Yikes, bad draw for me. And it looks like Elinora has home field advantage with a third fight in Pit 1 ;-)

Init is a 10. I'll post description later, but it's in my profile.

Arbiter:
Init 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

The dark-haired lithe man enters the arena smoothly and calmly, wearing long silken robes with a dark vest over them. The light catches small bits of metal shining on the vest. He surveys the crowd briefly with a glance before turning to his opponent and bowing. He holds a parchment in his hand, and a bandolier of vials is secured across his chest. A few spears are slung over one shoulder in a quiver, and a long-handled sword is sheathed over the other, attached to his wrist by a cord.

Visible weapons--spears, katana. Visible armor--robes.

I was gonna change my gear a little bit, but I suppose that would be a bit cheap now that I know my opponent, so I'll stay the same. I will note that Elinora's dagger is in a sheath on her hip now, and this time she has a bow in one hand and nothing in her other. Hmm.... ;)

Arbiter Only:

Her Scroll of Vanish will be in wrist sheath this match

Init: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23

Init is 23, so I'm up first

Elinora's eyebrows raise at her opponent's show of respect.

Is this some trick?

She shrugs and fires an arrow in response to her enemy's bow.

Arbiter Only:

Swift Action: Imbue Faerie Fire

Std Action: Fire Drow Poisoned Masterwork Arrow

Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

Dmg: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Confirmation Attack Roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

Confirmation Dmg: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (6, 2) + 4 = 12

She gets a crit threat. If 12 hits your FF AC, you are crit for 22 dmg. If it doesnt, you are hit for 10. Either way, you are lit up magically by I'm sure you can guess what, and must make a DC 13 Fort Save vs I'm sure you can guess what.

Arbiter Only:

5 ft move to B-10 if save fails and A-12 if save succeeds

Arbiter:
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25

Yep, that's a crit. Waste a nat 20 on my fort save :-(

yikes. whew. anyhoo, after she sees him shrug off the poison, she curses and steps out of sight.

you're up

Delay until round 1 so I get a full round.

The usually stoic swordsman rips the arrow from his shoulder, cursing the drow.

Coward! You have less honor than the goblin! Face me!

Shigeharu lunges forward with alacrity, icy blade flying at the woman's unprotected legs, but the shoulder wound throws off his balance and the sword crashes onto the pillar.

I move to D10, cast a spell and ice appears on my sword. (DC 16 spellcraft, surprise surprise) Then move to B11 and try to trip you, natural one rolled. :-( Back to you.

Arbiter:
Swift action: Move to D10 with swift runner's shirt, dropping the scroll and drawing my sword, using the scabbard of vigor for +3 for 3 rounds. Standard: Cast frostbite. Move to B11. Free: Spellstrike trip with katana, combat expertise and fight defensively. 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 1 + 3 + 2 - 1 - 4 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 2 + 1 + 3 + 2 - 1 - 4 = 7 Nonlethal 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 Frostbite charges remaining: (3/3), Sword +3 rounds remaining (3/3), HP -22

Arbiter Only:

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

Elinora has no idea what spell it is (even though I do), and she was too busy fighting during your other match, so there's that. She does, however, know that a swordsman is up in her grill though, so she will act accordingly. I'll do my turn later.

Elinora's face betrays a startled look as the warrior rushes her, but she quickly regains her composure with a sneer.

"All this talk of honor. There is no honor. Only victory or defeat."

She then backs away cautiously from her foe (5ft move to B-13), flicking her wrist. A scroll appears in her hand and as she uses it she disappears from sight. The used scroll flutters to the ground. (Spellcraft DC 16, hmmm...)

Arbiter Only:

Free action: switch bow to one hand grip

5-ft step to B-13

Swift Action: draw scroll of vanish from wrist sheathe

Std Action: Vanish on myself

Free action: drop scroll

Move action: Draw wand

Round 2

Arbiter:
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15 Swift Action: Arcane Accuracy. Spellcombat full-round action. First cast Frostbite, then 5 ft move to B12. Free attack from Spellcombat, spellstrike with Frostbite, arcane accuracy. 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 1 + 3 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 3 + 2 + 1 + 3 + 3 - 2 = 30 Katana damage with whetstone 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12 plus Frostbite nonlethal 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6. Second attack, spellstrike 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 1 + 3 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 3 + 2 + 1 + 3 + 3 - 2 = 30 Katana damage (add whetstone if first misses) 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 plus Frostbite nonlethal 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 Crit confirm one 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 1 + 3 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 3 + 2 + 1 + 3 + 3 - 2 = 17 Katana damage with whetstone 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 plus Frostbite nonlethal 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6. Crit confirm two 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 1 + 3 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 2 + 1 + 3 + 3 - 2 = 13 Katana damage(add whetstone if first misses) 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 plus Frostbite nonlethal 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 1st attack Concealment, 51+ attack hits 1d100 ⇒ 72 2nd attack Concealment, 51+ attack hits 1d100 ⇒ 29 1st attack CL check to overcome SR 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20 2nd attack CL check to overcome SR 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19

