TRIGGERED ACTION!

OWL ATTACK!

"WHOOT!" Dive! Dive!

The tiny, 4-pound raptor (who it must be said swings well above his wieght) attempts to knock Zokon off the wall of the pit!

For 1 non-lethal. I need a new climb check (DC 20). You don't get an AoO unless you pull your gauntlet away from the wall which triggers a fall. Zokon is about 7 (round to 5) feet up when this occurs (Z had to get up and dust himself off before climbing).

fly: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

Readied action:
talons v Zokon if he tries climbing out (higher ground): 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 7 + 1 = 17 damage: 1d4 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 0

Zokon will swat at the owl with his spiked gauntlet

*Swish!* Like a leaf (with mage armor) on the wind, the owl evades most of the contact and streaks in to exact revenge.

talons of vengeance from on high (AoO): 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 7 + 1 = 21 damage: 1d4 - 2 ⇒ (3) - 2 = 1

"WHOO!"

The owl only threatens the square you are both in. Unless you take a some sort of precaution (a withdraw action for instance), he gets an AoO. Notch hasn't moved this round, but he is not flat-footed. (He attacked you last round--your AoO happened on his turn in round 4 while you were still outside the fog). The current attack triggers as you move out of the (clear) square into the mist.

Evil owl of opportunity (talon, higher ground): 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 7 + 1 = 14 damage: 1d4 - 2 ⇒ (1) - 2 = -1 1 nonlethal

The above was re-edited more times than I'd like to think about. ;)

talons (AoO, higher ground): 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 7 + 1 = 10 damage: 1d4 - 2 ⇒ (3) - 2 = 1 miss

Don't worry about the owl though he's coming right back.

The owl swoops in from above and behind the wizard in the wood, its talons glowing with eerie St. Elmo's fire.

shocking talon grasp v Numalar (higher ground, charge!): 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 7 + 2 + 1 = 23 damage: 1d4 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 0 electricity damage: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 1, 2) = 9

Before it hits, you get an attack of opportunity vs the ever elusive owl of death if you have a weapon ready.

That's not likely to hit anything.

If we can manage to roll even close to average we might have a chance.. but seeing as we are well below.. meh..

"Pbbt!" Notch flies off behind cover.

The tiny owl nimbly dodges out of the line of fire. You'd swear it is almost as if it were smugly laughing at you.

"Who-who-whooo!"

Death from above!

"WHOO!"
