I ran an adventure from dungeon magazine with a stone golem in it. The golem had several crystal chakras which were vulnerable and could be sundered in order to cripple the golem. The crystals didn't have the golem's DR, but they had a Hardness of 8.
The party summoned a lantern archon whose light rays overcome "damage reduction of any type."
The eye rays could hit the golem and ignore his DR 10, but would they also ignore the hardness 8 of the crystals?

Lantern Archon's ability ignores Damage Reduction. Hardness is not DR but spearate defensive trait so it is not ignore by it. Otherwise Lantern Archons would be ultimate siege engines capable of tearing down any wall or fortification.
Hardness is not damage reduction.
And unlike DR, which only applies against physical attacks, hardness applies against everything (even energy attacks and falling).

Short of this, summoning a handful of lantern archons is nearly guaranteed win against golems.
Remember also that their aura of menace is not mind affecting and thus should affect the golem.

Lanter Archons are pretty freaking sweet though. My personal fave on the SMIII list. I want one as a familiar/cohort! Nonstop Electric Zapping
the rays are not spell like though as LazarX suggested -- in fact they aren't even supernatural -- they are extraordinary which means they even work against things in an anti magic field. Still don't bypass hardness though.