Ok, after WAY too much rolling, here goes. JUST fail to ID spell from spellcraft. Then I spellcombat cast Frostbite and 5 ft move, full attack. First attack is a crit threat, which oonfirms a 17. Concealment chance fails. Second attack is a crit threat, confirms only a 13, but that's vs your fatigued/entangled AC, but then I miss due to concealment. My CL check to overcome your SR was a 20. 17 confirm? One good crit deserves another...

17 does hit

FYI to the Arbiter, we're brothers, so dbauers told me on the phone that I needed to roll SR, that 17 confirms and that he's dropped--total is 20 lethal and 12 nonlethal. So...

Shigeharu stands ready as the drow casts a spell, unable to watch as her movements are concealed.

He casts a spell of his own and channels his magic through his blade, closing his eyes as he steps forward. Despite the pain in his shoulder and the roar of the crowd, his sword finds its mark. It sticks in the air, dead center, before he twists it and removes it with a deft movement.

Honor is victory, dishonor defeat. He turns his back on the invisible foe, respecting her skill but not her philosophy.

Do I still get a 50% miss chance on a coup de grace when he's unconscious?

Found this on the SRD: You can deliver a coup de grace against a creature with total concealment, but doing this requires two consecutive full-round actions (one to “find” the creature once you've determined what square it's in, and one to deliver the coup de grace).

Arbiter:
Round 3: Swift action to add +1 enhancement to the sword for 10 rounds, Full round action to "start" coup de grace. Scabbard of vigor runs out. Round 4: Coup de grace, two-handed, /w last frostbite charge. Lethal 2d8 + 10 ⇒ (1, 6) + 10 = 17 plus 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 1) + 6 = 13 nonlethal.

Unless you have something that heals you, Rounds 3 and 4

Shigeharu concentrates for a moment, then stabs down seemingly into the ground next to him. When he removes his sword blood sprays into the air as it freezes from the spell, raining red hail on the dirt floor of the arena.

Coup de grace 17 lethal, 13 nonlethal. Fort save DC 31 if applicable. Good game, bro. Sorry I ruined your win streak. :-(

All of that rolling seems to be in order, good game.

End of Bout Two
VICTORY TO SHIGEHARU

good fight bro

Bout Three
ROLG VS. SHIGEHARU

The dark-haired lithe man enters the arena smoothly and calmly, wearing long silken robes with a dark vest over them. The light catches small bits of metal shining on the vest. He surveys the crowd briefly with a glance before turning to his opponent and bowing. He holds a parchment in one hand and a sword in the other, while a bandolier of vials is secured across his chest. A few spears are slung over one shoulder in a quiver, and a long-handled sword is sheathed over the other, attached to his wrist by a cord. Two scroll cases hang from his belt. It seems that the swordsman has used his wealth thus far to purchase some jewelry--a ring shines brightly on his sword hand while a pale pink stone orbits his head.

Visible weapons--spears, katanas (one in hand, one sheathed with weapon cord). Visible armor--robes, barbed vest. 2 scroll cases, spell component pouch

Init = 21. Good luck!

Arbiter:
Initiative 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

ROLG THE RED

Rolg steps into the even light of the arena once again, a few extra long-had red hammers dropping to the sand as his eyes take in the human. He grunts in response to the man's bow as he plants the butt of his remaining hammer in the white sand near his spike-toed boot.

His other hand, holding a vial of thick liquid, points to a series of skull tattoos running down his neck. A human skull then two goblin skulls. Then, without pausing, he points to the bare skin succeeding the third skull and grins emphatically.

Arbiter:
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13

Initiative 13. You're up.

Round 0

Shigeharu smiles at the dwarf's antics, then steps behind the pillar.

5ft move to K9, do something else, your go.

Arbiter:
5ft move to K9, cast spell from scroll.

ROLG THE RED

Did you hide? Cover doesn't equal insta-invisible without a stealth roll, right?
Surprise Round

"Tallene..." the dwarf grunts before swigging the vial's contents. His skin takes on a brownish-green, ridged look as his muscles harden.

