1 Klar Two Handed Sheild Bash

Rules Questions

Would this be legal if using improved shield bash?

Grand Lodge

Going off of poor memory, but I think the klar counts has a light shield bash. So since light shield bash is a light weapon it can't be two-handed. Heavy shield bashes are one handed, so they can be "two" handed.

Grand Lodge

Actually, the Klar has bounced around as light, or one-handed weapon, depending on the source.

Sczarni

Yes. The Klar is listed as a 1 handed weapon. 1 handed weapons can be used in 2 hands to get 1.5x STR and 3:1 on Power Attack.

However, Kintrik is also correct in the description of the Klar says that it's like making a shield bash with Armor spikes.

Setting aside the misleading language of "Armor spikes", a shield bash with a light shield is like attacking with a light weapon. So it wouldn't get the benefit of 1.5x STR, but in Pathfinder it still gets the 3:1 on Power Attackif I recall.... Unless it's an off-hand attack.

Thanks! That is one confusing weapon lol

Could this work with a heavy shield?

Sczarni

Yes. Pretty sure the heavy shield is less confusing then the Klar.

I think I may just use a single heavy shield then and do a captain america fighting style.
