Hello all. I'm an experienced Pathfinder player/GM with a new character concept I want to try out. Currently GMing my own game on Sundays, and have another game I'm playing a barbarian for a couple nights per month, so I'm looking to find a PbP game for this guy to take part in. The character is very heavily influenced by Vito Corleone from The Godfather films.
Lawful Evil human rogue, worshiper of Norgorber. Not looking to play the "outright stab my fellow PCs in the back and take their stuff" kind of evil rogue, but is willing to team up with fellow adventurers to further his own goals. I'm very intrigued by the downtime system presented in Ultimate Campaign, and would like a chance to use it to start businesses and organizations. He isn't a diehard adventurer, but sees the benefits the lifestyle holds for obtaining power in his home community. Very loyal to friends and family. Looking to start out as a lowly thug or street urchin and progress through the game with the goal of becoming the head of a criminal organization he's built from the ground up.
Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to be clear about what I'm looking for in a game. If you are a GM starting up a PbP game for Pathfinder and feel this guy would make a good or interesting fit for your game, please feel free to contact me.

That would be convenient as Kaer Maga is in the region, City of Strangers is the book for Kaer Maga. It is an extremely diverse and old city. Heres a quote from the introduction:
to Kaer Maga. Ten thousand years she’s slept here, and still we’ve yet to wake her. Some would say as we’re her dreams, on account of our strangeness, but I don’t buy that. I say we’re her children, though a fat lot of good that does us. See, the city, she’s like a giant insect who’ll devour her young without a second thought. In here, there’s none who will so much as bother to forget you when you’re gone. You’re nothing. I’m nothing. And these warrens will be our tomb.
“Why the long face, chum? This is home. And besides, you’ve got me. And
for a fiver a day, I’m your new best friend.”

I am definitely interested as well! I'm thinking a Chaotic Neutral bard, whose performance skill is Oratory. He would not be perceived as a typical bard in that he doesn't play an instrument or sing. In essense, he's a conman extraordinaire, a man with a forked tongue so wicked that he can use it to soothe and savage, to influence and deceive. Though he is not incapable in combat, he succeeds more because he banters throughout it, bringing down his enemy's morale while boosting the confidence of his allies. Rather like a less insane version of Marvel's Deadpool. ;)
Thoughts?

Aeryn Thane is a former acolyte of Calistria, the goddess of trickery, lust, and revenge. Born in Absalom to a priestess of Calistria, Aeryn never knew his father, at his mother's insistance. He and his two siblings, each born of different fathers, were raised within the church, and as such, learned much about the ways of pleasure and diplomacy. Of the three, Aeryn was the most skilled with words, and when he came of age, he was visited by one of the temple's most holy of avatars - a succubus - who took him, seduced him, and whispered to him that he was destined for great and terrible things. This inspired him to become even more skilled with his talents, and a particular patron, an Absalomian nobleman, decided to favor the boy with lessons from his own political staff at his manor - though it is far more likely he did so to earn Aeryn's mother's favor. At the nobleman's manor, Aeryn learned the ways of double-speaking, of soothing with lies and manipulating with sweet words. Combined with his experiences in the temple, he was soon a master of the silver tongue.
One day, while at lessons, Aeryn caught a glimpse of the nobleman's daughter, and felt instant, maddening desire for her. He began to find ways to slip away from lessons, to catch up with her, to tease her with words and visions. She fell for him quickly, and before too long, the two were slipping away to find pleasure in each other's arms. The desire grew in to something strange, foreign, unthinkable to Aeryn. He began to feel...love? It was strange, thrilling, intoxicating. And dangerous. Oh so dangerous.
For it was not long before the nobleman found out about the illicit affair, and his rage was unquenchable. His daughter had been promised to a very rich, very powerful noble house, but when she revealed her love for this commoner, this man-whore, he was beyond livid. He banished her, sending her off to Kaer Maga, and then set a trap for her young lover. When he came to his next lesson, Aeryn was ambushed, beaten near to death, and then thrown into a prison to rot. It was there, perhaps, that he met and bonded with other members of the party? Regardless, he eventually found release, through the deft use of words and the political intrigues he'd learned in the nobleman's house. He knew, however, that he would never be safe in Absalom, and hearing rumors that his lover was banished to Kaer Maga, he decided to go there and find her...
Lots of character hooks with this one. First, obviously, he does not find the noblewoman in Kaer Maga, at least not initially. So that will always be a goal. Second, he still has a thirst for vengeance against the nobleman that forced him into exile. Third, he is still a follower of Calistria, but he is burdened with one of the cardinal sins of that faith - love. Will he do right by his goddess, despite his feelings? Or will he bring on her ire because of them? As a talented con-man, he will work well with any party of rogues and ne'er-do-wells.
Thoughts?

