What happened?
A drow army saved half-orcs from slavery and trounced an empire's army.
Cats gained mythic levels. They are now the most feared predators in the alleyways.
On the day of the last eclipse a group of druids awakened a bear. That bear went on to become the monarch of the forest kingdom.

How did the first of these cats attain mythic status?
Clearly, they drew it from an ancient Osirian statuette dedicated to a long-forgotten cat goddess from an era of obscurity prior to Earthfall, when cats ruled all of northern Garund with an iron claw. Once dormant, the pawing of her now-animal subjects woke her once again and she infused them with mythic power.
Now they terrorize anything textile, canine, or cream-based. There's a small community of wererats that's been forming an alliance to combat them, but they're rapidly being hunted down themselves.
I for one welcome our new feline overlords.
