Wand Wielder bypasses Spell Combat restirctions?

Is it me or does Wand Wielder allow the magus to ignore the "must be a magus spell" restriction of Spell Combat?

It specifically says you can activate a wand rather than cast a magus spell.

If so, this could be extremely powerful. You could full attack and heal, or cast divine favor or divine power and then full attack with some hefty bonuses.

Legal? Why or why not?

I believe that is the intent, but some clarification would be great (bump).

Yes, the ability places no restriction on which wands or staves he can use, as far as I can see.

It seems legit to me. All you are doing is replacing a spell you have memorized with one from a wand or staff. If you take a few ranks in UMD things can get interesting. :)
