I just found this thread. That stinks. I've been building shadowrun characters just to try to subdue the cravings. Didn't know anyone on here was running any.
Addiction (moderate): 10 BP - Shadowrun
All of my experience is with 4. I didn't even know about 5 and don't have any of the material.
Characters I've built:Crix - combat adept; knife thrower extraordinaire.
Lyst - generalist adept; breacher, hacker, social adept, jack of all trades.
Wexley - mystic adept; blind knife-fighter and healer.
Grith - mystic adept; unarmed fighter, touch spell mage.
If you get any openings, let me know.
PS - I'd read somewhere that the adept power pricing in 4 was about double what it should have been, so cutting most powers over .5 in half can do the trick. Some exceptions would make sense.

Well... I was gonna give them till tomorrow night to respond or for the PMs to hopefully go through but oh well.
We have 3 Openings available for Shadowrun 5E.
Prefered Characters Types are:
A Technomancer/Decker.
Weapons Specialist.
Rigger.
Or some combination there of.
We are using the Prime Runner Level. Build a background of your own up until you joined the current team then you all can create a joined background of your first job.

I don't have copies of the rules past 3rd Ed.
That said, I remember the general sketch of a background I had for a Gaelic-speaking former gang-banger who joined a military (corporate or national I've forgotten) and gets burned during an international black op.
He managed to survive, but now he has to not be identified, in order to avoid the attention of the both his prior employer and the erstwhile target. One wants him to dead to avoid the possibility of a leak and the other wants him as proof.
Ultra-modern grunt.

Here's the start of me retelling the background for the Ancient Celtic Street Samurai . . .. I've got a chunk more to add, and then what's been written needs filling out.
Been doing other things tonight.
Every child craves recognition from their parents. Bridget received her recognition from academic achievement. Shane received his when he misbehaved. Each naturally increased their focus on the activities that got them the attention they craved.
By the time they were eight years old, Bridget had started teaching herself Gaelic. She taught Shane to speak Gaelic so that she had someone to practice with. When she started digging into ancient Celtic history and mythology, she shared her knowledge and enthusiasm with Shane. Now, to be fair, I should note that Shane didn't put up with anyone else in the family trying to teach him and lead him down an academic path. Bridget was sharing, not leading or teaching, and that made a huge difference.
When they were almost teenagers, Bridget was already doing high school academics and Shane was accepted into the local gang. Shane stopped going to school, but he kept sharing with Bridget. During this time frame, they took a liking to the ancient Gaelic version of their name: Ó Braonáin. Shane had started asking people to call him Kean, which means ancient, in recognition of the history Bridget managed to teach him. He started calling her Dearbháil, which means daughter of Fal, a legeandary name for Ireland.
Colin was very careful to be home for the twins' 18th birthday. Why? So he could throw Shane out permanently. He didn't JUST throw the boy out on the street, though. Colin took his youngest son to the recruiter.
So, he speaks Gaelic, knows ancient military history and Celtic mythology BEFORE we start learning anything about being a combatant. I'll have to try to finish the background over the next couple of days.

Omae, a WIP 5ed Character Generator
Been playing around with this for a little - seems like a good place to start since it auto-calculates tons of stuff for you.
Still a WIP, so theres lots of features still missing, though.

My apologies, once again when I want to work on this cursed technomancer, real life takes away so much of my free time.
If you'll still have me, I'll do my best to get done for this weekend.
Escape was only the beginning. As usual, the lab was hidden under a rather usavory section of Seattle and the girl had to use all of her wits just to survive the night. But survive she did, using her talents to hack her way into store after store, taking what she wanted.
Passing a bank terminal, she realized she should have money. Hacking in she's transferred her starting funds into a cred stick when she was hit by the ICE; she only just escaped with her life.