@Harakani I see no problem with that although some characters will likely be building their own factions as well so be aware.
I'm still considering players, so far the only one I'm 100% approving is GrayJester23 since it's his thread that started this. Although I haven't heard from him in a while.
@Woegman I like the character, this is one of the reason I love the generators because they can provide solid anchor points to develop a full backstory. I really like the idea of trying to find the noblewoman especially since you don't have any details on the exile aside from it being to Kaer Maga. It would make sense for you to join with other and spread out a network to find her.

For the first few decades, Herrnarrel was a typical elf, if a bit edgy - first to volunteer for anything new, and often the last to follow through. He was taught to be in harmony with nature, and that the other, short-lived races of the world were, by their nature, rash and impulsive. As he grew, his elders often admonished him for his rash actions and human-like attitude. They steered him away from all but the most basic of the arcane arts, despite his father's noteworthy ability with the Arcane, fearing what might happen were he allowed to study them in full. He has long since learned to reign in the impulsive side of him and even learned to properly meditate in order to calm his mind. It was during one of his meditation sessions that he decided that his life was unquestionably boring. Fortunately for him, Fate had him in the back of her mind...
A group of humans, one of them a sorcerer, took refuge in his family's lands. Herrnarrel was specifically forbidden from meeting with the visitors. It, of course, didn't take him long to find exactly where they made camp and decide to "make friends." After their introductions, Herrnarrel seemed extremely interested in the sorcerer's capabilities, having been kept away from the details of such magic for most of his life. The sorcerer was only too happy to oblige...
Herrnarrel's elders confronted him as soon as he returned to the homestead and, in the throes of emotion, Herrnarrel inadvertently set the dwelling aflame. Inadvertently? Even he's not sure anymore. It seems that some of the wizard's instruction had taken hold in the young elf's mind. Not thinking properly, Herrnarrel followed his impulse and ran. He left his family and his home. - He rationalized it, of course. How else could he properly learn to control this newfound power? The elders would never allow him to be trained. Not for something so FUN! - With nowhere specific to run, and no chase immediately given, he picked a direction and kept on running.
It was nearly a week before he crossed paths with a caravan. Several people pointed him towards Kaer Maga, describing it as a place where all are welcome and only a fortnight away. Herrnarrel arrived there, having only one close call with a roving group of bandits that he had some fun with. After a few days inside of Kaer Maga, making enough coin to get by performing parlor tricks and providing distractions for a certain type of people. On a couple of occasions, he would have sworn that someone he knows is following him. He's not looking to go back, he's not looking for forgiveness. All he wants in life is some fun, and it doesn't matter at whose expense it comes. As part of his education, he learned of many of the gods and god-like beings that exist, and he has decided that followers of Ymeri would be best suited to instruct him in his new-found skills.

I'm thinking that I meet up with the party (or some of the party) a couple of weeks after being in the city. It would have given me time to find and meet a mage of some sort and get some basic lessons on how to be a wizard and use my abilities, and at this point something I've done has gone differently than expected. Basically I'm running away, notice those members of the group who are together, think that they look like the best candidates and run towards them going "HIDE ME!"

Way of the wicked The DM will be recruiting 2 replacements soon, but he asked if we had people that may want to play. Check it out, you can get out in front of the recruitmant.
Sorry not super in depth, at work and wanted to get something posted.

Hmmm. I don't normally reuse characters, but I had a character called Hob Smith in a game that died a way back that I would love to play again.
Basically, Hob was a wizard who started piecing together the arcane arts from craftsman's tricks and superstitions.
I think it would be interesting if he tried to join the Golemcrafters and got laughed out of the guild.
Hob's got a chip on his shoulder.
Goalwise I like the idea that Hob sees how terrible the world is, and only the gods have the power to make a difference.
So he's going to become a god.
Worth pursuing?

Not if he hid his deadness well. Which could be a lot of fun. Plus no one ever said the Starstone only accepts living applicants, I think it's more likely that just very few have ever tried. Also from what I understand there are many Golarion gods filling the lord of the undead niche, but it's your character far be it from me to change it.
| Krixus, The Ghost in the Dark |
If your going undead Kaer Maga is the place. The runelord used vampires once upon a time to police the city. There are also mindless undead just roaming around. Stupid twice born, but Krixus enjoys them, whats better than pigs for eating a body you don't want? Zombies :)
I too am also an IT Tech, work for the state on help desk support. Though this seems a common career amongst gamers.

It is an intriguing idea. I don't think it necessarily fits Hob though. Hob is all about passion, and revenge, and drive. He's a force of creation more than a force of death.
(I'm working on the assumption we can't trade levels for mythic tiers or something, and so that demi-divinity is therefore out of reach)
An interesting thing about Undeath is the immunity to mind affecting effects. I've long considered the idea of a Lawful Evil undead wizard who has lost and mostly forgotten his humanity and become a creature of pure rationality.
Thinking about what you said I had a look at the ARG. Just going Undead is 16 points. There is a constant nondetection ability in stoneseer. I'm not sure how much nondetection would be needed though - and it seems a bit cheesy to take it like that.
There's an image I saw as a kid in a book called "The tourist's guide to transylvania" that has stuck with me that I think would fit.
Could do up both characters if you like
