So... yeah, a drow noble character would be 1 level lower than the rest of the group.
Did you test that?
I mean, the stat bonuses are pretty neat (there's a +4 in there!), I'd almost say that they're worth a lost level alone.
Spell resistance, which means you'll evade a lot of spells completely, is really useful, too.
And then there are the spells. Some are just useful, like feather fall. Some, like darkness and levitate at will, are really useful. And then you get divine favour, dispel magic and suggestion once per day?
I'd almost make each of these sets of abilities cost a level. All together? Sounds powerful to me.
If I told my characters that this race was open, I would have an all-drow party.
An all drow noble party...sounds like a campaign...the young drow of a house. Oh the backstabbing...haha

Nah, the sooner the kid's exposed to true terror the better she'll be at handling it. I recommend Rosemary's Baby, the Exorcist, the Omen, Event Horizon, The Mist, and In the Mouth of Madness.
If PG-13 is a hard ceiling, I recommend The Others or The Orphanage, both of which are ghost stories in the classic tradition but which have pretty powerful twists at the end that still give me shivers just thinking about them. If you want something specifically made for kids that's creepy, I suggest Return to Oz, one of the most formative films of my youth.
I LOVE EVENT HORIZON!!!!

Wait, someone authorized 1000 credits for me to purchase gear? Wow! Why didn't any of you guys tell me that I had 1000 credits to buy stuff with? Mo rushes over to the computer terminal with a huge grin on his face and starts flipping through items trying to find something applicable to his position as a hygiene officer on a troubleshooter team.

My houserules:
Katana damage: 4d8 + Str score, 10-20/x10.
Ninjas get "Hide in Plain Sight" at 1st level.
Halflings are treated as rogues at their character level, no matter what class they are.
Chainmail bikinis give an inherent Charisma bonus equal to the armor bonus.
45 point buy for character creation.
Sorcerer & wizard can are essentially the same. Get spells like wizard, cast like sorcerer. One has bloodline & other specialization.
Expanded the Bard spell list to include Magic Missile & Fireball.
Candy & pizza are members of the healthy food groups.....for your character's survival, that is.
Sometimes I wonder how many realize these are joke houserules. Except that bikini thing, lol.
Duh...cuz a real houserule would make all katanas vorpal! on a 10+

I had another idea...
One of my players preferred the Beta Cleric domains, what if you had a dedicated domain, that stacked on the existing domain.
Example: You would take the water domain, then for your second domain you would take the dedicated Water domain. Now the Dedicated Domain would grant advanced powers in addition to the basic powers.
So you would end up being extra specialized in one area? That's a really cool idea. Very flavorful.
Thanks =D

Someone asks for opinions on a character concept and people automatically quote someone else. How are someone else's words youe opinion? How are rules?
The OP was asking about a concept, aand clearly stated all the reason his character believed Asmodeus was a good god. If someone put that much work into a character, I'd allow it, and ask the player if he would like his character to learn the truth or not later on.
My opinion:
If I was the GM, this would be a tough sell, with a very strong likelihood that I would reject this character concept.
And you'll notice that I cite no rules whatsoever. That notwithstanding, yeah.. "NO".
As people have mentioned previously in the thread, sincere worship of one diety done in the name of another diety (the Tash versus Aslan reference, where good in the name of Tash is taken into account by Aslan), would have some merit with me. I would want the player to understand that on some Meta-level, lest they think I "messed their character concept up" at a later point.
I'm not saying it's impossible for me to accept this characer concept, but it would have to be an exceptional player. Not a casual one, or somebody I didn't know well.
As a player at the same table, I'm not sure I wouldn't buck and just walk away. Again, mitigated by my trust in the GM and the paladin player.
All my opinion, and not relying on RAW whatsoever.
Frankly, the only reason I see for Asmodeus to put up with this would be in order to corrupt the paladin. Not undermine their adherence to law, but weaken their faith in the inherent goodness of people. Because from his point of view, Law is necessary because people aren't good; and for Law to work effectively it must not hindered or fettered by altruism and moral conviction. So if this paladin suceeds, it ultimately undermines Asmodeus to some small degree. That might be an amusing intellectual pursuit or game for a while, but as the paladin rises in power there will come a time when 'enough is enough'....
I on the other hand, would allow this with the proper caveats, Asmodeus ready to bend the would-be paladin to his will into a blackguard...'enough is enough' Asmodeus gets mad, and starts sending fiends to destroy his own champion...classic.
The low intelligence aspect is great, he's too dense to realize what's wrong with the doctrine.

