AAAUUUUGGGHH!! That's awful man. How did you not know your license was expired, though?

I have not actually looked at it in about 6 months. I might take it out to show someone else, but for the most part I know what it says. Just missed it. Too many things going on.

And I already owe you more than forty dollars for all the times you bought me lunch. Still, thanks.

Howdy, FAWTLies!

I thought I'd take a minute to say hello while my family is still sleeping off yesterday's vacation time. We finally made it to Orlando on Saturday night. We lost a day at Disneyworld, but still made it in plenty of time to get on the ship today. The rest of our vacation will be on the cruise.

We spent the day at Epcot, yesterday. We would have had more time, but we didn't get to bed until very, very late and then my alarm didn't go off because of the "software glitch" in my iPhone (and apparently thousands of others') that prevented my alarm from working on January 1st and 2nd. I was a little worried that the thing was broken until I was able to google it last night.

Anyway, we had a great time visiting the World Showcase spots and we even went on the "high intensity" version of Mission: Space. In case you've never seen the ride, it's a really cool "astronaut flight simulator". The more intense version spins you around as the "ship" is accelerating to simulate the increased g-forces. According to the attendant, the thing spins at 35mph. It was just enough force to actually feel the Gs without being uncomfortable. My wife hated it, but I thought it was cool.

Anyway, I've uploaded a few more pictures to Fb, for those who are interested.

I hope you all are having a great start to the week. I'll check in again when I can.

Morning all. What did I miss?

Silver Crusade

My New Years Eve was quiet. On Saturday, though, I baked bread and made lasagna, which was delicious.

Also, one of my partner's photos was featured on a Los Angeles interest blog. It's linked on my FB page.

Goooooooooooooood morning Fawltyhouse!!

Been a while since I did that. Something to celebrate my first day back at work after a week off. The work's piled up a bit, but due to the heruclean amounts of snow that piled up as well, it's not as bad as it would normally be. Here's hoping everyone's day(year) is a good one.

Ahhh...the first workday of the year...that magical time when all the programs I wrote over the last year show when I forgot to take into account year changeovers...

Two so far!

Seriously though, what happens when the calendar rolls over? Cuz if we're all living in the matrix post the Y2K crash, I wanna fights me some agents!

I killed one of the characters in our game on Saturday. I feel so bad. (At the same time, he was a wizard who found himself within 10 feet of the Big Bad Monster when an AoE went off.) I'm finding I'm really out of practice DMing.

Don't feel bad. Things go wrong in combat, and sometimes characters die. One of my favorite characters died no less than twice, and that first time was REALLY stupid(failed a fort save when returned to flesh from a medusa's gaze).

I remember my first TPK -- 2nd edition -- There was a paladin in the group who had a special ability that granted him something like 95% immunity to paralyzation. So I sent a group of ghouls on the group. First round I hit the Paladin -- he rolled a 97. The ghouls feasted well that night.

Oh, just a couple of little things in stuff I programmed over the past year. Both were pretty small - details I overlooked. Which I hate...but which happen. Fortunately, the vast majority of it is still chugging forward without a problem!

Today's a work day? Not at my company. Yippee!

Bonus - the wife and daughter are back at work/school so I get to goof off til 3. :)

Well, Brandon was left wondering exactly what happened on New Years Eve, when he woke to find his car in the middle of his living room, his refrigerator filled with drying cement, and three strange animals naked in his bathtub. Meanwhile, Al and Veronic ushered in the new year with one of their favorite bedroom activities - sleeping. And, across town, the police were baffle New Year's morning to discover a penguin in....No, wait! That's my soap opera!

Hours and hours and ....

I had a nice quiet day. First one of my whole vacation. :)
Mostly due to kidlet being back at school. And he had a thumbs-up day!!!!! No hitting/biting/kicking/phone calls from hysterical teachers in the middle of the day!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
We went to McDonalds to celebrate.

Glad you're having a good time on your vacation, Paris. Hope the cruise is lots of fun. :)

And good luck at the new job, Woodraven.

That would be using the power for something useful. All great and new technology has to be used for vice first. Its a rule....written somewhere....I am sure.
