Homebrew Questions

Hey there, I've got a few questions regarding my homebrew, the Pathfinder rules, and the OGL.

Firstly, I'm working on a homebrew update of D20 Modern using some concepts from the PfRPG. Now, I know that currently the PfRPG is not "Open Content", but when published next August, will I be able to freely post some kind of "rulebook" updating the D20 SRD with some stuff from Pathfinder, as long as I post the OGL and give them credit for their ideas?

Also, I noticed that in the D20 Modern SRD, Moreaus are absent. However, "uplifted" animals seem to be a common theme in science fiction, and the word Moreau references a book that I believe is in the public domain by now. My question is, if I were to make my own set of rules for "Moreaus", that were different from those presented in D20 Modern, but still called them Moreaus, would that violate the terms of the OGL? And if I didn't call them Moreaus, would that violate the OGL?

I may have a few more questions later, and I hope this is the right place to put them. I will also be posting more on my homebrew later...

Most of the Pathfinder RPG is Open Content now (see the OGL statement in the actual product for details), though we do advise that people wanting to make compatible products wait for the finished version (and anyone desiring to indicate such compatibility will be required by license to wait for the finished version).

That said, so long as you follow the rest of the OGL properly, you will be able to do what you're asking about.

You might want to post that one in the 3.5 forum.