Yep, they are trying to trick you into playing 4E.
Did they change the rules to 4e? About the only way I'd play LoL...
Actually it was a poor attempt at a joke. I do find the way they handle levels andsuch a little wonky though. Certainly not NWN.
agreed, it was a patch to ultra fast levelling...I remember in early beta when they didn't have it.

This is awesome news. I still have my DDO game tucked around in my case of games. I was dreading having to sign up for a subscription, but was curious to give it a try again. The idea that I can play it for free is great! I've just gotten into Eberron with 4e so the game means a fair bit more to me now too. This should be fun.
Don't get too excited about the Eberron Aspect, the only really eberron feel in the game is warforged...no shifters, no psionics, no Kalashtar, no changelings, no artificers...
let's put Favored Soul in instead of Artificer...what?
Favored Soul before druid also...Turbine is weird...
But it'll take a while to hit level 10 on two characters, so enjoy it to level 10.

Check out the sheet for Bindlplotz, I took a few minutes to finish tweaking it...heh, I made it so his light shield attaches to his musket to act as a bipod...whetehr that's actually beneficial or not is totally up to you, I just thought it was a fun clockworky thing to do. He also smokes a big Sherlock Holmes' pipe and has a pack dog that enjoys helping him.
Everything looks good, but you still need to give Raduloket access to the sheet. Other than that and your saves missing the class bonuses, Bindlplotz is ready to go. I'll have an answer on the bipod mechanics before your first combat.
Oh, and you should check the Bestiary Preview for Puposaur's(great name, btw) stats. You should list them on the sheet in case they ever change(barding, buff spells, etc), even if he's never intended for combat.
For your recent notable act, we'll say that your recent success as a merchant is how you're best known in Sasserine, unless you have something else you'd like instead for your burgeoning reputation. Welcome to the Savage Tide!
How about just the fact he's the owner of a musket, and he gives demonstrations for attempting to get people interested in the technology.

Free Play you get access to 2 characters.
You have access to Stormreach and it's environs (whatever that means)
Warforged and Drow are paid contents
Monks are paid content.
and favored souls are paid content also.
OK let's get a Paizo Guild going, I'll be having my kids create accounts also, and I can play on 3 comps right now.
I played for 2 years, then quit because I had to trim the fat, and City of Heroes beat out DDO for my keeper. But since I can play for free now...well...AWESOME!

Skill Based magic system.
Racial hit points from Beta
Alternate Class abilities.
Advanced poison crafting rules to allow increasing any of the numbers in the stat through concentrating them.
Advanced alchemy crafting
Advanced Masterwork crafting, to give different abilities to masterwork weapons and armor, (reduce wt 10%, increase dex bonus by 1, reduce arcane spell failure by 5%, etc....with each change costing more and more, multiple changes growing exponentially)
All the traits in one location!!!
A flaw/advantage system like the one cryptosnark put out, but reworked into the point buy system, what I did was allow new class skills at 1pt, extra skill points at 1 pt, a new feat at 3 pts, and a new trait at 1pt.

How long will reload time be?
Will you be using the exploding dice and misfire rules?
How much is this monstrosity going to cost? (which OGL costs are you using?) Since you have a clockwork location, is it steampunk like? Do you have Iron Kingdom rules?
Because if it's going to be a huge hindrance, I will switch to a double crossbow, and have a little steam engine instead of a crank to reload it...(having to spend an exotic proficiency to have a poor weapon just won't be fun.)
I love the concept of a gnomish sharpshooter, but if I'm gonna suck, I'll have to save it for another game and just go with a different weapon, y'know...
This article might be of interest.
The rest of the world is more medieval than steampunk, especially the parts in the AP, but I do have some reference material for Iron Kingdoms if it comes to that.
The cost of the weapon itself is extreme for 1st level(about 750gp by my reckoning), but the reload time should be very fast. The expense of making ammo is something I still need to work out, but with the right craft/profession it should be manageable in your timeframe. I won't be using exploding dice or anything like that. It's just an extremely uncommon weapon, but for a small weapon, its damage(1d10) is unparalleled. There aren't any feats in the core rules, but I'll make sure and drop some in if it's important to your character. At 1st level, you're not going to see a huge mechanical difference from other ranged weapons, but it will perform faster than a crossbow as you gain iterative attacks(without rapid reload, that's a given with this sort of weapon). It also has tremendous roleplaying potential, I think. If you stick with it, I'll make sure it gets the same attention as any other character background choice(I just...
OK, I had been looking at the Rifle from Pathfinder CS for stats, (it's 1d8 19-20/x3) so it would have been 1d6 for small, that's why I would have wanted exploding dice. =)
500gp+25% would only be 625gp right?