Dwarven:
"Figures..."

Arbiter:
Drink vial.
Swift for Judgment of Protection

Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

Drinks vial. Perception: 17

Youre up.

Whoops, I didn't realize I needed a stealth roll. I thought it was total cover if you stand behind the pillar, so all lines of sight were blocked. My bad.

Stealth fails with a 15. Shigeharu cast the spell from the scroll he was holding. DC 16 spellcraft, no visible effect. Can I use spellcraft to ID potions that you drink, or is that more of a knowledge arcana thing?

Rolg 16 spellcraft:
Shield

Arbiter:
Stealth 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

Round 1

The swordsman produces a scroll and reads it, seemingly multiplying as he looks at the dwarf from behind the pillar. He then flicks his wrist and another piece of parchment falls into his hand.

There are now 5 Shigeharus

Spellcraft DC 17:
Mirror Image, obviously

Arbiter:
Move: Draw Scroll of Mirror Image. Standard: Cast it, get 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 images. Swift: Draw the CL 2 scroll in my wrist sheath. Shield rounds remaining: (9/10), Mirror Image rounds remaining: (30/30), Images remaining: (4/4), Arcane Pool remaining: (6/6)

ROLG THE RED

I don't think you can make a spellcraft check to ID if the person has cover. So I can see that you're still there, and casting from scrolls, but can't officially ID them, though I can make guesses at obvious context clues (like there being 5 of you).
And I don't know of a way for you to ID potions from a distance using Spellcraft, either.

Round 1

"Jeg betaler ikke for fem tatoveringer," Rolg mutters as he slowly begins to advance, drawing his own scroll and using it. Though there are no obvious effects.

Dwarven:
"I'm not paying for five tattoos."

Arbiter:
Draw Scroll of Shield of Faith; use it.
5' step to B.11

Draw Scroll. Use Scroll (cover makes it impossible for you to ID). 5' step to B.11.

You're up. (done for the night, and it's very unlikely i'll be able to post tomorrow... sorry)

Round 2

No worries, it's all good.

The scroll flutters to the ground as Shigeharu discards it, drawing a different one and casting it instead.

No visible effects, back to you.

Arbiter:
Free: Drop scroll. Move: Draw Scroll of Mage Armor. Standard: Cast scroll. Shield rounds remaining: (8/10), Mirror Image rounds remaining: (29/30), Images remaining: (4/4), Mage Armor Rounds remaining: (60/60), Arcane Pool remaining: (6/6), consumables used: 200 gp

ROLG THE RED

Round 2

Rolg's scowl darkens.

"Du dreper resten av dine motstandere gjennom ren kjedsomhet?!" he yells as he rushes to the center of the arena, exploding to twice his size as he moves. He slides to a stop and tries to wedge his massive hammer between Shigeharu and the pillar in an attempt to push the man back away from cover.

Dwarven:
"You kill the rest of your opponents through sheer boredom?!"

Arbiter:
Move to G/H 11/12
Double in size
Raging Reposition attempt to move him to L.10

Reposition 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21

Double in size and move to G/H 11/12. Then use a Raging Reposition attempt to move Shigeharu to L.10.
Reposition: 21 vs. your CMD

You're up.

ROLG THE RED

lol. Just re-read my post. I'm gonna have to trademark the "Ragin' Reposition" maneuver! :D

EDIT: also, slight math mistake on my last post... the Reposition shoujld have been a 21 vs. your CMD (as it now says).

21 vs CMD is a narrow miss, though the ragin' reposition was pretty awesome. Question, if you rage, does that penalty to your AC affect your CMD? I assume so, but I figure I should ask. Hmm, what to do, what to do...

Round 3

Shigeharu ducks under the enlarged weapons, darting back and forth to close with the massive dwarf. As he goes he draws his sword, imbuing it with arcane power before delivering a devastating strike in the weak point of Rolg's armor.

