Is anyone else having problems with the binding holding together on the core rulebook? The binding is literally coming apart at the seems, and I can't believe that I'm the only one that this is happening to.
I didn't see a more appropriate area for a thread like this btw. Apart from the binding issue, I've been very pleased with Pathfinder.
thanks,
Jamie

This is a common problem with first printing copies of the Core book..I have retired mine in favour of a third printing copy and it will only be coming out to get signed by Paizo staffers in future
I wouldn't say that it is a common problem. We have estimated from reports we have received that we have received that it is less than half of 1% of all books, which really isn't that huge of a problem. As I have posted in other areas on the boards (so I won't go into huge detail again), so many factors can affect the binding, especially on a big book. Heat, cold, humidity, rapid changes in those things, how the book is stored, how is it carried around, etc.

I think I have a first printing, and yeah, the binding... or at least the sections that connect the covers of the book, are weakening quite a bit.
My wife and I don't use it too much, thanks to www.d20pfsrd.com, but over the last couple of months I have been noting to myself that the book is rapidly weakening. If this was the pre-internet era then I'd guess at this point I'd have duct taped the binding to the covers at this point due to a massive amount of use.
It definitely isn't going to last as long as my AD&D books which are still quite robust after all these decades.

I have a first printing and so does a buddy of mine. We are also seeing a quick deterioration of the binding. Guess I might have to buy a new copy and save the first printing for staff signing like Wellard.
