$&~ing thread just a few minutes ago.

Scarab Sages

People say I'm no good, and crazy as a loon
'Cause I get stoned in the mornin', I get drunk in the afternoon
Kinda like my old blue tick hound, I like to lay around in the shade
And I ain't got no money, but I damn sure got it made

'Cause I ain't askin' nobody for nothin'
If I can't get it on my own
If you don't like the way I'm livin'
You just leave this long haired country boy alone

Preacher man talking on TV, puttin' down the rock and roll
Wants me to send a donation, 'cause he's worried about my soul
He said, "Jesus walked on the water.", and I know that it's true
But sometimes I think that preacher man, would like to do a little walkin' too

But I ain't askin' nobody for nothin'
If I can't get it on my own
If you don't like the way I'm livin'
You just leave this long haired country boy alone

A poor girl wants to marry, a rich girl wants to flirt
A rich man goes to college, a poor man goes to work
A drunkard wants another drink of wine, and a politician wants your vote
I don't want much of nothing at all, but I will take another toke

'Cause I ain't asking nobody for nothin'
If I can't get it on my own
If you don't like the way I'm livin'
You just leave this long haired country boy alone

Scarab Sages

Good song. Makes the drive in a little bit easier. Especially when there are two separate choke points on the way to work.

Scarab Sages

Short-ish work day today. The wife and I have an appointment to take care of some house-related paperwork this afternoon.

Scarab Sages

Not sure if I'll go back to work when it's done with. Depends on what time we get finished.

Scarab Sages

Almost forgot:

Happy Birthday Frank Belknap Long! Watch out for those angles!

Frank. My boon companion ....

Scarab Sages

Yesterday was productive. And I finished it off drinking beer and watching some awesome TV shows.

Scarab Sages

And, holy s%*+! I called my eldest brother for his birthday (he turned 50) and he actually answered the phone! WTF is this world coming to?!?

Scarab Sages

This reminds me, however, I have to speak with my younger brother. There are several birthdays and an anniversary (mine) in close proximity to Mother's Day. Last year, we did a big, one-day celebration for all of it, complete with a crawfish boil and taking my nephew to see the second Captain America movie. We were able to pull it off by having #2 brother start the crawfish while younger brother and I took his two eldest kids (and the nephew's friends) to see the movie.

This year, however, our #2 brother is no longer living here in Houston. So we might have to rearrange events somehow. That is, IF my younger brother and his wife haven't already made other plans.

*sigh*

Long day in a long week.

Might you be interested in being a PC in another game in the not too distant future?

They will, Patrick. They always do. In the meantime, we are all here and you can vent anytime you need to.

I'm actually considering making another game. Maybe another Planescape one. Or maybe an AP like Skull and shackles.

Silver Crusade

My Victorian-themed homebrew PbP is down a couple players. I'd rather bring in somebody I know than someone I don't.

Thanks man. I just a bit depressed. I am coming to the realization that I will likely be unable to keep any of my dogs while in school. I really don't want them to all go with my wife. I'll never see them again. As you might have noticed from my FB postings I am insanely devoted to my pups. So I'm feeling rather low about this. I can hope, but I think they will also be lost to me.

It'a An Ancient Evil. Feel free to peruse.

We lost our rogue, and then our gunslinger. We still have an inquisitor, an alchemist, a cavalier, and a druid.

That is no good :( I hope you are able to figure something out with that.

Egad! This sucks big, hairy goat balls! If I had dogs, I would hate to lose them.

Turnabout is fair play, I suppose. Here I am sitting at my desk, and your post made me hungry.

One of the many reasons my life sucks big hairy goat balls right now

Scarab Sages

Incidentally, I rarely eat a real breakfast. Sad, but true. For example: since I woke up at 5 this morning, I have had naught but two cups of coffee. Later on, I might have a candy bar and another cup of coffee, but that'll probably be it.

Scarab Sages

There was a time when I never missed breakfast - most important meal of the day, and all that.

I need to reup my meat supply. The pulled pork is almost gone. I might do a brisket

I've been meaning to do a brisket one of these days. I just want to find a small-ish one.

Scarab Sages

Did I mention that the wife and I refinanced our house. Moving from Wells Fargo to Navy Federal. It'll make the payments easier to manage, plus 2.75%. Not too shabby.

Monty Python always helps

I've been doing meat up in advance then parsing out into salads I eat when I get home from work. I can't eat a full plate of meat at this point, but a salad with a bit of meat, pasta, cottage cheese, and croutons is easy on the stomach, and easy to make. Keeps me primed for food. The rest of the day it's protein shakes. I can't eat lately. Stress I think.

Because I haven't done one in forever.....

Aberzombie's Really Grimm Fairy Tales

The Winter Princess

Once upon a time, there was a young princess who found she had been gifted with wintery powers. She considered these powers a curse and, with the help of her parents, concealed their existence from everyone, including her own younger sister.

Then, tragically, her parents died in an horrific carraige accident, leaving her to face the world alone. She tried to keep her powers hidden, but ascending to the throne made this increasingly difficult. Her young sister tried to get her to open up, to reinvigorate the bond they shared as children, but the now queen kept herself guarded.

Things finally came to a head at the coronation celebration, when the queent argued with her younger sister and accidently revealed her icy gifts.

Then came the real shock. The younger sister revealed her own, summer-based powers of heat and flame. She also revealed that she that it was she who caused their paren't accident, and that she was finally ready to make her move and seize the kingdom for herself.

The two sisters fought, unleashing the full might of their powers. Flames roared. Ice cracked. Everyone died.

The End.

Still a better love story than Twilight

Not a bad choice. Between the alchemist, druid, and inquisitor, they have decent spellcasting. A martial character is good, or something crafty. They are a bit lacking in skills, stealth, and street-smarts. Also remember that guns are fairly common, which may be a consideration. I'll PM you tonight.