Ok, drop Katana, tumble to I11 to avoid AoO, acrobatics is a 24 vs your CMD. If that goes through, I cast defensively and succeed, DC 17 Spellcraft to identify. I then attack with my sword and get a natural 20, crit confirm is a 30, yeesh. Regular damage is 12 plus 18 cold and you're staggered for 1 round. If the 30 crit confirms, you take an additional 22 damage plus 23 lethal cold damage. So it's either 30 damage (barring cold resistance) or 75 damage if the crit confirms. :-/

Arbiter:
Free: Drop Katana Move to I11, tumbling to avoid AoO, drawing Katana with Scabbard of Vigor +3 for 3 rounds. 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24 Standard: Cast Frigid Touch Defensively, concentration check DC 19 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19 Swift: Arcane Accuracy, +4 to attack. Free--two-handed grip. Free: Spell Strike with Frigid Touch, Katana attack 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (20) + 14 = 34 Katana damage two-handed plus whetstone, 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12 plus 4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 5, 1) = 18 lethal cold damage. Crit confirm 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (16) + 14 = 30 Crit Katana damage two-handed plus whetstone (doubled with two arcane pool points from perfect strike), 2d8 + 16 ⇒ (4, 2) + 16 = 22 plus Crit 4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 5, 6) = 23 lethal cold damage. Shield rounds remaining: (7/10), Mirror Image rounds remaining: (28/30), Images remaining: (4/4), Mage Armor Rounds remaining: (59/60), Arcane Pool remaining: (3/6), consumables used: 200 gp

ROLG THE RED

Well, crap. You aced a tumble, a defensive casting, and then confirmed a crit to one-shot Rolg…
not much anyone can do against that. Though I guess I popped one of your mirror images on the reposition, so that's not nothin...

Rolg, and his perfect record, come toppling to the arena sands… stone dead.

Shigeharu approaches the dwarf-sicle and casts a spell, channeling it through his blade and slashing Rolg's neck, just under the tattoos. Where the wound is, a magical mark appears in the form of a sword-slash.

Arcane Mark spellstrike

Yeah, I knew I had to close the distance with your crazy reach, so I figured with my high AC and images I could hopefully approach you unscathed. And I had to try out my brand new Belt of Tumbling :-) I was actually going to try to Trip you, but I figured it was going to be easier to hit your buffed AC than to hit a giant-sized, raging dwarf's Trip CMD. Now I'm glad I straight up attacked. I believe all of my fights have now ended on a crit--I've never seen spellstrike with a high crit weapon in action before, but it's pretty insane. I know I can't keep up this luck forever, and I'm actually sad to see Rolg lose, cuz he's awesome. Anyway, good game.

ROLG THE RED

Yah, i hate to take the loss as well, but the dice are the dice, ya know?

End of Bout Three
VICTORY TO SHIGEHARU

Challenge Bout
VIRONUS VS. BRUNO

Bruno Bullrush: Smelly Dwarf astride a smelly camel. Win:2 Loss:6 Rep: 3

Bruno enters the arena in a sour mood. He had failed to protect Esmeralda last bout, and he isn't happy about it. He stares at his enemy coldly. Surely, it was time for a win. For Vengence.

dice:

init: 1d29 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Init:6
Well that's a poor way to start things.

Vironus enters the arena, no longer caring to look up and please the lack of a crowd. His only concern is his opponent.

With shield in hand, he marches fourth, eyeing his opponent up.

Dwarven:
Hello! So it appears I've not won a single match, and I have doubt I'll win this one either, haha!

It appears the fighters here are a breed apart!

Dice:
Initiative: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Haha, not much better than you!

Bruno Bullrush: Smelly Dwarf astride a smelly camel. Win:2 Loss:6 Rep: 3

dice:

Dwarven:

Neither have I, human. Time to see who is closer to the bottom of the barrel! Have at Ye!

Bruno mounts his steed, and Esmeralda takes her step to the right, squareing up to her prey.
Now in A-B/10-11

Dwarven:
Then we shall test this!

Vi drops his shield into F9, draws his blades and moves up to the Camel, taking a swipe at Bruno.

Move up to C10

Arbiter:
Acrobatics if necessary to avoid AoO: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27

E attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21

Bruno easily blocks his foe's strike with his shield. His lance clatters to the ground once again, and tooth and pick come crashing down upon the unfortunate fighter

Attack:26
Damage:14
E attack:21
E damage:6

Not much I can do here really. Rolling around you isn't an option thanks to Pillars! :p

Aiming at the Dwarf once more, Vironus strikes out with two attacks, seemingly now with a lack of confidence in his own abilities.

Dwarven:
It's just not my day!

The man steps backwards, hoping to remain out of the Dwarves range.

5ft step back to D10

GM:

Attack 1: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

Vi's HP: 11/31

Bummer, miss on both and a natural 1 on both damage rolls!

Bruno Bullrush: Smelly Dwarf astride a smelly camel. Win:2 Loss:6 Rep: 3

That sucks. I've lost at least one match that way.

Both attacks fail to even make contact. Bruno presses the assault, determined to take advantage of Vironus's defensiveness.

dice:

Vi drops to the floor once more, in what was probably his most pathetic match yet.
