Nekkid ranting for TotP.

Wow. That's ridiculous. And now I really appreciate how on top of paperwork my school is.

And fear how bad it's going to be when I have to transfer...

I'm dreading that myself, and transcript gathering...blech. Having to call the high school I went to in 1994 to prove that I took Algebra II....

Did I mention I'm planning to go back to school this year..?

Man. Misery loves company, but I'm so sorry to hear that everyone else is in a bind. The last I heard Financial Aid started making sense around the time I left school, I guess that was just a rumor. I'm also starting to feel guilty about b&&~&ing about work when there are so few jobs to go around...

Also...an aside.

Spoiler:
I think I saw something I wasn't supposed to see at work today- a listing for my position. It was in between a lot of things I picked up from the printer this afternoon. Not specifically MY position, mind- there are three people at my job with my title, and considering some of the numbers on the paper I'm thinking it's a specific coworker leaving- but after all the b*#!&!#$ I've been dealing with the past few days I don't know whether to be nervously depressed or cautiously optimistic..

I know how that feels, Lilith..It can be a serious hassle, and sometimes a bit embarrassing...

PIE of a winning kind.

lyn, there are some ridiculous assumptions about parental support in FAFSA. It's great in preventing folks from cheating the system, but it guts the ability of many, many young people in getting financial aid. They assume your parents have money and will pay until what - 25? - no matter what your real situation is. So if they have money but won't pay, or simply won't cooperate and provide their income info for FAFSA, you're SOL.
That is so screwed up. I got married when I was 20 so after that it was always based on our income not my parents' income, so I didn't realize how screwed up the whole process really was.

Yep, it's screwed up. Apparently I make too much money for my daughter to get any govt loans, or any other kind of aid, so it's unsecured loans in my name or the ROTC scholarship we keep hoping will come thru.

I think they are improving, but it's going to take a long time to work out the backlog of unemeployed and underemployed people. :(

I get bitter and cynical when they say that unemployment applications have gone down.

It's because for some of us, the benefits are maxed out and can no longer draw.

I imagine that'll spike in March when some of the seasonal from the holiday rush are let go and the USPS sheds nearly 35k in staff.

Scarab Sages

Mrgh.

What is this thread about?

Just people, talking about whatever.

Utter nihilism and gratuitous BttH. And lots of horse play.

"Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read."

that's the purpose of this thread.

The Exchange

Pretty much.

It is hard to find reason in chaos

If you gaze into FAWTL, FAWTL gazes also into you.

Go to a strip club and you'll see a bunch of men sitting drooling over some nekkid women wishing they could touch.

Go to a "male revue" and you'll see a bunch of screaming horny gals flashing their stuff, grabbing men's junk and even performing sexual favors on them.

Yeah... we're the nasty ones.

Yeah... we're the nasty ones.

While I have yet to see something as extreme as girls flashing strippers(unless they were relatively young and really, really, REALLY drunk) and certainly no performance of sexual acts outside of a mark for a dancing bear vid, I will say that I've seen women act far worse than men at strip clubs.

There should be some initiation ritual, involving the spilling of blood to appease the gods of FaWTL!

I've seen women do some really crazy and kinky stuff at Mardi Gras of years past.

Morning, all. What did I miss?

Maybe the problem is that I've never been to Mardi Gras. I doubt I'll ever get the chance to go now. I admit that despite my zeal for first hand knowledge(although not necessarily experience) of all things sexual, I've lead a rather sheltered life, which is amazing considering I spent most of my youth in NY. I've only recently started going to clubs regularly, and even that was for work. I sometimes shudder to think what would have become of me without the internet.

Always remember: you can't make a right turn on red in New Orleans.
I think they did that on purpose, just to mess with tourists.
Maybe not, although I wouldn't put it past them,.... but if you can dig that mindset,......the "carny's vs. the rubes" mentality,......you can walk around okay in New Orleans. Maybe.
Oh, and.....glasses that can see behind you.
And wear your wallet in a pouch around your neck, because the pickpockets will grease you, man.

You can't make a right on red in NY either. I can't tell you how many times I've almost been killed while riding my bike by people from SC or VA or wherever else. Glasses that can see behind me would be nice, but my wallet is attached to my pants by a chain. It's already thwarted one would be pickpocket, although I am loathe to encounter another.

Sounds like you'll be allright then.....
you're a big blue catdude from Pandora going to the Amazon Jungle.

My daughter witnessed our dog Ali kill our rabbit Tyche this afternoon. All because her little brother took the bunny out of it's cage and then opened the gate to let the dog into the play room where Tyche was kept.

Aww, man. I'm sorry.

Jesus Christ man, I'm sorry. What an awful situation. I always wondered how you and your wife kept peace between the animals in your house, I didn't know it was all due to keeping everyone away from everyone else.

Silver Crusade

That's awful, Moorluck. :(

Scarab Sages

Moorluck,

Sorry to hear that. I hope the kids are ok.

Ugh. :(

Having four cats and two dogs, I'm well aware of setting up boundaries so the felines have a place to make a break when one of the dogs want to be in 'chase mode'.

The Exchange

Okay, I got Arden calmed down. She's drawing a picture of the bunny playing with my rabbit that passed away last year playing in heaven.

Kellen was very nonplussed about it, and Riley just doesn't get it.

Our old dog, Titan, was best friends with Finn, the bunny that died last year. We had hoped that the same would be with Ali and Tyche, however huskies are very playful and chase oriented, and Tyche was very skittish.

So we moved Tyche into the playroom, and put up a gate so Ali couldn't get in. It was fine that way, I guess my little man just wanted them to play together.

Sometimes... sometimes being Dad sucks.
