Fewest rolls in combat

Advice

Silver Crusade

So I am looking to make a character who needs to make no or almost no rolls for combat. That probably rules out all martial characters. I was thinking some sort of buff/battlefield control mage but also wondered if other classes might work.

Assume APG and core and 20 pt build.

A buffer/controller primary caster is pretty much the best bet. Wizard, Sorc, or Witch perhaps. Perhaps Bard, but it'll be more difficult and the team is likely to expect you at least trying to deal some damage, so it may cause tension.

It really depends. Does the GM play non-player characters for you? If so go with conjurer. If not, battlefield control is pretty much it. Throw up some walls, buff some people and call it a day.

I'd recommend either a Summoner, Sorcerer, or Conjurer that buffs allies as well as summon them to attack foes.

You could always go with Cleric 13/Pathfinder Savant 7

Make the cleric of Desna: Chaos(Azata, Protean), Luck (Curse, Fate)

Pathfinder Savant allows you to pick any 6 spells...from any list to add to your own...so you could snag Haste from the Summoner at 2nd level..and other really nice pulls to help fill out your character.

The cleric domains with the subdomains listed do not have any rolls made by you, so that fits with your theme also.

That is just off the top of my head, but it seems like a really fun concept that fits with what you are looking for.

Invest in the mental stats, and make the character elderly, and you could be the party's sage :)

..I am slowly talking myself into this concept lol

Enjoy

Sorcerer with heighten spell, SOD/SOS spells (one fort one will one reflex), and School focus (pick your favorite)

Scarab Sages

I just got done playing a Bard/Rogue/Dragon Disciple in a high lvl game, and generally I didnt roll dice for the first 2-3 rounds of combat unless they were right on top of me.

Usually went something like Bard Song (Inspire, move action), Haste (spell, metamagic rod, quick action), Good Hope (spell, standard action).

2nd round drop Bard Song (free action, had "Lingering Performance" feat), New Bard Song (battle field control/Inspire Greatness (move action) Spell (buff of some sort, with meta magic rod quick action), either 2nd move action to move, or another spell, sometimes just do 5' step, Lunge, attack with long spear to hit something 15' away.

Lots of actions, action economy was huge, very little rolling most times, by the end I could provide everyone something like +8 to hit, +8 to damage, +1 action in a full round action, +4 to most saves, +1 AC, and occasionally get a few Sneak Attacks off.

Lots of fun, and easy to help the GM corral bonuses and track hits and stuff. Plus, EVERYONE likes bonuses to hit and damage.

Very effective dude.

Bards get lots of "Instant Action" spells too, which can seriously help the poor fighters that miss a roll, either saves or hits.

Check em.
